5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Does what it should, quiet.

Cons: none I can think of.

Other Thoughts: I used this a bit differently than others:

Turned it around, to bring in fresh air from the front and having it blow air directly behind a 120mm fan that is blowing onto the graphics card... great way to add positive numbers to case intake, and brought my card temps down nicely.

Using a bit of silencing foam and cardboard, (from newegg shipping boxes) I was able to create an airtight housing within the 3.25 bay area in order to segregate this fan, and ensure it only pulls fresh air from the front.

*thumbs up*

5 out of 5 eggsMoves plenty of air

Pros: This thing moves a lot of air, and starts off pretty quiet.

Cons: After about two months it started to start up noisily, but give it fifteen minutes and it quiets down. Also, those front edges can be sharp.

1 out of 5 eggsMislabled item & doesn't fit

Pros: Moves air nicely

Cons: It's mislabeled as a PCI slot fan, but it's actually designed to be installed in a 3.5" slot. But then it doesn't fit into the 3.5" slot it's designed for. It'll fit into the bay, but then is too wide to extend outside the case.

4 out of 5 eggsNice to help cool long vid card

Pros: Moves alot of air. Eliminates the hot pocket of air at the back of long video cards. Acceptable noise.

Cons: Designed to exhaust down front of case where I have an intake, so I installed upside down to exhaust up. Sharp edges need to be removed.

Other Thoughts: Should be labeled as 3.5" case cooler. The exhaust panel should be closeable with a push button release and a bezzel so if you need to turn it upside down things cant fall into the fan. I'd pay another $5 for this.

5 out of 5 eggsI like it

Pros: Moves a heckuva lot of air
Pretty easy install

Cons: Won't work in all applications
Listed as a PCI slot fan, but it's not

THIS SHOULD BE REDESIGNATED APPROPRIATELY AS A 3.5" FLOPPY SLOT FAN. NOT A PCI SLOT FAN.

Other Thoughts: Haven't tested temps yet, but you can feel the large amount of air it moves. I put this in my makeshift copy tower to help dissipate heat build up when doing long runs of DVD's. It sits at the top of the case, so all the hot air that drifts up will get sucked out in a hurry.

Newegg calls this a PCI slot fan, but it is clearly not, somewhere in the description though it does mention it's for a 3.5" floppy drive slot.

Installing is pretty easy, but won't work in brand name manufactured computers that have specially designed cases with akward floppy drive covers on the front. Not that anybody's making computers these days with floppy drives... As others have mentioned, the mounting holes are not threaded, so that takes a little bit of extra effort. But anyone who assembles their own rigs has dealt with much worse.

All in all, happy so far with the product. We'll see how long it holds up.

5 out of 5 eggsquiet and works as advertised.

Pros: This case cooler is quiet, and it circulates air effectively. The concept of this case cooler makes sense, since it is actually moving the air out rather than just circulating it around inside the case.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: The case with this cooler has a drive immediately below it and above it (with only a few millimeters, or about a quarter of an inch, between the intake and the drive above it)-- and it still moves air with noticeable force when you put your hand in front of it.

The diagram at the manufacturers website shows the recommended positioning for this type of fan, and is what made me decide upon getting it.

3 out of 5 eggsCooling fan

Pros: It comes with a speed controller

Cons: It's a 3.5" floppy fan, if something is on top, don't count on it moving air.

Other Thoughts: By itself, near nothing, it works okay.

1 out of 5 eggsKinda Useless

Pros: It's red.

Cons: Horrible exhaust location. (Front of pc.) Does not significantly move enough air to have an effect.

Other Thoughts: Better off cutting holes in ur case and custom installing fans.

4 out of 5 eggs8.24 CFM

Pros: It matches the pics

Cons: It states only 8.24 CFM on the back of the box

Other Thoughts: I've seen both the box rating, 8.24 CFM, and the 42 CFM # on other sites. Hopefully it's closer to the 42 CFM rating once I install it. It has forward curved fan blades which look odd to me.

5 out of 5 eggsnot pci slot

Pros: moves alot of air. easy to install. does what it says. lowered my temp about 10 - 15f degrees. and very quiet, cant even hear it. i got one for every computer

Cons: THIS IS NOT PCI SLOT FAN... THIS IS A 3.5" BAY FAN...

Other Thoughts: if you have 3.5" bay kind in the middle of case is best. this is an exhaust fan only, unless you want it to stick out about 5 inches. and about a inch sticks out the front where air comes out.
