4 out of 5 eggsgood cooler

Pros: Great cooling, adjustable speed overal great cooler would give it 5 eggs based on performance. Cheap

Cons: alright now like I said it performs great. However my motherboard requires an adaptor piece wich was provided and it was garbage. It does not fit correctly due to poor craftsmanship. Therd was a piece of extra metal protruding from the side like a thorn witch cut my thumb when I picked it up. Also the hole for the adaptor was not tall enough and required extensive force to apply the cooler to my board. And to remove I had to use a flat head screwdriver to detacth it.

Other Thoughts: I understand not everything is going to be perfect. The cooler worka amazingly its great. The adapter is a cheap peice of metal and im greatful the company included it sobi could use the cooler at all. Ill fix it with a grinding wheel and hand tool when I get my mobo replacement.

5 out of 5 eggs8 years old and still kicking

Pros: Bought this cooler back in 2006 for my AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ kept it at 40* under full load with the cpu overclocked. Originally wasn't compatible with AM2 sockets, only had the Intel 775 bracket and AMD 754/939/940 screw in style , Zalman was awesome and sent me the AM2 style bracket for free back in 2009! I put this cooler in a system that I built for a friend back in 2011 and he still has this cooler on his cpu to this day.

Cons: Wasn't free

5 out of 5 eggsSurprisingly good

Pros: Relatively cheap

Keeps cpu cool under load

Blue LED matches my case and fan LEDs

You can tie it to the end of a stick and use it as a weapon. At the right angle, those blades can slice you.

Cons: Not the best cooler on the market, but then again, you're not paying for the best.

Other Thoughts: I like it. This product does exactly what it advertises, and does it well.

I used it on one of those new 4790ks, and at stock, it keeps the cpu at 26C-28C on idle, and 60C under extended full load.

4 out of 5 eggs  Good Product, Tough to Install

Pros: This thing cools 10x better than the stock heatsink in my rig. With the stock setup, my CPU (AMD FX 8-core Zambezi) was idling at 50 degrees Celsius. With this bad boy, it's at 35 degrees Celsius under a pretty full load and about 30 at idle! Also, Zalman is really good at quiet operation. I have it in a Fractal Design Define R4 chassis, so that might also contribute to the quiet operation.

Cons: This heatsink will cut you up like none other. The copper fins are really sharp, so just be careful. Even with taking precautions, I still got cut up. Also, the AMD bracket was a bit hard to install through the heat pipes in a horizontal position. It put more force on the CPU than I felt comfortable with, so I switched it to a vertical mount and that was much better even pressure across the CPU than the other direction during installation.

1 out of 5 eggsFollow up

Pros: Fan works, Fan mate works with adjustment in bios

Cons: Support.
Follow up to my 6-26 review. I saw support posted to my review so the next day i called and they said would send me invoice to pay for bracket. I mean you have to have the bracket to use it so i paid it. That was june 30th. As of this date after paying for it i have called back a couple times they said would send it with tracking number because i paid for it. Well 3 weeks later and still no bracket

Other Thoughts: What good is any item if their is no support. I had a mail in rebate on it so i sent in rebate otherwise i would of sent it back to newegg. So if you get any of these check contents before sending in rebate and if missing anything deal with newegg as zalman has so many online complaints against them you will never get them to honor warranty. They are rated D online only an F rates lower. I hope this saves someone some trouble.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: Promo code + Rebate= Great Value! It was MUCH cheaper than the stock heat sink replacement. I replaced the stock AMD CPU cooler (X6 1090T) with this thing. My Old heat sink/Fan was old & getting Clogged up with Unblowable crud.

I grabbed this not only for the price but It go's right in with the AMD clip so I didn't have to remove the MB!

I used Thermal Fusion 400 & NOT the Inclosed thermal paste.

My temps dropped from around 40C Idle to 33C.
Prime95 stress test went from 68C to 53C

Cons: Only con I see so far is it Does have only a 3 pin fan plug (I didn't use the Fan speed controller) & that still plugged right into the 4 pin MB CPU fan power slot.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat product - need longer mounting screws

Pros: It's quiet and is really cool looking. As long as you have enough room this is a really good fan and is VERY VERY QUIET.

Cons: Like some have commented already, I had a hard time mounting this using the tiny little screws they gave me. I had to get some new M3-size screws to get the fan to screw down securely, since the mount is really a spring-mounted metal bracket. Once you have the new screws it works fine. The instructions are also very poor and not as explicit as you might think.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome cooler

Pros: Quiet
Exotic looking
Very efficient comparing to stock AMD
The fins are wide apart, which should help against gathering dust and clogging

Cons: Expensive

Other Thoughts: Very nice cooler! Very quiet. I messed up the rebate submission though so it came up somewhat expensive. Keeps my overclocked Phenom X6 5C-10C cooler than stock.

1 out of 5 eggsgood cooler bad support

Pros: great cooler i bought two of them.
orients any of 4 ways
fan mate

Cons: 1 of them was great the other one the bottom bracket only 2 holes matched my 1150 socket.

Emailed zalman 2 times with all info trying to get a bottom bracket that fit. The one looks like it is for an older socket as the one that fit the holes were longer in the bracket.

No reply from zalman over a 2 week period so when they leave their email on here in reply to others comments disregard it because they will never email you back and for some we don't have time to call them. I used the email addy they posted here and sent copy of receipt with it and i also used the web form on the support site. So as long as you dont have to contact them it is all good but their support is the worse i have ever seen. I even offered to buy the support i needed now my i7 4790k will be here moday and i will have to use the stock cooler. WONT BUY FROM zalman again and i have bought at least 30 of their coolers for builds for me and others.

5 out of 5 eggsSilent fan that keeps an i7 cool

Pros: I'm running an i7 4790 which is a 3.6 ghz quad core which can turbo to 4ghz when needed, i typically just play games like BF4 and Skyrim. Its usually running at 48-55 Celsius with this fan running at a very quiet 1800 RPMs which i would say is about 35% its max speed. I also was convinced it would look horrible on my black and red msi mobo, it actually looks pretty cool especially when you look into the case in a dim lit room (don't get this confused with a red LED build, i have this and another blue LED in the front)

Cons: The fan controller cant go outside the case? Thats the only thing i wish was different but honestly is that even possible besides having software that can do it? (Not bad enough to dock an egg)
