3 out of 5 eggsfunctional

Pros: Looks nice, and is PWM controlled. Keeps the Sempron it's attached to cool.

Cons: Whiny at low speeds, and loud at high speeds. Minus two stars.

Other Thoughts: I'd rather have the stock AMD cooler.

1 out of 5 eggsterrible

Pros: makes a good paperweight

Cons: Does not work as well as stock cooler. Runs 10 to 15 degrees (celsius) hotter under load (That's a LOT). Cools about the same at cpu idle.

Other Thoughts: Bought this for a htpc build project in a micro case with very limited space. Added a higher speed ball bearing fan for improved cooling and reliability when installed. Even with fan running full speed at all times computer would overheat and blue screen. Tried different heatsink compounds and both fans (faster one and original one) to no avail. Went back to original fan and computer stayed much cooler. Highly NOT recommended for anything but a paperweight.

4 out of 5 eggsI agree.....

Pros: It's a heat sink and fan combo.....that's about it. Use only on cpu's under 89w tdp. Doesn't cool very well for a cpu rated at 95w tdp.

Cons: FAN will not slow down, probably due to the tdp of my lil quad core cpu. Not the fans fault, mine. I needed a quick hs/fan and aluminum is no good for tdp's over 89 watts I guess. Go copper.

Other Thoughts: I will take it off and re-apply my thermal compound, but even if it cools any better I will still replace with a copper base hs/fan. My cpu is rated at 95w tdp and it is running 120f, to high for me and also to noisy. I'm sure this would work great on a 65w tdp cpu, which I have and which I will switch it out on when my copper base comes in so I'm not out, I needed a fan for my oem cpu that came without one and this will work til then. I thought ahead at least, so I'm not out the pocket change this thing cost. Great price if your cpu is low wattage. I plan on sticking it on a 65w amd 5000 brisbane I have laying around once my cheap mobo arrives.

1 out of 5 eggsuseless - don't buy

Pros: Makes a good paperweight

Cons: On average, even with a better fan, runs 5 to 7 degrees celcius HOTTER than stock fan/heatsink that came with my computer.
Keep looking, this isn't the one you want.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible

Pros: Low profile, great size for Mini-ITX HTPCs

Cons: PWM? Doesn't work. Stays full speed all the time - 2900RPM.
Noise? Louder than my desktop's fans - definitely not suitable for HTPC applications.
Heatsink material? Aluminum only, no copper anywhere near this thing.

Other Thoughts: I ordered this thinking that it had PWM, it has 4 pins right? The box also has a little sticker on it that is emblazoned PWM FUNCTION. Guess what? On the board, either setting the fan throttling to manual or auto, it always runs full-bore 100%. And 28dB? Maybe if you have earplugs in. Considering I liked the low profile heatsink, and I have a 92mm PWM fan that with its heatsink was too tall for my application, I swapped the fans and lo and behold, on bootup the fan runs at 20% speed (700RPM) unless it needs to move more air - AND, I can't hear it.

The cooler is simply not as described in more than one way (noise, PWM) and overall was not worth buying.
