3 out of 5 eggsCheap bracket

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-B1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: Pros- Allows you to attach watercooler to GPU....
Paint finish was good
not a flimsy peice

Cons: There is really only 2 cons with this product..

As reported by MANY other people, the quality control for this product is low... example....

All of the screw holes in the bracket are the correct size..before nzxt paints the piece...

Once it is painted (and apparently not quality/sized checked afterwards)... the paint makes the hole too small to fithe supplied screws.
This requires you to try and drill the holes out and make sure they are the correct size. Very silly that they would overlook this... I would rather pay $5-10 more than sit here and have to mess with the bracket just to things to fit.

Vram cooling- This has been talked about quite a bit.. but it is safe to say that for most V cards... it is a good idea to buy some cheap small heatsinks and put them on the vram. The small, slow and cheap fan they provide for Vram coolingis pathetic. Nzxt claims the supplied fan is enough... but they also claim that everything should fit...which it doesnt..

Just keep that in mind.

Other Thoughts: Overall.... its a nice piece.. it just has its small flaws..low quality

The idea is quite simple... im surprised other manufacturers haven't gotten involved in this..

It works.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent, if you know what to expect

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-B1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: Dropped my typical max temps to ~61 C, even when hammering the GPU with ENB-enabled Skyrim, or Crysis 3 at max everything.

Cons: I have no gripe with the bracket itself. Its simple, and works as intended. The VRM cooling leaves much to be desired, and this is where research is so important. Check if your card has VRM heatsinks already. Mine did. If not, do some Googling and find some for your particular card.

Purchase RAM heatsinks for your card. They're not entirely cheap, but they will really help keep those components cool. I went from having artifacts at a mild overclock, to no issues and low temps with 100mhz over stock with heatsinks.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this along with a PowerColor 290x. The card, even with PowerColor's admittedly very good cooler, was a loud space heater.

I did my research, and also bought some RAM heatsinks for the card. My video card already came with VRM heatsinks, but if your card does not, I strongly recommend purchasing some!!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat little bracket

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-B1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: The liquid cooler it helped mount stopped my reference Radeon R9 290x from sounding like a leaf blower and throttling down.

Cons: The paint inside the holes for AMD cards needs to be scraped off before the screws can pass through

Installation instructions are mediocre at best

The L shape of the bracket makes removing the power connectors difficult

Other Thoughts: A word of caution: if you're using this with a Corsair H105/H75 you'll either need to trim down the thumbscrews or find some compatible nuts as the unaltered thumbscrews wont clear the notches in Corsair's pump cover design.

5 out of 5 eggsG10

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-B1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: easy to install. instructions were simple to follow.

Cons: wish nzxt would add brackets for gpu back plate.

Other Thoughts: Installed to a EVGA GTX 680 FTW LE 4GB w/ backplate. Replace stock fan for antec tri cool 92. Installed G10 with Corsair H90 and also replace and add a second fan. Replace stock fan with two bgear b-PWM140 blue led fans.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-B1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: Easy installation, works with most closed loop coolers. Kind of stylish on the card. Fit's most cards and works as a mounting bracket. Who would have guessed

Cons: Fan can't keep VRM cool to save it's life.
Mounting plate is a bit bendy.

Other Thoughts: I've put 2 of these on my GTX 770's, I've paired them with a H55. Yeah temps are better high 20's idle and high 40's to low 50's under full load. Beats the 80'c they used to get, keep in mind they are sli'd though so it was only the top card getting that hot.

My cards happen to come with a full metal plate that ran under the shroud of the stock cooler. It's touching all the vrm's etc. So it's acting as a heat sink and because of that I don't have to worry too much about it over heating. However after putting this cooler on, I am getting coil wining. That's annoying more than anything. Watch out for high VRM temps though.

If you over tighten the mounting plate from your card to your cooler, you will bend the frame making it so that your cooler doesn't sit flat on your gpu, so don't over tighten. Yes I was tightening in the X pattern. The end closest to the I/O of the card doesn't have much support. There's 2 form spaces that come with but I had to use those on the back of the card to it didn't smash the heck out of my 2 8pin connectors. Even now idk how i'll ever unplug my PCI-e connectors. The clips are sooo tight against the bracket . I couldn't get a flat head in there if I wanted to.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-B1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: - affordable
- installing is straight forward
- works with a number of Asetek AIO's
- Installed without a problem on my Asus DCU2 R9 290
- drops temperatures by an unbelievable amount

Cons: - Not designed for novice users
- Need 3 hands to assemble onto graphic card
- only air cools the VRM's (voltage regulator modules). preferable if there is some kind of heat sink on them.
- can be overtightened and damage pcb if installer is careless
- not really a con, but you also need to have a compatible AIO liquid cooler
- AMD mounting screw holes might need to be reemed out with something, the painters are somewhat overzealous and sometimes get paint into the AMD screw holes which dries and makes the hole too small. I had to scrape paint out of one of the holes for mine so the mounting screw would go through.

Other Thoughts: The Kraken G10 lets you water cool your graphic card for a low price compared to a custom water loop and plate, and compatibility is pretty good. My DCU2 R9 290 was a furnace, so I said to heck with it and bought the G10 and a Corsair H50, and sure enough it fit onto my 290 without having to remove the backplate, and my card already had a VRM heat sink so no problemo.

This is probably one of the most ghetto products I've ever used in a computer, and it looks and performs awesome. it even lowered the power consumption of my 290 by a good chunk, and under full load temps are between 50-60C, which is insane. definitely worth the extra money to replace an underwhelming air cooler. I used my own non-conductive thermal paste instead of the pre-applied stuff on the AIO, which I would recommend.

Anywho, its a great product. would highly recommend.

5 out of 5 eggsWhat can I say?

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-B1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: I have owned this bracket for about 3 months so far with my ASUS GTX 770 and the Corsair H50 (which in fact does fit @Heather H.).
.
After some tests, I have concluded that at a 27ºC ambient room temp:
- Idle temperatures that are ~33ºC, which is similar to the stock cooler.
- FurMark Max temp of 56ºC (AMAZING) compared to the previous 96ºC @1080p on the Stock Burn-In-Test
- VRM does get fairly warm, from the touch, I'd say about 80-85ºC, which is pretty warm but, not extremely dangerous (sorry I don't have a lazer temp thermometer).
.
All in all, this is a great liquid cooler solution, and in total my purchase was $80 for this :D. As a recommendation, you can buy heat sinks separately and modify them to fit, which wouldn't be a bad idea for the VRM and if you are into being all custom like that. ^_^

Cons: The installation was the only difficult thing I found about this:

1. The aztec style cooler does fit perfectly with the teeth supplied on the bracket, but you can't really mount it to anything until you screw the four screws into the card.

So really what you are doing is using one hand to push the cooler into the teeth on the bracket as you align the screws and get at least two in before you can remove your hand.

This was a little troublesome, especially since I used Arctic Silver V instead of the stock stuff, which I think helped that 56ºC reading on furmark.

2. The back plate wasn't that bad of an issue, but I feel like it could've been changed. I currently have the nice brushed aluminum back plate on the GTX 770 from ASUS, and seriously, who would want to remove that? (plus you really can't since it's pinned in, lol).

I ended up removing the 1/2 cm thick pad on the back of the little back plate it came with, so I was able to secure it on there, even without putting as much pressure on the GPU since the ASUS back plate had it offset from the GPU.

Other Thoughts: I recently (about 2 hours ago) ordered the Gigabyte Gaming Edition GTX 970 before it sold out :D.

I am planning to do another review with that card, especially since it has about 40% less power consumption and much better overclocking capabilities than the GTX 770. That also means that the VRMs should be a bit cooler, firstly because of the reduced voltage and the less stressed VRMs because the their new technologies. ^_^

4 out of 5 eggsNZXT needs better QA

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-B1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: Great solution for watercooling a non-reference card that also can't get a water block for.
Easy installation.

Cons: The 2nd G10 I ordered came with a part that should never have made it past QA. There are 4 long screws that mount an AIO block to the GPU itself. One of the screws don't have any threads.

Other Thoughts: I bought 2 of these for my 780 SLI setup. The first didn't have any issues and until the RMA is finished, I'm reduced to a single card. Not a ginormous deal I suppose but it's a little irritating.

1 out of 5 eggsLIES about compatibility

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-B1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: None

Cons: This was listed as being compatible with the Corsair H50 water cooler. IT MOST DEFINITELY IS NOT! I have the H50 with copper plate and it is not compatible and will NOT fit with the bracket. Thanks for wasting my time and money!

1 out of 5 eggsDoes NOT fit the Corsair H50

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-B1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: can use a OTC water cooling on your video card

Cons: Poor design
soft metal
poor fan placement for VRM
VRM close to the back plate get no cooling at all

DOES NOT WORK WITH THE CORSAIR H50. It looks like it will, but the pump and copper plate are too think and wide to fit into the the covers slip hole.

Other Thoughts: It is a good idea, but needs a better design. I attempted to re-engineer the H50 and destroyed it in the process.
