NZXT Kraken X40 RL-KRX40-01 140mm Ultra Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

Pros: Quality Built
Great Instructions (you need SOME technical know-how)
Probably one of the best self-contained LCU's I've seen.

Cons: It is HUGE...the name "Kraken" makes sense. The unit didn't fit in my Fractal Arc Mini case, but I was taking a gamble on whether or not it would. Easy enough, I returned it to Newegg and settled for a competitor's 120mm solution.

Other Thoughts: If I ever get a larger case, this will be my CPU cooler of choice.

Pros: Keeps my CPU cool and fit just fine in my Phantom 410. Nice to have a 140mm radiator. Easy to install.

Cons: While the cooler is great overall...there were some things that could have been improved. The pump does make some noise. I'm not sure if its air bubbles or not. The cables could have been better implemented. The only real issue I had was with the tubing. While the tube fittings connected to the pump have an adjustable hinge, the fittings on the radiator do not...this limits your mounting possibilities a little. Also...the tubing is quite long.

Other Thoughts: Can't seem to set up the pump's led to turn off when I shut down my rig.

Pros: Easy to install! Works like a charm and is very quiet!

Cons: None so far!

Other Thoughts: Instructions are a tad iffy, but if you don't know what you are doing you shouldn't be installing one on your own to begin with.

Pros: cools great

Cons: the cpu fan connector the two guide groves that help let it set into the fan headers on the motherboard are a lil to short compared to others i have which allowed for an easy user mistake to have missed place the connector into the cpu fan header this will kill your motherboard it happen to me twice now so i would hope next cooler system they use will improve that feature cause now i have to RMA my 2nd motherboard after realizing how easy it is to have that happen on my motherboard

Pros: Seems to be a complete unit ready to rock and roll if you know how to wire it in.

Cons: The instructions for connecting to the motherboard were too difficult for me to follow. Perhaps I'm just not sharp enough, but without a clear diagram, I was not able to wire it into the computer I had assembled from scratch (all Newegg parts). I had no problems with wiring in another water cooling system purchased from a local electronics retailer.

Other Thoughts: Had I been able to get it working, I would have had quite the frankenstein looking machine. The radiator and fan are bigger than I anticipated (my fault for not knowing the sizes of fans my machine would accept). Make sure you know your sizes and that this will fit. It looks like it's an incredible cooling system. Wish I could have made it work.

Pros: Use this for my amd fx 8350 , which are known to run hot. Went from 60-75c max w/ stock cooler, to 10-20c. Pump is quiet hoses are long and has a cool led that can change to ANY color you want (as long as you download software. provided with it.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Very happy with this product, I intend to mod my video card and plan on buying another for it.

Pros: doesn't fit in NZXT case...

Cons: I bought the NZXT Phantom full tower case and there is no where to put this radiator. They only have mounting for the larger x60 model. I bought the x40 because reviews were better. I can't believe that it doesn't fit in it's own manufacturers case. They should definitly put the cases it fits in and ones it doesnt, at least of their own products. Crazy dissappointed!

Pros: Quite pump, Supposedly the fan is loud but then again all my fans are at their max settings when under load so doesnt make a difference to me.
Out performances the H60.
Even the Software is amazing!!

Cons: None!

Pros: It works very well for the price. It was fun to install. My temps stay mostly under 100* F with an AMD A10 OC'd to 4800 MHz. Perfect length on the hoses. You can set custom fan speed curves. The pump block can be programmed to color fade and you can set an alert color that will go solid at a high temp. Nice if you have a window. Best part is now my computer is a little more like my car. It has a radiator.

Cons: Kraken Control does not recognize CPU Temp, although it reads Liquid Temp Accurately. Did not come with a sticker.

Other Thoughts: It didn't natively fit in my NZXT Vulcan mATX Tower but it did after I removed the removable drive bay in the bottom front, popped a few of my own holes, used some washers as standoffs, and mounted the radiator hoses down.

Pros: looks nice in my case

Cons: not seeing a improvement over my Coolermaster hyper evo 212 plus in cooling on stock clocked & in game i don't know if its the stock fan or what but its not looking good
