5 out of 5 eggsChilling out

Pros: Does what it is made to do.

Cons: None. although when I bought it NZXT announced that it was releasing the Kraken X41 the following day! I would have bought that had I just waited 1 more day.

5 out of 5 eggsCold as Ice

Pros: I recently built a new system and my i7-4770k was idling at 140 F! After reading over my available options I went with this cooler because NZXT makes my case and I have been happy with it.

My machine was already built, so installation was as simple as removing my current heatsink and installing this one.

After installation my machine idles at 90 F and I couldn't be happier.

Cons: Like others have mentioned the fan can be loud when it runs at max. However, my system has yet to push the fan to max, even when I play FFXIV on on maximum settings.

Other Thoughts: My Asus Maximus VII required some BIOS modification before the system would boot without a "CPU Fan Error." I had to tell board to ignore cpu fan speed.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat, but wait for revision

Pros: Amazing cooler. Replaced my 3 year old Antec Kuhler 920 and its even better then my old one.
Got another fan exactly the same for push pull, playing games like WoW and its sits at 29c very nice improvement from a 120mm.

Cons: Make sure you have enough clearance, i had to loosen the screws and push it toward motherboard and tighten them so the side panel would close correctly.

Removed thermal paste and use my IC Diamond.

Other Thoughts: Computex 2014 just announced new X41 and X61. Thicker rad, pump, etc everything brand new and upgraded, except the tubes, but it will be a big difference.

Only regret is getting this before knowing a new version is coming soon.

4 out of 5 eggsThe Preferred AIO Cooler

Pros: Pretty much fell in love with this thing when I first saw it. The NZXT logo LED is way better looking than the Corsair one, in my opinion. Official reviews showed that this cooler outperforms most of the Corsair ones as well.

With the stock fan installed and with the Extreme profile selected in the software, this thing is a seriously good cooler. I put it in a Node 304 and it kept my 4.1 GHz 3570K at around 35-40 idle, and never above 65 at full load.

The tubes are pretty long. I love the idea of putting this radiator at the intake side so you guarantee it is getting cold air. The tubes are long enough to do so in a larger case. See cons also tube cons also.

Cons: I originally bought two Phanteks fans for push/pull with this. I eventually tried the stock fan in pull config. This fan is definitely too loud. Even at the "silent" setting there is a somewhat annoying whir. At extreme it is like what the other guy says, a jet engine starting up.

I would definitely recommend getting a different high rpm/quieter fan, it will still perform well. Pull config will suffice.

Another thing that was a con for me, but not worth taking another egg off, was that the tubes were too long. I had to pretty much squish them into my case.

Other Thoughts: This was my first Newegg review and first AIO cooler. I would have given this 3 stars due to the noise, but I just liked the looks of this thing too much. Ended up deciding I didn't like water cooling so I replaced this with an air cooler which is turning out awesome.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good!

Pros: Keeps a big i-4820k cool. Really cool actually- house ambient temp 68F, idling CPU temp only 75F; or 28.5 C. Under max load does not hit 50 C.
nice sleeving on all connectors including the PWM fan.

Cons: The PWM fan that comes with this cooler can get pretty loud. A little tweaking brings it down to a dull roar. Not much of a con, really, as nearly all of the AIO water cooling units I've tested come with a mediocre fan.

5 out of 5 eggsYep, buy it.

Pros: cools great. running a i7 4770K OC'd to 4.2Ghz and it keeps in cool while running BF3/4. i'm sure I can OC higher. fun to customize the fan curve and colors.

Cons: yes, this cooler is a little loud. especially under load. needs USB port on MB, plus fan connector

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cooler

Pros: Great cooling and quiet! Can dial up cooling capacity with the provided software and the LED can be configured via RBG values for the color you want.

Cons: Not quite a con, but I forgot it was a 140mm cooler when I ordered so some holes had to be drilled in my case.

Other Thoughts: For the price it's a great product and cooling solution.

3 out of 5 eggsFailsauce.

Pros: It actually did a fantastic job at keeping my system cool. Right around 32-35C on normal usage.

Cons: Failed around 7 months into usage, the pump seemed to fail, I heard a 'draining' sound, and noticed liquid on my motherboard.

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't be so upset, as I knew this could happen, And I turned everything off fast enough that I don't think it damaged anything else. However, I filed a report on the manufacturer's website 2 days ago, and haven't recieved a response. They have "Live Chat" that always seems to be "offline", and don't have a technical support/RMA phone # to call. Ridiculous support. I have a warranty on the product, so I'll give it 15 days that I'm required to, then go thru other channels, but in the mean time, completely without my desktop computer.

5 out of 5 eggsKraken x40

Pros: Keeps the 8350 @ 4.4GHz and 1.4 volts nice and cool- 20C idle and 55C full load over 15 mins w/ Prime 95. R9 290x w/ G10 bracket and heatsinks on the VRAM @ 50C full load. (Arctic 5 for both)

Nice unit. X60 seems overkill. Of course, the above temps depend on the custom settings I have w/ the Kraken control. Better temps are a definite, if you can stand a little noise.

Cons: I hear one of the fans make a knocking sound every so often. It's not really that loud or anything and not too often.

Installation is not hard, but some things are not stated in the instructions. First of all- you will need to remover the old, stock setup. Four screws taken out, around the CPU and you're in business to start following NZXT instructions.

Both of my units, and from what I understand, all AIO coolers, have an air bubble in them. Can't be helped? I don't know, but be sure to install the radiator /above/ the pump for best performance.

Other Thoughts: Fits fine in top and back of Rosewill Thor V2 case, just use the holes closest to the open side, to keep the radiator away from the motherboard.

Happy overclocking :)

5 out of 5 eggsLooking good and working well.

Pros: Keeps my i5-3570k cool in the mid 20's during idle and in game to about 45C. The software included works and is easy to use. The LED feature is a nice touch.

Cons: I have the NZXT Phantom full tower case and I thought that maybe using a fan adapter I would be able to fit on despite what other's say about this case and cooler. I was able to fit it in my case using a fan adapter and slight case modding. I connected the 120mm to 14omm fan adapter to the 120mm fan included in the case and the other end connected to the 140mm radiator. From there, I attached the 140mm fan that the cooler comes with the other side of the radiator. I was able to fit all of that in the back exhaust mount on the Phantom by simply bending a little bit with pliers where the radiator hit the top of the case where the side panel would slide on. That may seem confusing but let's just say it is possible to fit this in a Phantom with a little bending and one 120-140mm fan adapter. The con with this product is that it should be compatible with the cases NZXT makes. It can be done, however, as described above.

Other Thoughts: I have not overclocked yet but I will by the time I update this review in a few months. Then I will post whether or not it cools a CPU well under load, assuming it will work just as it does now for the next few months.
