3 out of 5 eggsThis sucker is BIG!

Pros: Does the job very well.

Cons: Cumbersome, Hard to install, hard to work around.

Other Thoughts: Starting to dabble with multi-thread programming, I'm writing a computer emulator with a desire to see how fast I can make it by simulating pipelining. I built a new box just for that purpose, and being concerned by how much CPU heat I might generate, I chose this cooler as the most bang for the buck. It's not the most effective cooler, and certainly not the cheapest, but it seems to be at the knee of the price - performance curve (I found a comparison review where a number of coolers were tested.). In the end, I'm very happy with the performance, BUT...

It's so big, I had to buy a new case, as it wouldn't fit in my old one. it needs close to 8" wide case - BEWARE!

Once I got it installed I was unable to reach the fan connector, and had to uninstall it, connect the fan, then reinstall.

The standard fan mounting system that comes with it is a joke. As the bottom fin just barely clears the memory cards ('m not sure that it doesn't actually touch), the standard mount just doesn't work. I ended up hanging the fan in place with a nylon tie!.

Testing - I wrote a simple, tight, CPU loop program to be absolutely CPU bound. With my AMD FX-8 and my original setup with the stock cooler, I was able to run a max of 3 instances without exceeding 60 degrees C. With the TITAN, I was able to run 8 instances reaching ~ 65 degrees. Admitadly, the whole system is much better designed for cooling, with 2 addditional fans (beyond the standard one that's tie wrapped on) pointing at the cooler.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Quality Cooler

Pros: I run an AMD Phenom II x4 955 OC'd to 3.8ghz (240mhz x 16/HT @ 2400mhz...MSI 890GXM-G65 motherboard, G.Skill 1600mhz ddr3 ram CL9) and I idle at 26c using the Antec Nano-Diamond Formula 7 thermal compound. Never reach temps over 50c (and thats pushing it with prime 95). Overall I'm very satisfied with this cooler.

Cons: I bought this cooler on an open box discount...Had bent fins and a couple of screws missing, but I had spare screws and a pair of pliers handy to fix that. Won't be docking an egg because I knew what i was buying with an Open Box Product.
