Kraken™ G10 GPU Bracket

The liquid cooling solution for your video card has finally arrived.

Kraken™ G10

If there's one desire every gamer, enthusiast and builder should have in common, it's the need for a cooler system. With the growth of the all-in-one liquid cooler, CPU cooling has become simple, cost-friendly and most importantly, efficient. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for GPU cooling. At least not until now.

The Kraken G10 is designed to finally bring high performance, cost-effective cooling to the GPU by incorporating existing all-in-one liquid cooling technology to a majority of video cards, regardless of chipset or manufacturer.

The steel Kraken G10 bracket allows users to mount the NZXT Kraken coolers as well as non-NZXT brand liquid coolers to their GPU with ease. (See compatibility list for compatible coolers) With an included 92mm fan to cool the VRM and the high performance abilities of the Kraken cooler, the Kraken G10 offers over 40% cooling increases over stock coolers*, a level of performance only previously achievable with a costly custom liquid cooled setup.

*Tests performed using a Kraken X40 and stock GTX-780

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great - if you pay attention!

Pros: Works really well. Fits the cooler to the card, instructions are pretty simple. Looks really good - I got the white bracket to match my white case with white cabling. It's a cool combo with UV lights :)

I have this on an AMD 7950, 29c idle and 51 under load (Furmark extreme for 3 hours, never broke 51c).

Cons: There are no stops on the screws to mount the cooler to the GPU, so if you aren't paying attention, you WILL over-tighten the screws and bend your PCB! A little bend is ok - but make sure you pay attention!

Other Thoughts: Don't match this to a Corsair cooler - their pipes are way too short. I barely reach the front intake fan port on my smaller-than-average mid-tower case. "Why don't you put it on the rear fan port?" Because that's where the CPU radiator goes, of course!

If you match this to an AMD card, MAKE SURE you are aware of the GPU die and whether or not you need a copper shim, like I did. more information about this is on the manufacturer's website, NZXT.

1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't keep 970 Cool

Pros: The G10 gets plenty of style points, and in all honesty mounted without too much hassle on my EVGA 970 (just the expected struggles of setting everything up and pushing long screws through small holes without smearing the thermal compound). It even did a remarkable job of keeping the GPU cool with an H50.

Cons: Although the GPU stayed plenty cool, the fan didn't cool the VRM on my 970, it is on the wrong side of the GPU. I put heat sinks on and tried a couple of things with extra fans, but ultimately after 5-10 minutes of Witcher 3 on recommended NVIDIA settings my computer crashed. I grabbed an infrared thermometer and stressed my card a few more times. Turned out parts of the card were nearly reaching 100C causing the card to shut down before damage. I have since taken this off and replaced it with the stock cooler.

Other Thoughts: I'm not necessarily disappointed with this product, and I will probably put it on another card in the future, but I wouldn't recommend this for a 970 from my experience.

5 out of 5 eggsGodly piece of hardware!

Pros: The NZXT bracket works well with my EVGA 780 and is easy to buy unlike the HG10 N780 witch is a Corsair paper release.

Paired with an H55 this bracket keeps my GTX 780 under 50C at full load!

Cons: Not the easiest install... I had to make a copper shim for my card out of an old heat sink and the screws barely had enough thread with the shim in place...

Other Thoughts: I wanted the Corsair solution but after three months of them telling us next month I finally caved and got this bracket and I was not disappointed

This bracket works great with the EVGA 780 as the EVGA 780 comes with an internal heat sink that keep things cool and also adds strength to the PCB so it doesn't bend/warp... I Just needed a copper shim so that the H55 could make contact and allow me to keep the internal heat sink that EVGA installed! Good Job EVGA and NZXT!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -Love the fact that I can watercool a card that doesn't brackets made for it anymore
-Keeps the temperatures at least -10C cooler, which is outstanding!
-Has a very sleek design
-Fairly easy to install
- Is a very inexpensive way to get a decent watercooled graphics card

Cons: - It was fairly heavy
- when fully installed, it didn't leave any space for any other PCI devices below it. (My board is a Mini ATX, so there wasn't another slot to use that was compatible with my USB 3.0 card that sits below)
- Like others have stated, the paint is a bit to thick on it so it took a little grinding and wearing on the holes where the screws would go to mount the backplate and body of the actual Bracket together. (I didn't think this was a huge problem however)

Other Thoughts: So I used this and the Corsair H50 watercooler to cool my HD6850 and it has done a fantastic job. However, I don't use it now because the H50 was becoming very problematic. It's tubing wasn't very flexible and it kinked very easily so it defeated the purpose. I will use it again, just maybe in a different build. The only thing that I would've wanted different about this, would've been to be able to get it in black. But other than that it is totally outstanding and I would recommend this to anyone. I reduced an egg only for how much space it took on my motherboard because I would've liked to have been able to use the only USB 3.0 I can get right now. (until I can upgrade again)

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Idea, but crude

Pros: - It does work. Tamed my R9 280, which was throttling pretty badly and flooding my ITX case with a ton of residual heat.

- Manged to shoehorn this setup into a CoolerMaster Elite 130 ITX case. Barely. Piped one water line up and over, one under and along the edge of the MB.

-It's much quieter than the stock cooler, which ran pretty much wide open (obnoxiously loud) after a minute of gaming.

Cons: -Severely lacking in the the RAM cooling dept. You will want to pick up some aluminum heat sinks.

-As mentioned by others, those with AMD cards beware... the inner most post holes are rough.

Other Thoughts: -Honestly, this is the easiest solution for those of us who want to quiet things down and control the temps.

-I can tell it works, playing DA:I I'm blasting tons of heat out from the radiator.

Relevant parts of my setup:
Cougar 120mm pulling at front (expels air outward)
Corsair H50 behind the front fan (fits to GPU)
Corsair H55 behind the H50 (fits to CPU, an i3)
Cougar 120mm pushing (draws in from case)

I know I'm defying conventional wisdom by pulling at the front (and stacking coolers), but with what little I've seen this arrangement is working wonders. Case temps are down (at least) 7-10 Centigrade, GPU never throttles.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Bracket!

Pros: Using this in conjunction with a HD7870 and a Kuhler H20 620. Lowered my max gaming temp in BF4 by an astonishing 32 degrees Celsius. Idle and normal use is down by about 15 degrees C.

-Keeps the card cool
-All metal design
-Installation was easy (if I can do it, you can do it)
-Price was right

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: When I first installed it i thought I wasn't getting good contact between the GPU and the cooler due to the NZXT kraken mount. I was having to clean off thermal paste and try again and again and again. I finally gave up and decided to see how it did with what I thought was bad contact... turns out I just don't really know what good surface contact is! It works just great!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for what you need it for.

Pros: It was pretty easy to install overall. If you look around you will see that people with AMD cards will have a little trouble connecting the back bracket to the cooler and you will. I currently have a 7870 and it was a little tricky putting it on. I also found that the 92mm fan hangs out over the card because the way the 7870 is set up, the whole bracket is actually longer and sticks out a bit but that's not a problem.

Cons: Like I said above it was a little hard to get one. For the AMD cards you need to fit the screws through the A holes i believe and sometimes they aren't cut out very well. I got lucky and i only had to make 1 of the holes a little bigger with the prong from a fork. But other than that there are no cons.

Other Thoughts: Could use an extra pair of hands to install.

5 out of 5 eggsThanks NZXT!

Pros: So far I have not been able to get my EVGA GTX-670 4 gig FTW over 45 C at full load in BF4. All my other games run around 38 C. The best part and most important thing is that my computer no longer sounds like a jet engine. That alone was worth the $95 and a lot of effort to me. Thankfully I was able to keep my back plate on the card during installation. I paired the G10 with the Corsair H55 and am quite happy with the results. I would buy this again!

Cons: As some have said it is difficult to install but I really don't mind, I like a challenge! ;-) And since there really isn't a better option out there I can't discount an egg for that.

Other Thoughts: I am really glad someone came up with this solution! For the life of me I can't understand why the dragging of the feet when it comes to GPU cooling. After years of plug and play CPU cooling there is finally someone that took the challenge! I hope this opens the door to some more creative and versitile options down the road. It can only get better, I hope?

4 out of 5 eggsDoes the job well

Pros: This does very well at the job it performs. The instructions aren't terribly detailed, but if youtube is definitely a thing that exists. Had to lop off an egg because one of my spacers was malformed, and would not go onto the screw. Luckily, I had spares that fit fine - it would have sucked to wait on an RMA over such a little part.

Cons: Spacer was malformed

Other Thoughts: I paired this with the corsair h50 and my EVGA gtx 970 - it works beautifully. I idle around 27c, go up to around 43c under load.
