1 out of 5 eggsDon't get this for your video card

Pros: It blows air.

Cons: I ordered this fan for an XFX card about a year and a half or so ago... The fan was the correct size but the hole on the mounting bracket were spaced too close together for the video card's mounting holes in the cooling fins. I ended up breaking one of the little plastic "nubs" of the fan's bracket. It worked for a while but it was totally "micky-mouse". Got another one of these and saw that the hole in the bracket don't line up with the holes in the GPU's cooler AGAIN... an MSI GTX460 HAWK... Did not bother to try and mount the fan...

Other Thoughts: Just grabbed two 80mm case fans and zip-tied them to the cooler on the MSI card. Works great. I got a Zalman cooler for the XFX card... THat actually worked pretty good too.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: right size

Cons: didn't work

Other Thoughts: i bought this to replace a broken fan on my graphics card. i had to superglue it to the fan shroud since the mounting holes didn't line up. get everything hooked up and then try to use it and the fan doesn't work. now i have a superglued fan on my graphics card that was broken from factory. guess i should have tested it before i put it on.

5 out of 5 eggsGigabyte 6850 Windforce2x fixed

Pros: -Upon opening the product I immediately noticed the weight of the fan, it has that solid "heft" feeling to it like a good quality speaker or power supply.
-Fan is 100% identical to the OEM fans included on the Gigabyte 6850 Windforce2X. Same blade sizes/angles everything.
-Using the 3 pin adapter to my mobo, I would say that the new fan makes less noise than the original fans at 25% speed.

Cons: -The screw holes didn't align with the stock cooler, this was expected though.
-The two pin connector on the fan was too large to fit the socket on my graphics card (by about 50%). I was tempted to solder the connectors onto the original but got lazy and used the included 3 pin adapter to my mobo.

Other Thoughts: I have two Gigabyte 6850's in crossfire (Four 80mm fans total) so I was hard pressed to invest any real money for a new GPU cooler when I"ll probably end up getting new cards soonish. I got this fan on sale for six bucks and will definitely rebuy if another one of my fans go out.

The original screw holes aren't going to fit your GPU, expect that. I used some thick (~1mm) double sided tape under each mounting arm and couldn't be happier.

2 out of 5 eggsCouldn't use it

Pros: It's a fan that works

Cons: I can't attach it to my video card because the mounting piece does not line up with my video card at all.

5 out of 5 eggsReplacement fan for ASUS HD 4870

Pros: This fan gave new life to my ASUS Radeon HD 4870. The original fan on the video card died a year after I got it... The computer would turn on and eventually the video card would heat up and the computer would shut down. This fan, although not an exact fit was close enough to be able to take place of the original fan and cool the video card heat sink.
For general use and even for gaming, I run the fan at low rpms and it allows me to run games without worrying about temperatures.

Cons: It was not an exact fit for my video card but it did the trick.
It is a bit loud when run at full RPM but that only happens when I'm playing games at High resolutions. Otherwise it's quiet.

2 out of 5 eggsWorks, but just barely

Pros: Works when spliced to 4-pin PWM from Twin Frozr 2 560ti.

Cons: This may be a purposeful alteration by MSI to force you to contact them for an RMA if you need a fan replacement, but, as others have mentioned, the bracket is slightly different, so I needed to glue the fan on rather than screw it on.

It's been approximately 6 months and the fan, as the one before it did (same fan, Evercool EC8010), is starting to rattle. I bought this one to replace the old one since the bearing was going out and the noise was becoming annoying. It's only a matter of time before this one does the same.

I'm disappointed by the quality of these bearings. I have case fans that are close to 10 years old and are still going strong. I find this unacceptable.

3 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: My GPU now remains at a cool enough temperature to play my newer games without overheating. It is amazing that with even two desk fans blowing on the card it would always overheat in certain games.

Cons: I have no idea who decided on the measurements for this thing. The screw holes are much bigger than I have seen on any modern video card. Just used a tiny bit of epoxy to secure it in. Now I might have to do some damage to remove it in the future, but for now it works.

Other Thoughts: These fans are worth it for the low cost and availability. No retailers tend to sell replacement fans. If you need a fan and you have some super glue, buy this fan.

5 out of 5 eggsJerry Rigged

Pros: Fan works well.

Cons: The screw holes on this don't aline with my cards(MSI 580 twin frozerII, or something). So I gorilla glued the fan base to the heatsink frame instead. So far so good.

Other Thoughts: With bios control I set the fan to stay at 50% power, at 100% it's too loud. I bypassed the graphics card power and used my motherboard with another adapter I bought.

1 out of 5 eggsno way to tell if it will fit

Pros: It's a fan

Cons: I tried to replace the dying Power Logic PLD08010S12H vga fan on my MSI N240GT with this. It does not fit. There is no way to tell which model will fit, don't even bother trying.

Other Thoughts: MSI cards stink, this is the second time my fan died in 3 years.

1 out of 5 eggsMore trouble than it's worth

Pros: Cheap, quiet. It's black.

Cons: I bought as a replacement for the stock VGA fan for my HIS 5770, the two pin connector doesn't fit, the mounting bracket is way too small, the holes are too big so you can't use the stock screws. This fan doesn't come with any of it's own screws for the oversized holes.

This fan DOES NOT tell you which cards it is compatible with AT ALL. I took a chance and was thoroughly let down and disappointed.

What should have been a painless and easy install, took about an hour to finally rig it to work, finally went out and bought some JB weld and soldiered the wires to the pins.

Other Thoughts: DO YOUR RESEARCH
