5 out of 5 eggsThe most solid CPU cooler IMO.

Pros: Quiet. Adjustable speed. Blue LED. Fairly easy to install. Keeps my CPU cool as a motha.

Cons: None for me!

Other Thoughts: Keeps my Core i5 at around 35C under heavy gaming and around 32C most other times. This is one of the most popular CPU coolers for a reason!

3 out of 5 eggsThings to note

Pros: Solid copper and cool to the touch right-out-of-box.
Sleek design.
Simple/versatile efficient.

Cons: Sharp fins, easy to nick/cut yourself on here and there.
Depending on your board/case, you'll have problems mounting this cooler unless you attach it PRIOR to installing the MoBo.
No 4-Pin connection, instead they give you a proprietary adapter to manually control fan speeds*

Other Thoughts: *I'd rather let my system automatically control my fan speeds.
Wish that the mounting for this unit was a little more solid than a spring-steel clip that makes me feel like I'm going to snap my silicone board in half...
Seriously, it's a little taller than a can of coke and obviously larger all-around, but until you see it for yourself, it's difficult to judge the dimensions.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cooling on 125W AM2 processor

Pros: This cooler dropped temp from 75 C to 53 C under load. CPU is an Athlon 64 X2 6000+. Prior cooler was Thermaltake Venus 12. Idle temp with both coolers was similar at 30-35 C. Extremely quiet compared to the Thermaltake cooler.

Cons: Fan speed control is pointless, this cooler is very quiet. The 2 Rosewill RFA-120-K case fans I use are much louder.

Other Thoughts: I wish I bought this cooler back in 2006 when I built this computer. I'm sure it was above my price point back then, but given how huge and expensive many cooler are now this stands out as a bargain.

2 out of 5 eggsNot a 4 pin setup, Fan controller did not work at all.

Pros: Cools well, good materials

Cons: Fan controller inoperative. Had to mount without it. Contacted Zalman last week, waiting for their response still. VERY VERY LOUD. Hope fan controller helps, but why do they use a fan controller when all the reall need is a 4 pin variable setup? Good materials, but poor engineering.

5 out of 5 eggsZalman S9500

Pros: Cools very well for overclocked chips that it fits. The fan has a pretty light and has lasted over 5 years on a rig that has run several hours almost every day.

Cons: It is huge and mounting on a motherboard can be a challenge.

Other Thoughts: This one unit has been used on an MSI P6 diamond motherboard and an Asus P5N-D motherboard on Q2280 and Q6600 chips without issue. Both chips were overclocked by a third and ran cool and stable for years each. I was on here seeing if I can use it for my new socket 1151 build but apparently can't. I figured I'd let you know it has stood the test of time and thousands of hours of use.

5 out of 5 eggs4.914GHz FX-4350: 51.4C

Pros: This all-copper unit looks fantastic. Fan is very quiet, and the unit cools extremely well; it is currently keeping my OC'd AMD below 52C during heavy use. Installation is a breeze on AM3, AM3+ sockets (if you read the instructions) since the only item required is the spring clip; installation on Asus M5A99FX Pro, and Gigabyte GA-990FXA UD3 took less than 2 minutes.

Cons: None at all.

Other Thoughts: I read a lot of complaints about how an item is bad because it "doesn't fit". That is not the fault of the manufacturer, but the builder; check the specs on a product before purchasing to ensure it fits. The builder is responsible for measuring things like case dimensions, video card dimensions, number and types of connectors, and CPU cooler dimensions. I guess I'm the Newegg oddball because I always check the manufacturers webpages for specifications and compatibility of various parts when doing a build. As a result I have not had a single item not fit or work properly. Remember the 6 P's : Proper Planning Prevents P!ss-Poor Performance.
