5 out of 5 eggsWorks good

Pros: Fits just like it's supposed to and holds the heatsink and fan just fine.

Cons: None. I don't particularly like the partner shipping experience between DHL and USPS. FEDEX and USPS was not so bad. Will most likely just pay the extra for 3-day shipping from now on.

Other Thoughts: Bought a FX8350 and found out that my Antec Kuhler H2O 620 was not pumping. Had to order this to mount the AMD heatsink/fan to allow sufficient cooling. Lost my original mounts and glad that these were available.

5 out of 5 eggsHard to find parts

Pros: Perfect fit.

Metal back plate (not plastic).

Cons: I can't think of anything that would detract from this.

Other Thoughts: Had to replace my mount after removing an after market cooler that replaced the back plate.

Looked around only to realize i had lost my original back plate.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Sturdy

Pros: Well constructed, fits my old AM2 socket.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: My original retention bracket on my AM2 socket HTPC died about a year ago. Have purchased 2 replacements before this one. They both fail within a few months. This wasn't specifically made for AM2+ socket, but it works fine. Seems a lot sturdier than the other replacements. Fairly confident this will last a good while.

4 out of 5 eggsFunctional

Pros: Tough plastic with a solid steel backing plate.
Easy installation.

Cons: Installed on an old Biostar AM3 board. Seems this bracket makes for a much tighter retention pressure than stock ones that come from MB manufacturers. Made my normally easy to install heatsink a bit of a pain. The plastic nubs where the retention clips fasten could stand to be more rounded to ease installation of heatsinks.

5 out of 5 eggsAMD Socket Retention Holder

Pros: What's not to like? If you need this, because you removed your old retention bracket for whatever reason and you need to put one back on, this is an easy buy. There's really nothing to it, but what there is, is well made.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as Intended

Pros: An excellent replacement to the OEM bracket in a 2 part design.

Cons: It's only available in black plastic.
(a polished forged chrome retention bracket kit might conduct electricity, but would look shiny!)

Other Thoughts: I didn't even use the supplied back plate, which was metal. I simply used the stock plate provided on my GigaByte which looked nearly the same.
