3 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Works, large cooler, great airflow

Cons: Very big, make sure it fits in case, hard to get set up, noisy, you can get a closed loop for the same price that performs better.

5 out of 5 eggsworks perfect

Pros: excellent cooling capability. Very high ambient temps and pushing my 3570k to it's max, almost frying the chip, it never went above upper 80s, even with poorly applied TIM.

Cons: Couldn't fit second fan on it and have my side panel fan on at the same time but that's strictly on me, soo...
It wasn't free? ;P

Other Thoughts: Cools better than I was expecting, especially being in the tropical climates. High ambient temps, very hot room(32ºc at times). Case is highly optimized for airflow so that may have some effect on my results.. Would definitely recommend to anyone with a large case. Heads up, this thing is friggin massive, like sears tower kind of huge. I had to leave the bottom sitting fan off so I could use my 200mm side panel fan, or leave the SP fan off and have my second cooler fan.. I chose to ditch the second cpu cooler fan and stick that elsewhere in the case LOL

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Cooler

Pros: The installation was easy. It does an amazing job at cooling my overclocked i7 3770 @ 4.3ghz. Idle it stays around 30 degrees celcius. And when rendering 1080p video in Sony Vegas Pro 12 it stays under 70 degrees celcius, usually around 65.

Cons: Fans can get noisy when turned up all the way.

5 out of 5 eggsvery satisfied

Pros: IT COOLS!!!
comes with 2 fans for push pull
build quality is amazing
comes with "Y" connector for both fans
no pump to fail, no worry about water leaks

Cons: cooler is tall - you will need a full tower case!!
front fan will block one of your ram slots

Other Thoughts: I Love this cooler, Looks amazing in my TT Chaser MK1.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent Job

Pros: Great Cooling. Average Temperature among the 4 cores of my 3770 is a 28.75C, ambient in room is 23.33C. Looks cool with a white scheme.

Cons: Mounting system was hell. Was not sure what way to put some of the pegs in. Not even sure if i have it in right, right now. Vibrates slightly, but I don't thing anything is wrong due to the excellent temperatures. Fans are actually quite loud, and kind of vibrate when the RPM is ramped down. When undervolted, seemed to disappear ianterestingly enough. probably a flaw with mine specifically, and not really a fault of the fan in general. Mounting system on other fans is iffy due to the rubber band mounting onto this heatsink, which in itself seems to be flawed.

Other Thoughts: Do enjoy it. Would probably buy a NH-D14, if I had to this again, or some closed loop water coolers. Love the fan design, but seems to be flawed. i would not recommend buying until it gets to the 30 dollar range, which, then it becomes a good buy.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat heatsink. Not so great Fans & Fan Mounts

Pros: All heatsinks can be great depending on the price you get them. At the $30 I got mine, great deal. There's not much to really say about performance, the bigger the piece of metal, the more it generally cools - it's all about the price you pay for the heatsink.

So for a mid-range cooler, great cooling, very impressed. Far better than other mid-range coolers, like the H50 for example (again, it all depends on price, I got my H50 for cheaper than this my havik so I still count it as a great heatsink).

It does come surprisingly close in performance, to my NH-D14, though.

Cons: Wow, the way the fan mounts work is absolutely atrocious. At first, it seems great, a way to mount any kind of fan easily. But these rubber things don't last at all, within weeks, they get old, stale, and break easily (imagine a crusty rubber band and how it just cracks).

NZXT also isn't the greatest at sending replacement fan mounts. Of the 6 I have, only 2 aren't broken yet (and they are clearly about to, probably with one more remount).

This really isn't a big deal - you can always use cable ties, or fan mounts from some other heatsink, tape, whatever, to get a fan attached to a heatsink. Just of the 10+ heatsinks I've owned, I've never had a mount that was so terrible, is all.

Also, the rubber mounts really don't work well with most fans. They only work well with fans that don't have a solid hole all the way through, that it's just a small foothole on each side of the fan (Noctua fans, as opposed to Yate Loon or 120mm nzxt fans). You can make them work if you force them in...

But really, save yourself some trouble and buy cable ties for fan mounts.

Another thing - you can't slide the fan up and down (say you have very tall ram, or VRM heatsinks). Most fan mounts allow you to slide the fan up and down on the heatsink.

Finally the fans are obnoxiously loud. My NF-P14's are much, much quieter. I'm pretty sure the wavy bacon design on the fans makes them much louder than normal fans. They also feel like cheaper fans (which is fine if you pay a cheap price for this heatsink). Definitely not premium fans by any means. I use my NZXT 140mm fans as case fans, and re-routed the wires so it's running off 7v instead of 12v.

It also clearly does not have the same power as my 140mm Noctua fans.

However it's not fair to compare premium Noctua fans, to these spinning baconwheels (I paid as much for one of my Noctua 140mm fans, as I did for the 2 nzxt 140mm fans and the heatsink). But just for frame of reference. Of course, these 140mm fans are much more powerful than any of my 120mm fans.

But these 140mm fans, when set to a low speed on my fan controller (40%), they create some weird vibration - woosh-woosh-woosh-woosh. It also sounds like that. When ramped up to higher speeds though, it goes away (like the vibrations are so close together that it stops vibrating, i guess). When undervolting the fans to 7v though, this issue goes away.

Other Thoughts: Mounting system is identical to the NH-D14. The heatsink is not very big, yet has a lot of cooling performance.

If you can find one of these between $30-40, it's a great price. This is as good a cooler as any other mid-range cooler, give or take a few degrees.

It's all about the price you pay for the cooling you get, as all mid-range coolers are roughly the same in performance.

5 out of 5 eggsIce Cold

Pros: Keeps my 3570k frozen at about 35°C, according to Core Temp.

Cons: I had to move my RAM to the second channels and remove my side panel fan to get this to fit.

Other Thoughts: When I test fired up my machine after installing this with my case still opened up, I was genuinely concerned that I was going to catch hypothermia.

4 out of 5 eggsSqueeze

Pros: KEEPS MY CPU COOOOL!, Easy to install if motherboard is already out.
Nice instructions.

Cons: Loud ... if u care, if motherboard is in u will need to take it out. It has two fans and one of them gets in the way of me adding more ram.

Other Thoughts: Would've given five star if i didn't have to remove one fan to add more ram. Works excellent and fits inside my NZXT PHANTOM 410 case with no space to spare. perfect fit, other than the ram problem of coarse.

4 out of 5 eggsnzxt havik

Pros: keeps my FX-8120 @ 4.4ghz @1.425v under 58C

biggest heatsink i've ever installed!

dual fans for push pull!

fans r huge and cool well for 140mm @ 1300rpm, they are not very loud at max load.

in the desktop... fans spin about 800-900 rpm and pretty r quiet

take your time reading the instructions and get a feel for the mounting hardware its a little tricky but does the job.

i like the rubber fan attachment idea and even though its tricky installing them just take yur time.... they do break so becareful, but nzxt was nice enough to send me some extras for free ;)

overall im happy and its less than 60 so yur getting a great value

Cons: could be a little flatter for the bottom of the heatsink, had a little concaveness to it. i ended up lapping mine ;)

could of done a little better with mounting for AMD socket, especially for front/back position.

who mounts there's top/bottom these days anyways?

had to reverse the plates to give the cross braces enough thread to screw on to.

wish the fans were PMW (4 pin)

fans r big! blocks 1st dimm slot and rubs against one of my mushkin ridgeline heatsinks. so be aware of how high your memory heatsinks are and if your using all 4 dimm slots.

hopefully these will be addressed in version 2.0!

they should take some tips from the xigmatek gaia heatsink, perfect mounting system for AMD

Other Thoughts: Asus Crosshair V Formula
Mushkin Ridgeline 2000mhz 2x4gb

4 out of 5 eggsSnapping rubberband

Pros: The best single tower cooler out there for $60. Comes with two 140mm fans which makes this cooler a bargain. Mounting system is a great idea only if the rubber band didn't crack so often.

Every time I open my case for dusting (~4 months) the rubberbands are on the verge of snapping.

The stock 140mm pushes virtually no air at all. I replaced the fans with high static pressure 120mm fans.

Cons: – No 2011 socket support.

– The rubber band mounting system is prone to drying, cracking and snapping after a period of time, NZXT should have use higher quality rubber that is not prone to drying and cracking.

– Long wait (25mins+) when calling customer support.
