1 out of 5 eggsDoes NOT fit the Corsair H50

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-B1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: can use a OTC water cooling on your video card

Cons: Poor design
soft metal
poor fan placement for VRM
VRM close to the back plate get no cooling at all

DOES NOT WORK WITH THE CORSAIR H50. It looks like it will, but the pump and copper plate are too think and wide to fit into the the covers slip hole.

Other Thoughts: It is a good idea, but needs a better design. I attempted to re-engineer the H50 and destroyed it in the process.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsMakes liquid-cooling on GPU's (almost) easy

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-B1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: I got this and a Zalman LQ-310 because my top GPU would idle about 5C hotter than the lower one, and it only got worse as the temps increased. Now the top Idles at least 5C cooler.

I'm so satisfied that I have already ordered a second bracket and a different cooler (the Zalman has some pump noise when mounted horizontally) for my other card.

Cons: The only difficult part of my installation process was removing the stock cooling from my Nvidia-built GeForce GTX 770, (it had about 40 screws holding it together) but that isn't NZXT's fault so it still gets 5 eggs without a doubt.

On the plus side, I was able pull out the sweet green LED that was in the original cooler and stick it to the outside of the NZXT bracket with the spacer pads that came with the Zalman.

Other Thoughts: Just observe your video card and consider how hard it will be to remove the stock cooling before you commit. I wouldn't be surprised if there were cards that took a considerable amount of time and effort to get the thing off.

Also: Make sure you have at least a small specialty bit set before you start. There were 3 or 4 different kinds/sizes of screws in my stock cooler.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cooler with caveats

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-B1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: Dropped my temps by over 12 c average. Worth every penny, see cons..

Cons: Screw assemblies are total rubbish, take the hex nuts and washers and set them aside. take the other hardware down to Lowes or home Depot or your local hardware vender and replace them as they are fobar. Make sure the lengths are the same and go with the largest screw diameter that fits in the hole in your video card where the original heat sink screws went. Also when you tighten down the adapter, make sure you do not bow the cards pcb. Make sure to put the new screws in the proper spot on the backing plate, some drilling of these holes may be necessary, DO NOT GO BIGGER THAN THE NEW SCREWS DIAMETER!!!.

Other Thoughts: This is a good kit for quick and dirty liquid cooling and was worth any hassle's I encountered. I would bet some if not all of the bad reviews had to do with the hold down screw assemblies.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat.. if done properly (and dangerous too)

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-B1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: This thing keeps your GPU cool. If you do it right, of course.

You really gotta tighten that bracket down. Make sure you can not see any gaps or openings between the waterblock and the gpu core. BUT DON'T TIGHTEN IT TOO MUCH OR YOU WILL BEND YOUR PCB. I tightened it down to a good degree and have a tiny, very slight bend. which is not good, but i'm fine with it as long as my temps are good. And they're not so bad - about 48-50 C under FULL load on a gtx 780 6gb. Bear in mind that my ambient temps are real bad (30-35 C)

And don't put too much thermal paste, a little pea sized dot is more than enough. Also don't use arctic silver or you'll blow your gpu

Cons: You really gotta do it right. took me a few tries and a few reapplications of thermal goop. Make sure that puppy is nice and tight - but not TOO tight.

And this thing is heavy when you pair it with an x40. Turns your GPU into a 3 slot card. with some added gpu sag as a bonus.

last but not least. don't plug the pump into your motherboard or you might fry it - just plug it into your power supply with a molex to 3 pin adapter. i actually fried my mobo by using the usb header on the x40. don't use it.

Other Thoughts: the manual is awful and confusing

4 out of 5 eggsGood product

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-B1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: allow's low cost water cooling, soooo quiet compared to stock Dual fans on 7870, easy install.

Cons: Cooling for one side of PCB board only, wouldnt recommend for serious GPU OC'ers, but do recommend for mild OC/Stock/or less.

Instructions are not idiot proof, read carefully and think DO...NOT...OVERTIGHTEN...MOUNTING...SCREWS!

provided cooling fan connector does not retro fit into GPU PCB, so you will need an extra fan header on your MB or PSU. I recommend molex to fan header jumper for waterpump for MB safety.

Other Thoughts: The thumb screws provided are awkward to use with my fat fingers but dont use a screwdriver to install them, remember that the original mounting screws on your GPU are spring loaded (most) so you only have to tighten those until the rubber washers under the thumb screws squish lightly.

I paired this kit with a Corsair H50 on a AMD 7870, Stock temps were 91c, this kit dropped that to 45c (under full load Heaven BM) Idle went from 60c to 24-27c.

Took one egg off because they could have designed some sort of cooling for the rear of the GPU PCB, but all in all a good product

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointing all around

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-B1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: It *does* allow you to attach a water cooler to a GPU, after a fashion

Cons: biggest problem - does not fit Corsair H50 cooler, despite claims of compatibility, It took 20min with a file, filing down those locking tabs before I was able to fit through the pump.
Second problem, the bracket made out of soft, bendy steel, Having to clamp it in a vise for filing (see above) resulted in piece bending and some of the paint flaking off.
Does not fit on a stock GTX 780Ti - the plate touches power plugs at the end of the card - but easy to fix by bending the bracket LOL.
Rather low quality, noisy supplied fan.

Other Thoughts: By all measures this product should cost about $10. $40 for this is really an insult which is going to affect my future purchasing decisions with regards to NZXT brand

5 out of 5 eggsDoes its job and does it well, but know what you are buying!! This is for a 290x install

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-B1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: Great solution.
High quality parts!
So much easier to install than "DWood's Brackets"
92mm is whisper quiet. This is coming from someone with a case full of Noctua fans.
Properly done configuration will make the EXTREMELY loud 290x be a whisper quiet. (The stock quiet mode on a reference 290x throttles down to almost gtx670 performance because of the heat. You can get rid of this by bumping up the fan speed but it sound just like my vacuum cleaner. Reminds me of my gtx 480!!)

I've been using AIO coolers on GPU since they first became popular at OCN (Overclick.net) under the names the "Red Mod" and "Green Mod". An artisan by the name of DWood started making brackets that would allow you to mount the AIO coolers to the Gfx cards instead of using zip ties. While those brackets and these are functional identical, this bracket is A LOT easier to install! The hardest part of the DWood bracket was that you had to hold the bracket, AIO cooler, and screw at the same time. Which basically requires good skill or three hands. With the NZXT bracket, the back plate and screw or held to the PCB by bolts which makes applying the AIO cooler and retention brackets a breeze! BIG Props to NZXT on this one!!

Cons: None as far as it pertains to the bracket!

Maybe manual doesn't say 290x needs a shim, but it does; however I knew this before due to research.

Other Thoughts: A few things a 290x buyer should be aware of. I am using a reference XFX 290x.

First if you are buying this for a 290x, you will need to order THREE additional items.
1) An All In One (AIO) cooler with fans
2) You will need a copper shim to use between the GPU chip and the AIO cooler.
3) You will need heat sinks for the TWO VRMs on the 290x.

For the copper shim, I went with a EK 7970 Copper shim.
For the VRM heatsinks, I went with Gelid enchance 290x VRM heatsinks. Model: GELD-IV-R9-290/X-EnhKit (Kind of hard to find right now, but this is the one you need since it comes with heat skins for BOTH VRM 1 and VRM 2)

Without out the copper shim temps will be go over 100C very fast and comp will shut down.
Without the VRM heatsinks you CANNOT OC the card at all or temps on the VRM 2 (The VRM that is not under the fan and sits at the front of the board) will quickly get to over 100C! Even at stock clocks my front VRM hits 80C!

My setup:
Works great. Im using Noctua NT-H1 thermal paste, an Antec Kuhler H2O 620, and Two Noctua NF-F12 fans that are connected to 290x fan plugin with a Gelid CA-PWM-02 adapter (Allows afterburner to control the PWM fans on the AIO).
Temps:
Idle around 40C with fans at 20%
Load: 60-70C with fans at 50%
I went for a quiet profile (the teme of my whole build) over low temps. Bump the fans up and the temps will go down quick.

5 out of 5 eggsdestroy oppression...the point to reaction

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-B1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: This little baby is the best invention for PC gaming since the 9700 Pro.As I planned, I used this with a Water 3.0 Extreme (open box)... I knew the GTX 780 Ti I was buying already had heatsinks on the RAM and VRMs after taking off the air cooler. I'm now running 35c full gaming load. I'll type it out... thirty --- five ---degrees --- Celsius. Overclocked to 1300 Mhz. I have another GTX 780 Ti in-bound that will receive the same treatment. If you have the space, forget your HSF and get this with a decent cooler. Best 80-100 beans you'll ever spend if you don't want a full water loop.

Cons: could have come with more stuff for RAM and VRMs... not just the fan. I guess that wasn't the point.

Other Thoughts: I am glad to relay this information to you.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect!!!

This review is from: NZXT RL-KRG10-B1 Sleeve Kraken G10 GPU Bracket

Pros: This thing fit perfect on my Asus GTX 780ti Direct CU II OC. Paired it up with the Corsair H90 and some Enzotech BCC9 VGA Cooler pure copper VRAM Heatsinks. Cooler Master Storm Trooper Case sports it perfect. Before with the Direct Cu II Cooer I was getting a load temp of 80-81c for BF4 after a few hours of gameplay with a 44C at idle with fans on auto and VRM temps of 95c-98c. This card was really heating up my room. After the Kraken G10 install with the H90 with fans in push pulll and Enzotech Ramsinks I get idle of 31c-33c and a load temp of 48c-50c after several hours of BF4 with max VRM temps of 75c to 80c. Keep in mind the Asus GTX780ti Direct CU II has a stock VRM heatsink. This is a premium since the reference 780ti has the VRM bare to the reference heatsink. The NZXT Kraken G10 Backplate fit perfectly over the ASUS GTX 780ti Direct CU II back plate. All assembled perfectly around the back plate from ASUS and tightened down nicely. No sag in the card.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: This more than exceeded my expectations and now I know my card will last much longer than with the regular heatsink. Do yourself a favor and get one of these!!!
