3 out of 5 eggsQuiet????

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H50 Quiet Edition Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 120mm

Pros: Great cooling went down to 20C

Cons: Heavy noise, made by the original corsair fan, no gum dampers for the mounting.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Wonders

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H50 Quiet Edition Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 120mm

Pros: Keeps temps nice and cool

Practically silent

Cons: Installing it was a pain
Had to register it in my BIOS to get it to function properly

Other Thoughts: Installing it was a pain. If I were to go back in time and tell myself one thing while installing this, it would be to make sure the bracket to mount the cooler to the cpu is locked into the groves on the cooler itself BEFORE screwing it in. You can't just simply screw the bracket in slightly, then drop in the cooler and twist it into place, and then drop down the bracket more to screw it in.

My idle temps are at around 37c-40c, and under load it sticks around 60c-70c with my i7-4790K CPU.

I actually got this to replace my Zalman CNPS9500A aftermarket cooler, because the fan made too much noise. The Corsair H50 makes practically no sound, and keeps my temps even cooler.

I should also note that booting it up for the first couple times, you will hear the liquid gurgling in the cooler. But don't worry, because that goes away after only a few boot-ups.

Also when I booted up for the first time after installing it, my BIOS would say that there was an error with the CPU fan. I had to set it to water-cooling system in the Auto Qfan Tuning setup that came with my ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO motherboard.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Liquid Cooling

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H50 Quiet Edition Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 120mm

Pros: Bought to make sure my build is cool. I am currently using this to cool my i7 and GTX 970 FTW. I have 4 large fans and liquid cooling. My computer temperatures do not go above 25 C.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Product, Lame instructions

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H50 Quiet Edition Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 120mm

Pros: This product will turn your CPU into a freezer. My case runs so cold with it and CPU stays -20 less than with the stock fan. It also looks BA in the case too.

Cons: The instructions suck. Took me 3 hours to install it. I highly recommend looking online and not following the Manuel.

5 out of 5 eggsI Am Sorry For Doubting You Hydro Series

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H50 Quiet Edition Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 120mm

Pros: I bought this because the INTEL quadcores all seem to get too hot for the standard fan/heatsink combo. I noticed after 2 years, my pc had increased in temp heavily and needed some help. This product erased any and all heat issues in my rig.

Installation was not complicated. Installing a heatsink is ALWAYS the most delicate and critical part of building your own pc, so I could definitely see some people doing it "wrong", but this is not the most challenging one Ive had to fit, and it sits very secure.

Not only did this unit drop my CPU temp dramatically and improve my gaming, its also very small. When I attached the watercooler to my rear fan, it made my "cluttered internals" look well organized and improved airflow.(which also helps the whole system). If you for some reason cannot attach the cooler to your rear fan, this unit would still work, just a bit more clutter.

Fits my system / gaming style / overclocking just wonderfully. I could not be happier and the price was great. Keep in mind, intel's free cpu cooler is simply NOT going to bring out the full potential of a gaming computer.

Cons: Installing a cpu cooler MUST BE DONE correctly. Check youtube for the step by step procedure. It helped me and so I have literally zero Cons.

Other Thoughts: After one year, I started hearing what sounded like pulsing water. It started kinda soft, but the computer is right next to my bed and eventually this sound grew in volume. I dealt with it for 3 days then finally could not take anymore! I thought to myself: "That darn watercooler lasted one year and is now kicking the bucket ... time for a new one."

* Keep in mind, I am so satisfied with this, I wouldve just bought the exact same one.

When I finally got around to open my pc up, I removed the sidepanel to find I was mistaken ... The sound was not from the cooler at all!! There was a piece of cheap plastic hanging from my graphics card that had become jammed in the fan. I removed it and my rig is now silent ... and I mean ... SILLLENTTTTT haha.

I most formally apologize for ever doubting this CORSAIR Hydro Series. :) LOVE IT

4 out of 5 eggsIgnore my previous review. I am an idiot.

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H50 Quiet Edition Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 120mm

Pros: I am writing to balance my prior review which was seriously flawed. Ack. If I could delete that review I would. I couldn't install it because I didn't know how, but thought I did because I thought I was following the instructions. The only thing I can say in my defense is that the installation instructions for this cooler seriously suck.

That said, it now runs fine and seems to be doing the job. Much quieter than a normal air fan, and it is keeping my cpu nice and cool.

Cons: Terrible instructions. They give you a single line of instruction for each diagram, but that just isn't enough to tell you how to install it. If you've installed other coolers like this, you'll probably have no trouble figuring it out. If you're trying to do it from the instructions, you'll probably fail. At least I did.

Other Thoughts: I wish I could remove my earlier review :( Sorry, Corsair! Sorry NewEggers!

5 out of 5 eggsperfect

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H50 Quiet Edition Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 120mm

Pros: Quiet, efficent, cheap, effective

Cons: none? maybe if the hoses that contain the coolant were a bit longer it would have allowed me to setup the fan & radiator differently.

5 out of 5 eggsTerrific GPU Cooler

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H50 Quiet Edition Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 120mm

Pros: - Great for newcomers to liquid coolers.
- Replaces Intel & AMD stock fans.
- Decent size for mid-ATX cases.
- Excellent cooling performance.
- Easy installation.

Cons: - The pump developed some noise over time, but not a big deal.
- More length and flexible in the hoses.

For some reason when I had the radiator at a vertical position, it would make loud noises. Yet when I place the radiator with a horizontal position at the base of my CM Storm Stryker, I do not run into the noise problem with the pump.

Other Thoughts: I originally use the Corsair H50 on my i5-3750k for the duration of 6 six months and wanted to cool down my GPU on my Evga GTX 760 SC 2 GB with the assistance of the NZXT Kraken G10.

It is a proficient water cooler to start off with for quiet system load. I recommend a push-pull setup on the radiator for better airflow and results.

4 out of 5 eggsGood, but....

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H50 Quiet Edition Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 120mm

Pros: Nicely made, Quality feel, Quiet (mostly), Good Performance

Cons: Slightly difficult installation, Horrible directions, Noisy when mounted horizontally, Only cools a few degrees more than air coolers costing half as much.

Other Thoughts: This cooler would probably be OK in a standard mounting position(vertical), but I have a Corsair 250D case which mounts a mini-ATX motherboard horizontally. This puts the cooler horizontal also, and that's where the problem arises. It makes a Hard drive-like ticking sound from the pump the entire time it is on. If I turn the case on it's side, positioning the pump vertical, it is completely quiet. The ticking is the loudest thing in the case. Not good for something called "Quiet Edition". I'm going to return it and get an air cooler
