4 out of 5 eggsScrews do not attach to the fan directly

Pros: Fans give a descent amount of air flow for 40mm. Speed of fan is miss reported on back of box. I saw it said 4500 RPM on the back of the box. When I plugged it into a motherboard I am getting 5400 RPM. Not that this makes much of a difference. Because the fan puts out a descent amount of air.

Cons: why did I give this 4 eggs. Well the last egg is removed because the screws that came with this fan is pure junk. They don't screw into the fan, they are too small they slip through the holes. I ended up having to use epoxy to get the fans in place. This is tricky and annoying but I couldn't find any screws that would fit these holes. Fans still work but just was annoying to install because I had to take apart the front side of a 1U rack mount case to get them in place.

Other Thoughts: good fan for the price. Quiet and puts out a descent amount of air. But don't expect this to do the work of 120mm fan. Just realize that size does matter when it comes to fans. This has it's purpose which is to allow cooling for small devices. If you have the room, go bigger.

4 out of 5 eggsNot actually 5500 RPM

Pros: *Haven't tried it out yet.* (The fan is REALLY tiny, so if you're worried about it being to big, don't.)

Cons: When I got the two I ordered, I got really happy. I then looked at the back and it has "4500" RPM marked, and not what it said:
- 40mm
- 5500 RPM 4.81 CFM
- Ball
- <25 dBA

So either it was marked wrong or it's not actually 5500 RPM, I don't know. But I just wanted to share this before I used it

3 out of 5 eggsCan't mount them

Pros: Seem to move a lot of air. They were not my first choice, but work for my itx plex server.

Cons: Stock screws are too small to mount the fan to the case. They pass right through the mounting holes and there are no nuts to secure them.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks good for cooling Adaptec RAID card!

Pros: Was recommended by another poster to use on the Adaptec 6405 RAID card.

It works very well and reduced the temps on the card!!

Temps without the fan --> 160F - 195F

Temps with Add-On fan --> 120F - 145F

Cons: none so far, worked as expected and ddoes the job I need to keep the RAID card cool

5 out of 5 eggsThey work

Pros: Ordered 4 to make a custom Ram Cooler, only needed 3 but I got 4 just in case one was dead, seemed from the reviews a few were coming DoA or noisy, happy to say all 4 work just fine.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Doubt I'll ever need a fan this size again but if I do I wouldn't think twice about these.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Bought 3 to replace much louder 40mm fans in a 1U case after "downgrading" the server to an Intel Atom Mini-ITX solution. These are much quieter than the fans they replaced (but at the cost of significant air-flow).

Cons: I bought 3. 1 has a tendency to not spin up when powered on via a fan speed controller that has it turned down. I found that another's fan blades would scrape the fan casing, making a loud noise, when mounted in one orientation. Turning it 90 degrees fixed the problem. Be sure to power them up individually after mounting to test.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: I like how thin the fans are and they fit perfectly where i needed them

Cons: They didn't work when i opened them up out of the package. i have them installed in a hard drive cooler and after checking with 3 different power supplies still doesn't work. i hope i can get them replaced.

Other Thoughts: I would buy them again to see if it wasn't just a bad batch, but 4 fans being DOA, makes me thing i'm doing something wrong also.

3 out of 5 eggsGet what you pay for

Pros: Cheap, good airflow

Cons: When I got this fan, I hooked it up and it was loud, by far louder than the rest of the machine combine. I tried knocking the voltage on it down to 5v (instead of 12), and it worked ok but still made a fair amount of noise. I've been running it for 8 months and now its crunching and dying.

Other Thoughts: I had hoped that putting air filters in would stop my fans from dying. Like I expected, there is no dust in my machine now, however the fan is still crapping out. I guess for 3 bucks, I cant complain too much that it only lasted 8 months.

3 out of 5 eggsSmall and Irritating

Pros: Good price, nice small size that can fit... anywhere!

Cons: I bought these little fans to fit on my case and provide a little extra cooling because i was having some heating issues. I bought 3 to line up on a grill I had near the bottom of my case. Once I got them all hooked up, they assalted my ears with a high pitched buzzing noise. Even when i unplugged 2 of them and just left one running, it was still annoying.

Other Thoughts: The extra airflow they provided definately wasnt worth the extra noise, especially because my current build is pretty quite. If you don't have a quite build or can handle the extra noise, then these might work out for you.
