5 out of 5 eggsLove this fan

Pros: I bought this fan 7 years ago and still runs as quiet and as fast as it did when I bought it. Runs about 2361 rpms most times but is about 2390 max. This was built to last. Had used this on a Celeron E1200 dual core for 5 years, now have it on a Pentium D processor. My Celeron E1200 still works. Ill probably try to find a nice motherboard and build a new system with it. When I do that ill purchase this cooling fan and heatsink.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggslasted years...

Pros: Had it for a few years, still spins at 2361 rpm great cooler extending the life of my old p4 and now a second hand pentiumm d @ 3.40ghz, temps are good for an all aluminum cooler.

Cons: Hard to disassemble the fan from sink i did not try to, so it makes it a bit harder to clean, sticking tape in between fins works well with compressed air.

Other Thoughts: using in a htpc, it is the most silent fan in the system.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than stock Intel cooler

Pros: I purchased this AND some arctic silver 5 thermal paste to replace a worn our stock heat sink and some cheap dynex thermal paste I was using for years. Here are the pros:

1. SCREW PINS!!! - Soooo much better than the worthless plastic push pins in the stock heat sink (Intel Core 2 Duo). One of my push pins was broken so I was most likely getting less contact area between cpu and heat sink, therefore reducing the heat transfer. The screw pins allow for a much more secure fit, translating to more cpu/heat sink area in contact, resulting in better heat transfer.

2. Gaming temps - Brought my gaming temps down by about 10 C in each core. Down from 60+ C to just over 50 C.

Cons: Not really a con, but idle temps did not change at all (still ~ 40 C) but those weren't a problem and probably will not get any lower with just a fan and thermal paste.

Other Thoughts: This cooler + arctic silver 5 were a pretty good upgrade over the stock heat sink and cheap dynex thermal paste. The screw pins are so much easier to deal with than plastic push pins, and my gaming temps went down about 10 C.

5 out of 5 eggsGood, cheap cooling

Pros: Low price, effective. Keeping my C2D E7400 at 30C idle and mid to high 30s under a load.

Cons: Only a 3 wire connector so no PWM (fan speed control) which means it isn't the quietest cooler ever.

Other Thoughts: Since Intel says my CPU will stay healthy up to 74C, I would prefer to let it get a little warmer and keep the noise down by being able to lower the fan speed, but, for the price, there's really nothing to complain about with this cooler.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Actual screws instead of the plastic push pin options around, pretty quiet. simple design

Cons: I have two of these in two different pcs. and they both died within six months of being bought.... the bearings on these fans simply suck. They are both systems that are on 24/7 so i don't know maybe that has something to do with it but i dont think so. I would stay away from this brand

Other Thoughts: If they didnt die so fast they would be great. and they were bought six months apart as well so i don't think it was a bad batch

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet and Cool

Pros: Easy installation, very quiet and very cool

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: I have a 2.4 ghz Core 2 quad processor and it was running really hot - averaging about 70c degrees. Now its running in the low 40's. I scraped the old cpu paste off the cpu with a razor blade and applied some new artic silver compound along with this heatsink and it made all the difference.

5 out of 5 eggsBlessed Silence

Pros: Quiet

Cons: None that I know of

Other Thoughts: Haven't really checked the CPU temps much to see if it's helping since the reason I purchased it was because my stock fan sounded like it was going to launch the PC into space any minute. Now I'm back to ignoring the machine and assuming all is well since it's not constantly drawing my attention.
