4 out of 5 eggsNice Cooler

Pros: Super easy installation for Socket 775
10 degree F improvement over stock Intel E8500 cooler
Looks great
Economical

Cons: The fan is not entirely silent.

Other Thoughts: For my purposes the little Zalman is more than adequate. The price is right and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. It's a little noisy but not so much that it's a big detractor. Installation was quick and easy on an Asus Socket 775 motherboard with an Intel Core2 Duo E8500. Suitable for use as a replacement cooler on a stock clocked machine, probably not so much if overclocked.

1 out of 5 eggsDON'T BUY

Pros: - Looks like the thing in Tony Stark's chest
- Cheap
- Can be silent on low RPMs, but literally every cooler can.

Cons: So just like you I clicked on this product for the incredible price and alluring keywords (silent, fluid shield whatever, etc) and saw many reviews about it's silent but cool performance, and I decided to buy it and replace my tiny stock AMD sink. Once it arrived I thought "Okay it looks cool and it includes the thermal compound, great!" but once I installed it that's where I quickly realized its going to melt my board. 50-80 degrees idle and I'm not even going to try to stress test it. I know AMD chips run hot but mine never past 70 degrees while gaming. I thought I installed it wrong, so after cleaning it, re-applying paste, and making sure it was all but welded onto my processor the temps are still the same. I have no clue how other people are getting decent temps from this thing, it might be an AMD bracket issue but this should've been tested before deeming it AMD compatible.

Other Thoughts: Don't roll the dice, invest in a heatsink that costs double or even triple this because you can re-use them for decades.

4 out of 5 eggsworks great simple to install amd MB.

Pros: for $10.00 it gets the job done idle temp is at 22-23 celcious i haven't seen it go over 43 deg celcious after 3+ hours of gaming

Cons: its a little louder than my 5 y/o $17.99 rosewill heatsink and fan but not really a con being that its doing its job for only $10.00 bucks

Other Thoughts: would recommend this, only giving 4 eggs because if i didn't have any thermal paste the tiny little bit that was supplied with product wasn't enough.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than expected

Pros: Attractive, about the same height as a stock intel cpu cooler so no clearance issues, almost silent, cheap!

Cons: larger footprint than expected,my fault honestly..it blocks the ram slot closest to the cpu on this micro atx board. so could use a low height sticks but it was to replace a dead stock fan on a workstation thats already a few years old so I doubt i'll bother, but it could be an issue for other buyers.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice Heatsink

Pros: Very nice CPU cooler design. Had no problems installing on my Gigabyte AMD 690 AM2+ motherboard. In fact, it was so easy that I double checked the instructions to make sure that I installed it correctly. Replaced an AMD cooler that started screaming like a banshee.

Cons: I had recent situation where the fan stopped working and the CPU overheated enough to shut down the system. I had to change the BIOS setting for fan speed control from PWM to Auto. The fan started spinning again. Might be a motherboard issue, as the motherboard is long overdue for replacement.

Other Thoughts: I originally bought this CPU cooler for under $30. Newegg stopped selling it and a Newegg vendor sold it for $60, which is way too high. I'm happy that another Newegg vendor is selling this CPU cooler for under $15. So I ordered one for my file server that is also overdue for a motherboard replacement.

5 out of 5 eggsSmall enough, quiet enough

Pros: Small enough to fit on Micro ATX AM2+ mobo. Silent, unlike the OEM processor fan. Lowered temps. Not expensive.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Using in a WIndows Home server on an X2 250 (Regor), don't need a megacooler

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice cooler. Recommended.

Pros: Low profile.
Quiet enough.
Cools very well.
Perpendicular heat sink blades are much easier to clean (with compressed air) compared to the orientation of the blades of the CM 212+ in our higher-end computer.

Cons: It took a lot of force to get the mounting armature to grab onto the mounting bracket. It really felt like it was putting a tremendous amount of pressure on the CPU.

Other Thoughts: I have a very low-end micro-ATX case that wouldn't be able to fit a single-tower cooler like the CM 212+/Evo. This one fits the bill. The case doesn't have an optical drive or a dust cover for the opti-bay, so I can hear the fan but only when it's spinning very fast. It also does the job well. It's mounted on an i7 4771, and I don't have a video card in this computer, so I'm using the integrated HD 4600 GPU. At idle, the temperature is 30C. I played Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon on medium settings settings. The CPU temperature stayed below 60. I could probably increase graphics settings to High.

I would buy another one of these.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than Expected

Pros: I had another Zalman product (CNPS 9700) that was all aluminum. It was a lot larger than this product, but I downsized because I was buying a new processor and wasn't overlocking this time. I found that this little guy could cool just as efficiently as the larger 9700, plus it is easier to clean. It comes in VERY close to my memory though, so if your memory has large heatsinks on them be careful using this product. I was lucky that I was still able to fit this product on my motherboard.
Specs:
Gigabyte GA H97 D3H ATX motherboard
Intel Core i5 LGA 1150
8 GB GSkill Ripjaws 1600 Mhz memory
GeForce GTX 470 graphics
Intel SSD 530 series
Corsair TX850 watt psu
Fractal Designs Define R4 midsize tower

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: love the "wheel" design of the heatsink but wish that these manufacturers would be more mindful of coming too close to the memory modules

5 out of 5 eggsGood for the $

Pros: Good Price
Free Shipping
Thermal Grease INCLUDED
Fits as advertised
Pretty Darn Quiet
The power cable is not too long so it doesn't get caught up in other fans

Cons: I can't think of a one

Other Thoughts: I wanted a CPU fan that was quieter then what I had on my AM2. At this low price this model was worth a shot. I have had several Zalman CPU coolers over the years and did not regretted buying Zalman. I still don't. The install was a breeze.

Consider what you want the cooler to do. If it is just to be silent this is a good choice. It won't cool your i7 Humpa Humpa gaming rig CPU though
