2 out of 5 eggsGreat price, poor design.

Pros: Six copper heatpipes.

Polished Copper base.

Aluminum cooling fins are about as large as could reasonably fit inside a mid tower case. Fins are raised just high enough so as not to block low profile memory with a few mm clearance.

The cooler is designed for a lot of different chipsets for both AMD and Intel. Instructions for 1155 work for installing on 1150 boards.

Cooler arrived undamaged, no bent fins or visible quality control issues.

Cons: The copper base was slightly tarnished when it arrived. Zalman should have installed a sticker on the base to prevent contact with air until just before installing the cooler.

Installation is hard. For my motherboard, the MSI Gaming 5, I could not install one of the retaining screws without removing one of the factory installed power distribution heatsinks. The instructions in the manual appear to be written by someone who is not a native English speaker. The diagrams are small and not sufficiently clear.

Mail in rebate was declined despite including all documentation, so this cooler cost me $20 more than I expected.

The provided fan is 135mm and has no bracket! When the fan is running at full speed, you can feel the air escaping through the open ridge and not through the aluminum fins. This is a poor design choice.

After installation, CPU temperatures still hit as high as 99C and throttled when running Prime95. Not sure if this is any better than the stock Intel cooler.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat heatsink

Pros: Price is really good
Quite.

Cons: design is somewhat poor. Heatsink is so huge, my hand is too big to tight screws. I have to take motherboard out to install the heatsink. But for this price I don't think it is a con.

Other Thoughts: I paid $30 for the heatsink. Took me 1 and half hour to install it. I am satisfied with the performance, now my 4790k work under 70C at full load (was 78% with my old cooler master).
Some reviews said the screws are too short, it is not true!!!
If your screws are too short, you must assemble the back plate incorrectly.

1 out of 5 eggsHarmfull Heatsink

Pros: Does a very good job for cooling.

Cons: Very hard to install due to large size. The space left beside RAM is 1 mm or less. Got problem on startup of my mobo because the screws were too tight. Nightmare if you have to install this twice.

Other Thoughts: Would not buy this again. Get another heatsink model.

5 out of 5 eggsWhat more could you want for 10 bucks?

Pros: 10 dollars after rebate so as long as I get the rebate I'm more than happy despite any cons. This thing is HUGE. 6 heat pipes and an all copper contact. Free shipping took 48 hours. Others have said this thing keeps up with water coolers and I believe them it is a MONSTER.

Cons: May be hard to install because of the size and other people have had issues with the hardware. 950 - 1350 RPM for the fan is a very small range and probably negligible but I will most likely be putting a different fan in there anyway. The fan design is kind of poor because it does not force air through the cooler. Even with something like a 212 you do not get an amazing seal from the fan to radiator and the air leaks are not helping your cooling but the fan in the middle of this thing is a joke but I imagine due to the size of this thing you could go fan-less and as long as you don't overclock you will probably keep pretty cool.

4 out of 5 eggsMassive, not easy to install, cools well

Pros: Installed on my 125W Q9550 in a cheap Thermaltake V3.

-Great value, $10 after rebate with free eggsaver shipping: recieve it in just one day, surprisingly

-Cools very well. 33C at idle, comparable to the much noisier stock-style 92mm CoolerMaster it replaced

-Much quieter than the Intel Stock fan

-Very light weight for its size

-Full copper contact surface

-Not TOO tall, fits the Mid ATX V3 very well, height-wise

Cons: -Massive. Truly a huge cooler at 160mm across.

-A major PITA to install. Removed mobo, from start to finish it took about an hour to get everything lined up correctly and torqued down. Don't waste your time trying to install it without removing the mobo, seriously. Even in a full size ATX case.

-The install instructions were fairly well laid out, but there is an error. If installing on an LGA775, do not use the rubber support on the mount, just the double sided tape. Otherwise, the bolts are not long enough.

-I'd recommend using your own thermal compound of preference over the included stuff.

-Did I mention this thing is gigantic? I have it positioned on my MSI mATX venting upward instead of out the back. It is about 1, maybe 2mm away from making contact with the top of the case and wouldn't fit any other way. I also had to relocate the rear fan. But it does fit.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this is a great cooler, and I got it for a phenomenal price. It's very well built, if not terribly well designed for ease of install.

3 out of 5 eggsInstallation is just pain

Pros: It's huge and comes with 6 heat pipes
It's 10 bucks only
It does with it does. 5~7C lower than Hyper 212 plus.
212 plus:
1045T 3.2Ghz. idle 32. Loading: 55C
This:
idle 33. Loading 47.
Still quiet .

Cons: The fan is not controlled by the MB quiet fan function no matter how hard I try to adjust it.
That thermal compound sucks.
Use Arctic Silver 5 instead.

Other Thoughts: I wonder what kind of school the designer went to.
Or may be they hired a "smart" person to do the job.
I mean, did the designer ever try to install that thing by himself? Did he ever try to install other brand HS? Really?.
Difficulty on screwing it right: >LV 90000
Lots of people and review demonstrated it's performance is worst than a 4 Heat pipe 212 EVO. Probably because of the installation. It is very hard to align the base hole with the HS and the pressure is just not right.
But if you get it right, it works well.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Cooler for money

Pros: It kept my FX 8350 idle at 7c and 40c while playing Arma 3

I was able to fit all 4 slots of ram with tall heatsinks

Cons: Huge

Other Thoughts: I bought mine off another site
After going closed loop liquid I would only buy this again in another lifetime.. you only live once go liquid...

4 out of 5 eggsDon't under estimate the size

Pros: - Looks like a sturdy enough design
- Weight was lower than I expected, which I thought would have been an issue.
- Cools great. Stock idle temp hovered around 37-40c
- Very quiet
- Included tool to tighten down bolts, which was surprisingly handy

Cons: - Install wasn't easy on my MSI Gaming 5 Z97 (1150) board/CPU. I had to remove one of the factory heatsinks to be able to screw down one of the 4 bolts. I also had some issues getting the 4 bolts attached down without others popping out. It's tricky, but not nearly as bad as others have said. I got it on in about 10-15 minutes, taking my time to get it right.
- This thing is pretty huge. I had to slightly bend the fins to get my RAM into socket 1, and if it had any cooling fins or other gadgets attached above the RAM, I wouldn't have been able to use DIMM slot 1 at all.
- Did I mention it's huge? I'm building the system out of my case, so I can swap it in when it's ready. I have a feeling that this thing is going to be too tall for my case, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Other Thoughts: I used Arctic Silver 5, but the included CPU goop looked decent enough. Entirely up to you.

Overall, I have complete confidence in it's ability to cool my system, and it's size is all part of the equation. I'll make room for it, but I took off one star because its size might prevent some people from fitting components like large graphics cards and large memory properly.

2 out of 5 eggsDidn't fit

Pros: Large, supports multiple fans

Cons: Difficult to install, to large for the EVGA x79 Dark

Other Thoughts: I really wanted this to work out. But it just will not fit the X79 Dark from EVGA. If you orient it with the fans blowing to the back of the case, you lose two slots of ram. Those two slots actually cause you to lose 4 slots because of the way the X79 Dark needs to have memory filled. This is now an expensive paper weight.
