5 out of 5 eggsVery Good Heat-Sink Greate Value+++

Pros: This is a much better heat-sink then I expected. When I shop for heat-sink for quad-core or higher I always bought more expensive ones then this, and sometimes I was not happy with results. This item keep temps down to 37C (lower then AMD stock heat-sink) for a AMD quad core.

Cons: didn't find sooner!

Other Thoughts: Newegg is the best!!!

3 out of 5 eggsWorks OK

Pros: Worked well

Cons: Doesn't last.

Other Thoughts: granted the computer was on constantly for 2 years, the fan has finally stopped. expected 4 years. but price when i got it wasn't bad at all.

1 out of 5 eggsBeware

Pros: Easy install

Cons: Unit rated for 40,000 hours (approximately 4.5 years) but only lasted 16 months. Potential for catastophic CPU failure if MassCool 5W1081F1M3 failure not recognized in time.

1 out of 5 eggsManufacturer doesn't stand behind its product

Pros: NONE

Cons: Do not buy this product. Masscool doesn't stand behind it. The specs say 40,000 life hours which would be over 4 1/2 years. The fan on mine started making a buzzing noise at 1 year and 1 1/2 months. Mascool doesn't want to make any exceptions.

Other Thoughts: I do understand that Mascool say it has a 1 year’s warranty, but I feel if you say that it has 40,000 life hours rating & it fails in just a fraction of that time then they should do the right thing and stand behind their product and replace it. I will never buy another product from Mascool company ever again.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: inexpensive fan, coupled it with arctic silver AA thermal compound and CPU operates from 30C no load to about 35 at moderate load. Great for the price if not needing CPU at full load for more than a few minutes at a time.

Cons: At CPU running 100%, reached temps of 65C...could potentially be damaging if maintained for extended amounts of time.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect!!!

Pros: Smooth install. I bought an Asus A3A78-EM Micro ATX board with an AMD Phenom quad core processor. This fan just clipped in place with a drop of thermal paste, and 1 month later...we are still running smooth. Very quiet, no issues cooling even when the processor is running at 98%+!

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: If you were looking for an inexpensive and high quality cpu fan, this is the one!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: It cools for my AMD2 Athlon 6000+ , good replacement cooler, it's a good value cooler that is better than the stock cooler, It's very simple replacement. Fits just as the stock. CPU runs 30s idle and low 50s maxed out. high recommend this one

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: MY EXPERIENCE: I've been building PC's since 1997 and have been A+ certified since 1998. Other certs: Oracle DBA ,CNE, MCSE, ASE, CCNA, Security+, 3Com certs and others.

1 out of 5 eggsNice fan, but not terribly useful

Pros: Large fan, which should dissipate a lot of heat

Cons: I'll never know how good it might have worked, since the fan didn't have enough clearance for capacitors that were right next to the CPU. Had the bottom of the fins been about 3-4mm higher, there'd have been no problem, but as it stands, there was no way to lock it down without squashing the caps right by the CPU. I checked all THREE of my other Athlon 939 motherboards, and NONE of them had their caps far enough away that this fan could have been used.

Other Thoughts: Great idea, absolutely terrible execution. A bit of research by Masscool on ways they could make this useful to a majority of systems would have been nice. It's frustrating that I wanted the additional cooling, but can't actually use the heatsink and return shipping doesn't make it worth returning.
