5 out of 5 eggsVery Very quite!

Pros: Low cost, Copper heat pipes and very very quite.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Keeps my overclocked Fx 8120 oc @ 3.8 46c idle and 54 load. Outstanding air cooling for such a low price. Going to buy another.

- Easy to install to!

4 out of 5 eggsloud and cool

Pros: easy to install and it looks nice. I was able to point it right at an exit fan and it really dropped the temps by a good 8º c tall design means it clears everything on the mobo

Cons: its loud! I had to turn down the fan manually to make it tolerable

Other Thoughts: the directions are very poor

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Quite Cooler

Pros: Low temps on both AM3+ and LGA775 CPU's and both computers no longer sound like small airplanes when Gamming.

Cons: None unless You have a small case.

Other Thoughts: These a very tall so make sure that You have plenty of space, they won't work in an ITX case more than likely.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good CPU cooler

Pros: Very easy installation on AMD AM3+ socket. Cools much better than stock AMD CPU cooler.

Cons: None yet

Other Thoughts: Installed on MSI 970A-G46 mobo with AMD FX 6300 CPU. With stock cooler it would idle at 48-49C and when running Prime95 would reach 65C in about 55 seconds(I stopped the test to prevent CPU damage). With the Zalman CNPS5X installed it would idle at 39C and max out at 54C when running Prime95 for a full 10 minutes. BTW, I did use the thermal grease included with the cooler and it works just fine(saving my Tunia TX-2 grease for another build).

5 out of 5 eggsSmall, simple, quiet, cool

Pros: Direct copper contact the cpu
Shrouded heatsink for maximum air flow and pressure
Really quiet fan for the temps it gets and how small it is
Idles a 4790K at sub 25C
Triple copper heatpipe

Cons: there's indents where the copper and aluminum meet that makes for a small space where contact is not made. I made sure to put lines of arctic silver directly on these spots.

Other Thoughts: I'm sure those indents are there to save cost. I had a 9900 that was an all copper base but much more expensive. If thermal compound is good enough for intel, it's good enough to fill this gap. In the end, the temps are much lower than you'd expect from a very small and very cheap heatsink. If you want better than stock but don't want to damage the wallet, this is definitely the piece. I have two of these now. One at home, (while I wait for the bracket to my water cooling setup) and one at the workstation at my job running an E3-1230v3. I've used zalman for years and this did not disappoint me. Even under load (script mining), temps never got over 60C. Again, highly recommended if you're on a budget

4 out of 5 eggscheap and it works

Pros: its does what l need it to do keep cool enough for some OC ,it was cheap ,takes up little space ,easy to mount on AMD board and did l mention its cheap and works?

Cons: ok my bad probably should ve mounted to mobo before installing it into the case .it cuts good too .
keeps things reasonably quite but a lil noisy but goes away when gaming or watching videos :)

Other Thoughts: it s cheap and it works ok ,but if l upgrade my CPU in the future l might go bigger than this one .
Right now its on 955 BLK OC to 3.5 mostly and keeps it at 65-70 C
l bought this because it mounted to the stock brackets of AMD l wish more coolers did .

4 out of 5 eggsKeeps CPU Cool

Pros: This fan does its job: it keeps my CPU cool. Under a stress test for 30 minutes, the CPU did not go over 50°C -- which is good. The "normal" heat range for my CPU is 50°C to 60°C, with the max being 61°C. Under normal loads, the CPU stays around 30°C (or 86°F).

Cheap! Other aftermarket fans can easily run $40+

Cons: It can be a bit loud, especially at the higher RPMs. If you are looking for a quiet CPU fan, this might not be the fan for you.

If you want a demonstration of just how "loud" it can be, watch this review: http://youtu.be/R7i7xBLClV0?t=3m42s

Other Thoughts: Overall, if you need a cheaper CPU fan to keep your system cool and do not care about how loud it gets, this is a great fan.

As for me, when I get a bit more money, I am planning on upgrading to a quieter CPU fan.

5 out of 5 eggsKick*** cooling capacity

Pros: Had an issue with my CPU overheating on my old computer. So I did LOTS of research and consideration and bought this bad boy here (it was $75 when I bought it if I remember correctly). In all my research (probably 10+ HOURS) I found Zalman makes a dang good product and the Fluid Shield Bearing will last longer than any other part of the fan.

Put it on my computer and my over heating problems as far as CPU were GONE. a friend of mine set my computer up with a monitor where I could keep track of the temps and performance of everything. This thing kept the CPU WELL in the good range and even HE was surprised at the new operating temp.

The overheating eventually moved to the northbridge that got damaged by the initial overheat of the CPU and led to the death of the computer about 5 months later.

Overall to sum it up. GO FOR IT! it's well worth the money,

Cons: it's tall. you may run into fitment issues. and the bracket takes a few minutes to figure out. Other than that the product itself is amazing.

Other Thoughts: btw have you seen the review policies? WOW!

3 out of 5 eggsupdated review

Pros: Cheap
Cooled good
really easy to install, no funky back plates or 100 pieces to put together
included thermal paste was decent

Cons: started making a lot of noise within the 2nd month
always ran at max rpm. Not really a con since it's really quiet, but when I did have cool n quiet enabled and it still didn't go down.

Other Thoughts: I got this on sale for under $20. It worked great for the first 2 months, but when I removed it to replace some case fans it started making a lot of noise. To counter the noise I lowered the fan speed with Speedfan and it worked for a while and never effected the cooling. Then a few weeks later the fan noise (sounded like a wire or thin piece of plastic hitting the fan but nothing was hitting it) came at any speed. it still kept the cpu cool though. After I upgraded to an fx-6300 I bought a new cpu HSF.

For the money this HSF works great. It could handle a 1GHz overclock on my Phenom II x3 720be and stay below 52c. I'm not sure it could do that with a 125w + cpu but for 95w and lower it's great.

I would recommend this cooler if you plan on leaving it there until you upgrade cpus or get a new pc, I think uninstalling it did something to the fan for me.

Just use a good thermal paste/grease like ac5 (that is what I initially used) and you temps shouldn't get to high. If it ever goes on sale again I will buy more, but at regular price you can get better for the same price or a few bucks more. If the fan hadn't gave out so quick it would have earned a 5 star rating.
