4 out of 5 eggsJust didn't fit Radeon 8500LE 64MB

Pros: All copper construction, good price. Quiet operation. Mine came with larger mounting ears allowing ability to drill mounting holes 80mm apart to adapt to my Nvidia 6600GT AGP board.

Cons: Will NOT fit older ATI Radeon 8500LE 64MB cards. Apearantly these cards had a bonded heatsink with a small 40mm fan held into the heat sink with 4 screws.

Other Thoughts: This fan actually came with larger distanced mounting ears than what shows in the pictures.(allowing an 80mm spread) My BFG6600GTOC also needed a new fan and it was identical less the required holes in the extended ears. Drilled holes in the ears (.113 drill) and voila! it mounts up. This may work for non-OC 6600 AGP cards as long as your HSI cooler is NOT part of your GPU cooler. (quite a few are) This fan/heatsink is not quite as big/beefy as the stock BFG unit so i would NOT recommend it as a BFG replacement. The BFG fan is 45x45mm and thicker gauge heatsink base/slightly larger fins and the Spire is 40x40mm with thinner gauge heatsink base and smaller fins. Nice unit, just not for me. Not worth time/$ to return, tossing it in the drawer.

3 out of 5 eggslittle dremel goes a long way

Pros: keeps card very cool, great price to oc new life into an older card

Cons: installed on a Radeon 9600 it hit 2 caps on the card but i just drilled some holes in the heatsink and it slipped right over the top works great now.

Other Thoughts: may take an adventurous spirit but it can be made to work wonderfully

Pros: good fan?

Cons: DOES NOT CONTACT the vpu on the ATI Radeon 9800 PRO. There is a shim around the vpu that keeps it from making contact! The stock heatsink has a ridge to reach below the shim. DO NOT make the same mistake I did, seriously heated my card. I am very upset.

3 out of 5 eggsummm......

Pros: clean

Cons: no leds

Other Thoughts: Installed and my card crapped out. Followed instructions to the T and made sure all was static free and clean. Guess that's what happens when you try to upgrade old cards.

3 out of 5 eggsQuiet, but disappointing.

Pros: Relatively quite fan, fit perfectly into the holes on my 9600 Pro.

Cons: I knew something was wrong when I took the fan out of the package. There is no Blue LED. It's just not there.
Further, the fan was blocked by the transducers on my 9600 pro.

3 out of 5 eggs

5 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: Looks great, copper, cools well.

Cons: Only came with 4 ramsinks, though it showed that in the picture. Ramsink adhesive was very cheap.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to slap on a Radeon 9800 with a dead fan. Stuck card in freezer, took it out, pulled off heatsink/fan, let sit overnight, put on new. Instalation was a breeze except for the ramsink adhesive.

4 out of 5 eggsMeets but doesn't exceed expectations...but it works!

Pros: The copper base is fairly thick and heavy which should be good for heat dissipation, I was afraid it was going to be too bulky. There are two different holes drilled in it for alignment purposes so your fan doesn't interfer with the AGP/PCIexpress slot when the car is reinstalled. Fits into my Gigabyte GeForce FX 5200 just fine. Other than that, I have not even powered on the system yet...I'll give it some time and see how good the longetivity of the fan will be.

Cons: Technically this is NOT compatible with the GeForce FX 5200 because the power connector is NOT 2 pin as advertised, it is a 3 pin connector much like a CPU fan or other case fan that is not a molex power connect. It is exactly as indicated in the picture of the product. I'm either going to have to use the adapter and plug it into a standard molex power connector or cut and splice the original power wire connector from the OEM fan that was on the card previously so I can use the power connector on the video card. I was hoping this would be a quick plug and play snap...I don't want to use another power connector external of the video card as it is just another wire hanging in the case and doesn't look real pretty. Supposidly this lil fan will have a blue LED in it...sounds cute...but I want mean...not cute!

4 out of 5 eggsEh...

Pros: Well the install was cake... I used arctic silver 5 rather than the Silicon they give you.. so far so good.

Cons: none.... yet

Other Thoughts: We'll see if it can handle the heat of my radeon on full load... and if it can then it's a good product, if not then I'll suggest something else.
