3 out of 5 eggsGood fan, Bad Q&A

This review is from: AeroCool Shark 140mm Black Edition 140mm Case cooler

Pros: *High AirFlow
*Very Low Noise *when working right*
*LEDs don't burn your eyes out *Major Plus!*
*Looks Great in a Air 540 case :D

Cons: *Price, there a bit more then what I like paying for a fan, But you usually get what you pay for ?
*as at least 1 person has posted, these 140s are Picky how they want to be installed ? Which is Very odd.
*mine started to make a wobbling/rattle sound about 2 weeks into its install onto my Air 540 and an Exhaust.

Other Thoughts: I now have this fan on the Top of my Air 540, seems to have fixed its wobbling/rattle noise, how ever I'm still worried that its going to get worse. I should be able to place these fans how ever I please without worrying if its going to freak out an start making noise etc. An for the price I expect quality products that don't wobble the day you get it. This things been a wobbler since I got it, and to test that out just hook 1 of these up an don't screw it in and your see what I mean if you got what that does.

I think I may try a few more of these, just incase this was part of a bad batch *it happens*, otherwise I am sticking to there 120s I have 3 of them and there perfect.

1 out of 5 eggsGood for Vertical, Terrible for Horizontal

This review is from: AeroCool Shark 140mm Black Edition 140mm Case cooler

Pros: High Airflow
Somewhat quite
Amazing fan for vertical placment, side, front, ect

Cons: I bought two for the top of my case, in the horizontal position as exhausts and they have both, in less than a week, started making a horrible grinding noise
They also wobble when they spin and this probably caused them to eventually break
They are high end fans, fluid bearings, high price so i would expect a decent working fan regardless of placement...

Other Thoughts: I have 4 120 mm versions of this fan and they are all over 6 months old with no problems

1 out of 5 eggsNoisy, whirring sound

This review is from: AeroCool Shark 140mm Black Edition 140mm Case cooler

Pros: -- Looks nice in my case with the blue LED's

Cons: -- LOUD, sounds like something is rubbing or like a fan with worn out bearings or bushings!
-- Fragile frame
-- No vibration control other than the practically impossible to use rubber fasteners
-- Air flow okay but not impressive in any way

Other Thoughts: Just received and installed this fan today expecting something pretty decent for this price. This thing sounds like it blew a tire or something, it's louder than the other 5 fans in my case combined! I'm not sure if this fan is defective or if they are all this loud and terrible sounding. Even at 40% this thing is just too noisy to use. With this being my first experience with Aerocool, it will probably be my last.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: AeroCool Shark 140mm Black Edition 140mm Case cooler

Pros: High airflow and silent. Great for radiators or case fans.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have had these for 2 yeas now and they are still running great. I use several of these and 120mm ones on a fan controller and at certain medium-low speeds there is a "clicking" but easily adjusted by going a little higher or lower. Overall great fans.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent fan, bad vibrations

This review is from: AeroCool Shark 140mm Black Edition 140mm Case cooler

Pros: -Effective fan blade design.
-Price is not outrageous for the maximum CFM rating.
-Blue LEDs are neither too bright nor too dull.
-As quiet if not quieter than stock fans under certain conditions.

Cons: Fan makes a major humming noise and vibrates in certain positions.
I am using it as a top exhaust fan, and at RPMs over 1100, the fan blades vibrate and become very loud. This does not occur when the fan is in a vertical position, ie, if used as a front intake fan, and is very quiet at full RPM. The fan does however push more air than the stock fans at 1100 RPM.

Other Thoughts: My case allows for 2 x 140mm top exhaust fans, and 1 x 140mm intake fan. It came with a blue LED front intake and a standard top exhaust fan. I was hoping to eventually swap the stock fans out with these, and add one to the top exhaust. However, because of the vibration and noise it makes when used as top exhaust fan, I cannot see myself purchasing 2 more for my case. I am currently using it as a top exhaust, but at the same RPM (1100) as the stock case fans. As noted in the Cons section, it pushes more air, but I'd much rather it run at full RPM. Eventually I will switch this to the front intake, but it is unfortunate that this series of fans can't really be used in any circumstance. While it is not a bad product, I can't recommend it as such a generic part can only be used in one position.

5 out of 5 eggscooling fans

This review is from: AeroCool Shark 140mm Black Edition 140mm Case cooler

Pros: Great fans! Good cooing ability and they move a lot of air. Very quiet with the 15 fan blades. In WWII they used additional propeller blades to reduce the noise of planes. Works for fans too! The leds look cool too!

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect fan on the following conditions

This review is from: AeroCool Shark 140mm Black Edition 140mm Case cooler

Pros: Well built Amazing quality

Cons: does not have a fan speed controller like other antec fans

Other Thoughts: Do not purchase if you dont have a fan speed controller on your computer Or else if you do have a rpm control panel very good fans ive had a bunch of antecs before and they snap and break without me even touching them these areocool fans are extremely durabl
