4 out of 5 eggsits a start to a cooler gpu

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-W1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: Very well designed, you can tell its good quality has a good weight to it. I get max GPU temps of 61c now. Don't have a way of measuring the VRM temps(will discuss more about the VRMS in con's)

Looks good in my case, pretty simple installation although it is nothing to rush...
For the most part this this is plenty sufficient for the GPU but lacks in the VRMS cooling dept.

Cons: Where to start....

I guess I can accept this bracket since its pretty much a prototype for upcoming closed loop GPU coolers...

When you tighten the bracket down there's no stop point on the screws so you can basically tighten until you break your PCB, so you will have to FINGER tighten each screw in an x pattern making sure the cooling block is flush(even) on your GPU die otherwise you will get bad temps and overheatoverheat causing driver crash or worse PC crash. Make sure you don't over tighten either because you will start seeing the PCB bend that's when you know its to tight. I highly recommend not using a screw driver to tighten these only your fingers.

Another problem me and plenty others have been having ( on overclock dot net) is they claim the fan is sufficient enough for VRMS cooling, but in fact that throttles my card even when not over clocked...so I've purchased copper heatsinks and suskui thermal tape to stick to the VRMS(also the vrams not nessisary unless overclocking but makes me more comfortable)

Other Thoughts: For help or questions on mounting your kraken g10 me and a few others have a help thread going on overclock dot net. You can find it by googleing "official nzxt kraken g10 owners club" my name on there is ldewitt mention I sent you from newegg review.

5 out of 5 eggsnothing short of amazing

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-W1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: has dropped my average operating temp on an r9 290 by roughly 30c under load. during bf4 on ultra setting a good 4 hour session id hit 90c and the card would start to throttle.
now with this and a corsair h90 and (2) aerocool ds 140mm fans push pull config on radiator im sitting at 58c and i cant get it higher using benchmark tests playing hours of bf4 maxxed zero issues

Cons: the install isnt hard but if your not a real big tech guy its kinda scary tearing apart a $500 dollar card lol.

doesnt cover vram well

i purchased 12 aluminum heat sinks for the vram and used thermal adhesive to increase the surface area for cooling seems to have worked out well.

Other Thoughts: my build
mobo: asus sabertooth 990fx
cpu : amd fx 8320 at 4.9ghz
cpu cooler: corsair h100 240mm radiator
gpu: xfx r9 290 with kraken g10 and corsair h90
ram 8gigs gskill 1600mhz
ssd ocz vertex 3 128 g
hdd 1tb wd black
psu: 750 ocz fatality
case is the coolermaster haf 932 stacker
cooling (11) 120mm blue led coolermaster fans
(2) 140mm aerocool ds fans <-- fantastic fans best ive ever had by far)
gskill ram cooling fans (2) 60mm

5 out of 5 eggsReally good gpu cooling

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-W1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: Great core cooling; overclocked my 290 to 1075 and it hit 70 on furmark.

Cons: The lack of vrm cooling is no joke. Needed Gelid Enhancement Kit for R9 290/X and vrm1 still got insanely hot

Other Thoughts: You really need to install it tight. Not quite "bend your card" but close.

4 out of 5 eggslittle thought put into it

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-W1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: Highly recommended product in reviews because it is compatible with Water 3.0 Pro which made temperature to be 29C constant even during load.

Cons: I had to tighten the GPU plate again because it did not line up properly. It's supposed to be compatible with a variety of GPU's and liquid coolers. It is tricky to install both the cooler and graphics card at once in a tightly spaced case.

Other Thoughts: It makes your original graphics harder to sell because it is difficult to reassemble with the right screws.

4 out of 5 eggspaint to thick

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-W1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: It cooled my gtx 780 ti from 80-83 C full ultra settings on my fav games bf4 bf3 farcry down to 40-43 C top using corsair h55 120mm, perfect choice i made!!

Cons: I did not give 5 eggs because: the ring where the h55 goes in has WAY WAY to much paint, i had to manually scratch the paint off with a knife, (dangerous) the teeth that lock the ring with the h55 also TO MUCH paint! I spend about an hour trying to remove some of that paint... And the instructions are lame, this is my first time liquid cooling a gpu

Other Thoughts: It is a great silent adapter and yes i am happy i do recommend,

5 out of 5 eggsgreat

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-W1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: works very good and it is easy to install

Cons: the screws they use are thin and weak, but u can use 6-32 mechine screws if you need to. drill the whole on the plate and it will fit the card.if you have a back plate on you card and you leave it the screws wont work.the rubber on the back plate needs to come off.

Other Thoughts: temps on my GTX680 asus idel-23c under load 48c are less. they use to idel at 37C. under load 73c now my primary runs cooler than my secondary. im using the H50 with 2 fans.

5 out of 5 eggsStill works when you cut it in half

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-W1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: You can make this work as long as you can think hard enough to come up with a solution.

Cons: The design could be a little different to fit more cards

Other Thoughts: I have two msi GTX 760 ITX editions and they were a little too short so I cut them in half and only used the side that fastens the watercooler to my GPU's and sanded and rounded the edges of them so they looked nice and discarded the side that the fan goes on, my side panel fan blows on my card just fine, plus I have VGA heat sinks for the VRAM chips that aren't already covered by the watercooler. So if you have a card that is a mini version of the reference card, just know you can cut this in half and it will still work. I didn't dock an egg because I should have looked more into if my card would fit in these, especially since I have two cards, but I still got it to work. For those interested I used corsair H55s for both my msi GTX 760 ITX editions and my Core i7 4770k

5 out of 5 eggsWorks awesome

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-W1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: Works awesome, took my Sapphire R9-290X from ~80C at load (with 65% fan) down to 67-72C under the same load, but it's way, way quieter.

Cons: I'm not sure why people complain about the fan noise, it's literally silent. I can't hear it at least and my computer is ~6 inches away from me.

Other Thoughts: You can get the old style H50 to work with it, but you have to take a file (from home depo) and file down the plastic to get the braket on, then file down the top where the bracket sits enough so it will screw on.

5 out of 5 eggsWhat a difference

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-W1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: My video card temperatures where just above 80c and that was back in February. An XFx Radeon HD7950. With the cpu on a Corsair H-100i, I decided the fan/heatsink wasn't doing the job. Believe me, this was no easy as pie job. But it was worth it. I'm at 65/66c Max under load with BF3. 48+players. Idles around 26 /28c.

Cons: This was no easy install. Nothing fit right even though I pre-planned everything. The back plate wobbled and I had to remove the cushion block and use four 11/32 rubber grommets. I used a copper shim between the pumphead and gpu. The gpu on some 7950s and 7970s are seated below the height of the diebox. I thermal pasted both sides of the shim. Was no easy job wrangling the thick pump hoses, the card, 4 not so steady mounting screws and the lose pump and bracket. It reminded me of installing a timing chain/water pump on a Ford 302 engine block.

Other Thoughts: Added a separate temperature/fan controller because I taxed the motherboard for power. It's better that way. The instructions on installing the Kraken G10 and the online videos made the job look easy. Believe me installing it to the HD7950 wasn't that easy. Like I said, I used grommets on the 4 mounting screws rather than the foam block on the back plate. The only way you can tell if you need the shim is to take the fan and heatsink off the 7950 and look.

4 out of 5 eggswhite matches my color scheme

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-W1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: Does intended job of fitting a CPU water cooler on graphics card fine, fits many cards in the market today, but had to remove the foam piece on the backing plate for mine.

Cons: Does not come with vram heatsinks, which are a must.

Other Thoughts: I feel like the fan placement doesn't help. The vram is on the other side and barely gets any cooling, should have a smaller fan on the other side instead. I also have the shorter mini ITX MSI GeForce GTX 760 so the fan just blows air into the case.

Routing of the pipes didn't work out in my mini ITX build either, and just from eyeing the dimensions,a dual card setup will not fit if the stock fan is used. This is with a H55 cooler btw. There might be slimmer 80mm fans can work but idk.
