5 out of 5 eggsExcellent fans, perfect after 3 months 24/7 on max!

This review is from: bgears b-PWM 120 Black 120mm PWM technology mini 4 pin 4 wire 2 ball bearing high speed high performance 15 blades Case Fan

Pros: 1) Noise: I am one of these people who will tolerate a little noise for better cooling, as I run my rigs for 3-5 years on 24/7, so cool temps are a must. But noise has NOT been an issue at all with these little fans. They have been definitely QUIETER then the CoolerMaster stock 120mm fans that came with rig and from the Hyper 212 CPU cooling kit (heatsink + 1 fan clipped on heatsink).

2) Reliability/quality: 1st fan has been running at max speed back of CoolerMaster case 24/7 for well over a year and it is perfect. These fans have outlasted the dang stock Cooler Master fans which died after 1 year! :( The 2nd fan is 3 months old, perfect.

3) Appearance: I love the several smaller blades. It looks nice, spin fast and 2k RPM, and looks great blended inside a CoolerMaster black ATX case. NO LEDs!! Yes!! I like how I can check inside case and ensure fans are spinning easily with this fan due to small sticker on center in intake side of fan.

4) Price: Affordable under $20 bucks. What can you get for $20 "pesos" these days anyways?? They print the greenbacks so fast, these are basically worthless for this 2009-2015 Pres terrible period.

5) Effectiveness: I have only done basic benchmarks on the fan since I do have a life and I basically tested before and after using HWMonitor for tests on a Gigabyte MoBo setting. Same temp at night throughout tests and keep records.

Anyway, the fan pushes INSANE AMOUNTS OF AIR and CPU temps dropped about -3 Celsius. The case fan has been there for almost a year now and

6) Complete and ready to use with no extra parts needed (comes with screws, adapter, and fan)! Comes with adapter, so you can hook these up to power supply via MOLEX cable (my choice for max speed, 24/7 spin) or into 3-pin or 4-pin.

Great fan, period. Get it.

Cons: None. The fan is black, no LED light, which I love, black color, and simple and effective design. Works well, quiet, and affordable.

ALWAYS KEEP AN EXTRA FAN ON HAND if you ever have one die on you on a Sat night when you have a school paper next day! :) It saved my bacon for sure!

Other Thoughts: I installed the first fan a couple years back on the rear of the case, since the cheapstakes at CoolerMaster did not put even a simple 120mm fan on back of case. -_- This b-Gears 120mm fan runs at full speed (2,000 rpm) on case rear (since that is how I roll :) and I hear almost nothing from it.

My CoolerMaster Hyper 212 CPU heatsink-fan cooler kit and the dang fan on it died after less then 1 year!! :( So thankGod I had the 2nd b-Gears fan because it was Sat night and I needed the PC to work so I could finish school work! I removed clip from 212 Hyper and installed this fan and temps for CPU are actually running ~ -3 Celsius cooler! Not huge, but good for me.

I hook all my fans to MOLEX as that keeps Motherboard with as little energy drain as possible to make MoBo last.

I put a vibration and noise dampening rubber gasket I bought separately on fan during install and I am sure that helped with vibration and noise too. Get one of these Nexus SA-120 120mm Silicon Absorber (or similar silicone absorber to help quiet vibration noise) and you will be one happy camper! lol

The fan on back of case is still going strong after well over a year, going on 2 years! The 2nd fan is also running full speed 24/7 as the Hyper 212 heatsink cooling fan and is very silent inside case and is doing its job very very well.

Hope this info helps! Great fan! :)

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible Quality Control

This review is from: bgears b-PWM 120 Black 120mm PWM technology mini 4 pin 4 wire 2 ball bearing high speed high performance 15 blades Case Fan

Pros: None

Cons: This fan was dead on arrival. Not worth the hassle of returning it. Opened it up. Two of the 4 power leads cold soldered. Fixed that, it still didn't work. Very poor quality.

4 out of 5 eggsFans

This review is from: bgears b-PWM 120 Black 120mm PWM technology mini 4 pin 4 wire 2 ball bearing high speed high performance 15 blades Case Fan

Pros: Move air, have the needed connections.

Cons: Ordered 4, 1 was DOA. I have a Coolermaster Cosmos insulated case and even in that box they are loud. Like hairdryer loud.

Other Thoughts: If noise isn't a concern, they'll do the job, just be ready to RMA it

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME!!!!

This review is from: bgears b-PWM 120 Black 120mm PWM technology mini 4 pin 4 wire 2 ball bearing high speed high performance 15 blades Case Fan

Pros: I bought 3 of bgears fans.... and they are great!!! Powerful and more than enough air flow. Sadly the 120 mm fan didn't but sometimes you get those and i don't regret giving it another chance. Although it doesn't have any LED's it does have a slot for them.

Cons: NONE!

3 out of 5 eggsTL;DR: noise:airflow better on paper than in practice

This review is from: bgears b-PWM 120 Black 120mm PWM technology mini 4 pin 4 wire 2 ball bearing high speed high performance 15 blades Case Fan

Pros: Bought two at another site. These are advertised as moving 110CFM and 37.3 dB at max speed. For reference, 37 dB is slightly quieter than ambient noise at a library or a refrigerator humming.

My temps are no higher than they were before I installed these.

Cons: Unfortunately, while running at similar RPMs to my other fans these produce far, far more noise - even while idling - at temps that are identical to my previous Scythe Slip Streams rated ~75 CFM.

In fact, when these spin up to high RPMs it's my opinion they actually FAR exceed the rated 37.3 dB. If I had to guess, I'd say two fans at max speed produce noise similar to using a hairdryer or hand-held vacuum cleaner ~65 dB. Iphone app maintained over 70dB at max load sitting on my desk fwiw, with ambient noise ~50dB - though I don't know how accurate the app truly is.

I have these in an airflow-and-wiring-optimized 21" tower, in addition to a Thermaltake LED fan and a Rosewill (both 120mm), and the Bgears fans overpower everything else in the case (and the room) in terms of noise. In fact, I'll probably switch to gaming and listening to music with headphones, whereas I never used to do so on account of fan noise.

There are other fans which will yield similar temps while making less noise.

Other Thoughts: I'm not displeased with the fans' performance, and I'm not opposed to the noise of a lot of air being moved (I've owned high-airflow fans before), but I did expect some temp improvement for the noise increase. Next time I'll likely get more Scythe fans and just replace them as they die (every year or two).

2 out of 5 eggsDissappoointed

This review is from: bgears b-PWM 120 Black 120mm PWM technology mini 4 pin 4 wire 2 ball bearing high speed high performance 15 blades Case Fan

Pros: Cheap, 4-pin variable speed works well

Cons: Noisy

Other Thoughts: I bought three of these to cool my white box virtualization server and keep noise to a minimum in my office. When the CPU is idling, two out of the three fans make noise. One whines/grates, and the second one occasionally makes a clicking sound. This only happens at low speed -- at high speed they sound like an attic fan.

I guess should have bought Noctua.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than the new 120mm Nocuta-IndustrialPPC Fans

This review is from: bgears b-PWM 120 Black 120mm PWM technology mini 4 pin 4 wire 2 ball bearing high speed high performance 15 blades Case Fan

Pros: Mostly quiet, sitting at 60% in a silent room when computer is cold and when it kicks to 100% you hear airflow noise not motor noise so you really can phase it out with or without headphones. Also, it pushes MAD amounts of air. I have only one for an exhaust but man can you count on it to get the heat out, it really is impressive.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Their fans are pretty much silent even at full blast when their exhausting air vs in-taking air, they make a bit of noise in-taking but it's definitely worth it, keeps my FX-8350 OC'ed at 4.7 ghz, it sits right next to it and keeps the heat away from everything else very well.
Then again I am using a Noctua NH-U14S but still, amazing performance.

Also, the reason for the title of this review is I converted Nocuta's new IndustrialPPC fans cubic meters to cubic feet and their new 120mm fans are performing airflow wise the same as this one but, believe it or not, the Noctua's actually get louder than this at max speed, so if your looking at the new 120's, stop and get this. Oh and their new fans will be more than likely be around 40-50$ a piece, these are 17$.

5 out of 5 eggsNice fan

This review is from: bgears b-PWM 120 Black 120mm PWM technology mini 4 pin 4 wire 2 ball bearing high speed high performance 15 blades Case Fan

Pros: Almost always wiser quite, but if things get hot it can crank up and push a lot of air.

Cons: The pwer stub cable a little flimsy, but you really want to plug into the mobo to get the PWM to work.

5 out of 5 eggsTHESE THINGS BLOW AIR

This review is from: bgears b-PWM 120 Black 120mm PWM technology mini 4 pin 4 wire 2 ball bearing high speed high performance 15 blades Case Fan

Pros: BLOW MAD AIR
QUIET
QUALITY

Cons: can be loud at full blast, but they are cooling your cpu like a boss, so its not really a con

Other Thoughts: I got these fans for my xigmatek dark knight 2 cooler, and let me tell you, when on PWM, they are silent. They are even silent when playing games. I couldnt get over how much air they pushed too, oh man.

Once you start pushing the overclock, these motha's turn up and deliver. THey get loud, but they pump 110cfm, and can you ever tell. My 7850k @ 4400mhz and 1000mhz gpu never went above 55 degrees. Im fully amazed. I would buy these again.

Get them on sale though, dont pay full price...
