It is a decent cpu cooler
- Pros: It cools i7 920 reasonably well, which OC'ed to 3.6GHz. And it is not too loud at all even @ full speed. It is near silent when spins <1000 rpm in which cpu is actively idle.
- Cons: It can't compete with thermalright extreme120. I wonder why Newegg does not carry thermalright any more.
- Other Thoughts: It is somewhat similar to Zalman 9900 but much light in weight(because of the building material). May be cooling cpu a little less than 9900 which is loud though. The fan is seal between 2 heatsink so I never accidently hit by the fan. I like it. However, after 2 weeks using it. I decided to buy thermalright 120 extreme also, which cools i7 920 @ 3.8GHz noticably better, even the fan only spins @1200rpm. In general, if you only OC your i7 CPU for 20%, then this is a very good cooler, light weigh, not too big, and quiet. For hard core player, OC 40% or more, then thermalright 120 is the way to go.
Big But Great
- Pros: Really Quiet, I like the Light in the middle, gives you confidence to oc your cpu.
- Cons: Sort of Huge for my mid case it's like almost touching the case. The assembly was a little hard on my AMD board. I almost gave up because the instructions weren't that clear....and it was my first time putting on an aftermarket cpu cooler on a mobo. but it comes with everything you need to make it fit into what it says it can fit, you just need a lot of determination... and small hands lol... to get those those things screwd on.
- Other Thoughts: Overall I was glad that I bought it and put it on my m4a78 plus mobo with phenom x4 945.
cool
- Pros: keeps my Q9650 cool even under load looks good also
- Cons: none
