5 out of 5 eggsMSI 6600GT AGP

Pros: *Fit on my MSI 6600GT AGP
*Reduced the temperature on the GPU to just above ambient (even overclocked).
*Nice design, looks and fit well in my case and on the card.
*Quiet (can't hear it at all)
*Still running.

Cons: *Memory coolers don't fit under the heat-sink (I just cut a few fins off mine and they fit, and still work great.
*Nothing to replace, or cool the PCI to AGP adapter cooler.
*Heavy, my card sags when I take out the GPU brace (not really a big deal because my case has it, but if you don't support your card, it may cause issues later).

Other Thoughts: My stock MSI cooling fan literally melted and fell out of the cooler! After getting multiple BSOD I opened the case and found it hanging by two tiny wires, the GPU had gotten so hot, that the plastic melted. MSI knew about the problem, but wanted up to 2 months to "repair" it. They would not cross ship, or send me a new fan. So I found this cooler, and ordered it. I love it! yes I had to mod the memory coolers, but other than that everything was easy and now works awesome. Its been on the card for two years now running almost 24/7.

I wonder if the memory coolers are even needed?
When I took off the stock cooler, I was surprised to find what looked like double sided foam tape connecting the heatsink to the memory. I can not see how this 1/8" of foam could transfer any heat away from the memory.

The PCI to AGP adapter gets a bit warm with the fan on its lowest setting, but most cards don't even have this chip.

5 out of 5 eggsRuns Great!

Pros: Runs great on my Sapphire x1650. Keeps it cool at 44 degrees C on idle and 58 under load on NFS Prostreet

Cons: No Cons.

Other Thoughts: Nice blue lights. Keeps my card cool rather than the stock fan that was dying leaving it at 60 C.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet and cool

Pros: Pretty quiet in silent mode, while maintaining adequate cooling. Included power cable can be used for other fans, which is very handy. Your video card will look more manly once you get rid of the puny stock HSF.

Cons: At 12v, it's loud. Only run it at this speed if you really need the extra cooling power. I prefer bigger ramsinks for the top side of the video card. LEDs are dim, but I could care less since it's under the video card, so I'll never see it.

Other Thoughts: I have no problems with the ramsinks not sticking. Just clean the ram surfaces and they'll stick really well. Use care when handling the heatsink. If you're reckless, you can get cut by the fins. The package contents also include screws, bolts, rubber rings, etc., in case you're wondering why it isn't shown in the images.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid Product

Pros: I bought this as a replacement for after the fan on my old Radeon 9800 died and I finally got tired of leaving the case open with another fan pointed inside. Install was simple and Zalman's website provided all support to make sure that it fit with my card. I've only had it in for one day but so far everything is great - no overheating at all on a card that melted the plastic fasteners on the stock cooling system. Even set on high it is inaudible, plus the blue LEDs look pretty good. If I ever have to buy another cooling device it is definitely coming from Zalman.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: The unit requires a 4-pin power source that I didn't have available when I installed it so I cannabalized one from the spare dvd player that never gets used anyway. I'm sure some there are plenty of other options to get around this.

5 out of 5 eggsFits the 8800GT

Pros: Installed on a PNY 8800GT card. Instructions are simple and clearly spelled out.
The Blue LED is a nice feature if you have a clear side panel.
Temperature wise, I noticed that the idle temp dropped by 5-6 degrees and under load the temps dropped by 4-5 degrees. Not a stunning drop in temps but still lower than what they were.
In normal mode the fan is audible but not distracting in the least. In silent mode it's barely audible and even then you really need to put your ear near the case to hear it.

Cons: The only con I can really think of is that both newegg and the zalman website fail to list all compatible cards. The 8800GT isn't listed as either compatible or incompatible but it does fit the card.

5 out of 5 eggsOld Machine, New Fan

Pros: This fan took my video card from nearly 60c to 44c at idle and from a peak of 70c (un-overclocked) to 53c (overclocked) at full load. I don't know how everyone else feels about that kind of change but I think that is incredible. It has a cool blue glow to it, but since it points down I cannot see it, oh well. This one with the LED's was actually cheaper than the one without, so that is kind of nice too I suppose since LED's put out virtually no heat.

Cons: Since this was my first GPU fan install I was cautious, the directions aren't super duper clear, but as soon as I got my old fan off I understood exactly what to do. This is no different than a CPU fan, instead of clipping it on you screw it on. It is rather self-explanatory once you get it in front of you. The heat sinks seem a little flimsy, like they wouldn't stick too well, but I suppose that will fix its self after a little burn in.

Other Thoughts: Just make sure that you get a good thermal paste, arctic silver, and really make sure to get the GPU extra clean, get all of that other paste off of it. Don't slather it on there, all you need is a thin layer, I just did 3 small strips from left to right and then spread it with my finger, sat the fan just over the GPU and secured it with the screws. But if you are on the fence while reading this I will make it easy, get this fan, you will not regret it.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent VGA Cooler

Pros: This is my second one of these - the first of which I installed on a 8800GS and had no problems with. This one went on my 4850, and my idle temp went from ~80C to ~45C. That kind of an improvement in temperature is amazing.

Installation is very easy, and I've had no problems with the memory heatsinks coming loose. I very highly recommend this product.

Cons: None.

4 out of 5 eggs6600GT AGP?? kind of..!?

Pros: Nicely designed as usual with Zalman coolers

Cons: Does not fit the 6600GT AGP (MSI) card without having the memory chip heat sinks over half way off the chips to make room for the cooler.

Other Thoughts: If your 6600GT stock fan detonated like mine did, you might want to consider a replacement Geforce 7 series or another 6600 before buying this cooler for the card. It is not exactly the easiest fit and I question the effectiveness of the memory heat sinks since they barely touch half the memory chip surface once the main cooler is mounted to the GPU.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat fit for XFX 8600gt XXX

Pros: Very efficient cooler. Easy install. Fits the 8600gt XXX XFX cards perfect. The little ram sinks are always an awsome bonus too. Idle is around 40-50c and load from 50-60c (arctic 5 not broken in). Very nice since the gpu can go as high as 75c under safe load temps. Led is pretty bright even on lowest setting. GO ZALMAN!!!!!

Cons: Really....cmon....it's zalman :D. NONE!!!!!

Other Thoughts: Not quite the cooling of the all copper version, but you don't need the GPU to be ice cold. Besides understanding electronics means you should know that all devices have an optimal temp that produces max efficeincy that is always a little warm to the touch, and too many people believe the colder the better nowadays not realizing too cool raises electrical resistance same as too much heat. besides my idles are higher cause this thing comes factory OC and the arctic 5 hasn't broken in yet :D
