5 out of 5 eggsThanks NZXT!

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-W1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: So far I have not been able to get my EVGA GTX-670 4 gig FTW over 45 C at full load in BF4. All my other games run around 38 C. The best part and most important thing is that my computer no longer sounds like a jet engine. That alone was worth the $95 and a lot of effort to me. Thankfully I was able to keep my back plate on the card during installation. I paired the G10 with the Corsair H55 and am quite happy with the results. I would buy this again!

Cons: As some have said it is difficult to install but I really don't mind, I like a challenge! ;-) And since there really isn't a better option out there I can't discount an egg for that.

Other Thoughts: I am really glad someone came up with this solution! For the life of me I can't understand why the dragging of the feet when it comes to GPU cooling. After years of plug and play CPU cooling there is finally someone that took the challenge! I hope this opens the door to some more creative and versitile options down the road. It can only get better, I hope?

4 out of 5 eggsDoes the job well

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-W1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: This does very well at the job it performs. The instructions aren't terribly detailed, but if youtube is definitely a thing that exists. Had to lop off an egg because one of my spacers was malformed, and would not go onto the screw. Luckily, I had spares that fit fine - it would have sucked to wait on an RMA over such a little part.

Cons: Spacer was malformed

Other Thoughts: I paired this with the corsair h50 and my EVGA gtx 970 - it works beautifully. I idle around 27c, go up to around 43c under load.

3 out of 5 eggsA good idea, but flawed for overclocking.

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-W1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: Limited my MSI 780 ti to 62 degrees C while at full load with corsair H55 and two Noctua fans in push/pull configuration. Temps were 76 degrees C with the air cooler.

Cons: Core and memory clocks were not able to be increased beyond the levels offered by the stock air cooler, despite the 14 degree reduction in max. temperature. I believe this is due to inadequate VRM cooling, although I never measured them.

Other Thoughts: After trying this, I purchased Swiftech's H-240X expandable AIO cooler, and a Koolance waterblock for my card. With the chip and the VRM being cooled, I gained +50 MHz on the core, and +125 MHz on the memory of the GPU, while max temp under load was reduced to 52 degrees C. All of this without adjusting the voltage on the card. This is a much better solution in my opinion.

4 out of 5 eggsNot user friendly but does the job

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-W1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: This thing does exactly what it was designed to do. Hold the water block to the GPU

Cons: Not user friendly. As said in previous reviews the paint is a little thick and getting those thin screws to hold the back plate to the cooling block is going to take time and effort.

Other Thoughts: 1) take the long screws that hold the water block to the back plate and seat them in the main plate holes. All of them... put them in and out prior to trying to assemble this thing.

2) The back plate, the GPU the front plate and the water block are all unsecured until those 4 screws are in. It is certainly a slippery sandwich. Invest in a second set of hands to get it done.

In all it took about 2 hrs to do the assembly for the card + waterblock + the G10. Instillation is a different topic. If you have the patience and an exctra set of hands to hold the thing steady you'll be just fine.

2 out of 5 eggsComplex for no reason

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-W1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: If you even care, it's cool to be able to get your GPU to cooler temps then the reference cooler can provide. It's also nice having multiple NZXT parts in your build (i have a few).

Cons: Now, although I think NZXT makes amazing cases, accessories and PSU's, I can't say i enjoyed this cooler. It took me a real long time to get it onto the GPU properly after reading the instructions and watching youtube videos. Once i finally popped it into my build, I couldn't even get my machine to boot up. I made sure everything was connected and fastened properly, made sure the cooler and fans were working but still nothing. The cooler was working, but my computer wouldn't boot. So now it's in a box taking up space in my room because returning it back to newegg isn't worth the restocking fee.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, Valued NZXT Customer

We deeply apologize and it’s very strange to hear that your system would not boot up with the Kraken G10 Installed. Was the system still powered on fans spinning and all or was it completely off and no power was being received to the system in turn? We just want to make sure there wasn’t a ground within the case keeping the system from booting. Also it could be that the video connection to your GPU was loose cutting the signal to your monitor. None the less we are here to help you if you would just visit our website at www.nzxt.com/support/ . Once there all you would need to do is submit a request at the top right in detail giving up the description of the issue and the product itself,Once submitted it will enter into our ticketing system. You can also contact us at 1-800-228-9395 at which we will be able to proceed forward with some more trouble shooting tips.

Kind regards,
NZXT Support.

1 out of 5 eggsSimply doesn't work

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-W1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: I heard when it works it keeps a graphics card cool

Cons: The install was the biggest pain I've ever had, and I've done custom water cooling before.
I can see my H90 copper baseplate firmly attached and the temperatures still SKYROCKET to 60 degrees under ZERO load. Upon any load, it goes up to 80 degrees and I have to shut it down before my card overheats.

Other Thoughts: I want to submit a ticket or claim and NZXT seems to not like me entering the correct captcha phrases so I can't even do that. I reinstalled the stock cooler on my GTX 680 and it was back again to regular temps. I reinstalled the G10 and again the temperatures were out of control high. Even putting a copper shim, thinking there might be something holding the baseplate back, into the fray didn't help matters. NZXT support is no where to be found and this is my second and frankly last NZXT product I will ever buy or recommend. DO NOT GET THIS. Custom watercool or leave it alone...and to be frank...leaving it alone is probably best.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-W1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: Solid, good looking, strong rigid and good looking back plate, easy to install. Just get the bolts through the correct holes in the back plate and through the card, lay the card on a solid flat surface and the bolts with stay in place, just lower the pump and bracket on to the bolts and mount it. Very easy.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I am loving this thing. Easy way to water cool my GPU. I joke that it is funny how I have air cooled CPU (Phanteks PH-TC14PE) and a water cooled GPU, most are the other way. But really, it is cost effective as it can be moved to the next GPU.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazed

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-W1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: Without throttling my GTX770 would get to around 75c with its air cooler. After a four hour session playing the same game as before the highest temp recorded peaked at 47c using a Kraken x41 with its included fan. I was expecting mid-50s for temps and have been blown away by this combo. I also bought some small copper heatsinks that I put on the Memory and VRMs just to be safe.

Aside from the temp drop, the noise level with the stock cooling solution sounded like it was trying to take flight whenever the card got above 60c, now the noise level is negligible and controllable thanks to my fan controller.

So it's definitely a winner for my application!

Cons: The thick powder coating slightly obscured two out of the three holes used on one of the mounting brackets sets of holes. One of which was needed for converting my GTX770. So I used successively larger screws to remove the powder coating from out of the hole I needed to use, and viola! works like a champ!

Other Thoughts: At first I was disappointed to see the two mounting holes partially covering by the powder coating and briefly considered an RMA. Then I thought of using my dremel to clear the hole, but didn't want to waller-out (very technical term right?) the holes in doing it, so I decided on the screw method which worked just fine.

Never used the included fan, currently running a Noctua for that so can't speak for it's Airflow/noise level.

1 out of 5 eggsLooks like a nice liquid gpu cooler for beginners

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-W1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: Don't own one........yet. NZXT makes good products.I was a little dissuaded when they first came out; with their transformer looking cases, but upon buying some of their products, I realized the stuff they make is quality. I have a couple 7950's laying around. I might just have to grab a couple of these, make a build, and send em' out to market on the low to mid end range. I am intrigued.

Cons: Not sure yet, only thing I could see being a problem, is having multiple coolers for x-fire or sli setup, aesthetics, and a lack of quality airflow, due to multiple radiators. Dunno, guess that would be case dependant. I will have to see.

Other Thoughts: I will follow up when I do so.
