CORSAIR CAFA70 120mm A70 Dual-Fan CPU Cooler

Pros: Very economic, cools great, 2500k running at 4.5GHz.

Cons: Can't reach the ~5.0GHz mark like the Noctua cooler, which is expected of such an economical cooler in this price range.

Pros: i love this cooling system. even though it isnt water-cooled it took my cpu temp from 55-58 degrees on a stock cooler to a great low temp of 32-33 degrees underload aka running 2 games at onceas well as streaming videos and many other things. i have a unlocked 4 core AMD 960t to a 6 core processor that i put this baby on and it keeps it cool

Cons: forgot how big 120mm is compared to 80mm fans its huge. didnt realize how big it was until i tried to put tried to put it on my micro atx board haha. theres about an inch between my power supply and this cooling system. but not complaining at all cause this system is a monster haha

Other Thoughts: overall a great cooling system for people that have space and dont want to get water cooled. i also got this as a shellshocker and got it for around $34 which is a great price

Cons: instructions are pretty bad, they're mostly (bad) pictures and leave out a few steps. Sadly, this has been the case with the last 4 CPU cools I have bought, from several different companies. Have technical writers gone extinct, or something?

You can't grip the thrumbscrews well enough to tighten the cooler on by hand, and they're partly under the cooler, making using a phillips driver nearly impossible. I had to break out the vice grips to tighten them on right. A tun that I could use an allen driver or wrench on would be much more appreciated.

Other Thoughts: Note that I did not even turn on the stock fans on, I had purchased a pair of Scythe SY1225SL12LM-P fans specifically to use with this cooler. 300-1300 PWM fans, paired with a Fractal Design Define Mini case, the computer is totally silent - even with the fans at full speed.

Also, while this cooler was packaged with some thermal compound, I used some AR5 that I had lying around.

Pros: I got this for $25 with the instant and mail in rebates a while ago.

Cons: Isn't free

Other Thoughts: Corsair processed and mailed back the rebate quickly. I have done rebates before and gotten no response. Corsair doesnt rip you off like other manufacturers.

Pros: Nice brushed finish on the fins, quiet fans, the quality I've come to expect from Corsair products. Keeps my I7 950 at or below 45c under load.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Not for small cases, barely fit inside my Antec Lanboy. Cover went on with only 1/4" to spare between the mesh and the top of the heatsink.

Pros: I have to say this is a rather nice head sink and cooler. I went from a stock cool that came with my I7 950, to this and dam talk about night and day. Withte stock cooler, if my I7 ever went above 75% load it would over heat and force a shutdown. I got so bad at points i had to under clock my cpu if i knew a program would cause it go about 75% load. With this my temps are down to 22 c idle or less and never above 40 c under full load on a hot day.

Cons: its size- the thing is a beast if you have a small case forget about it, it wont fit. lucky i had a semi large case so it fit fine. (NZXT tempest evo, incase some with that case is looking to make sure this fits in it.)

a pain to get on, though that might becuase i was doing it the hard way, so no egg lose there.

the thing seems rather heavy to be hanging on the board that way, but everything is working fine and nothing broke so i guess its not too heavy.

Other Thoughts: if your case has top fan that pull heat out make sure you have it to where the air push fromt he fan is pushing it out, other wise your working againest your other fans and traping more heat

Pros: Temperatures have dropped 4-5 degrees Celsius. I've done a couple of 10 mins torture tests using Prime95. According to AI Suite II's temperature monitor my CPU doesn't go higher than 52 degrees Celsius.

Cons: This heat sink is wider than a Hyper 212 Evo which means that I've lost a RAM slot. For those using a Maximus IV Gene-Z you will loose a RAM slot if you get this heat sink. It's not a big deal for me, but if you like to use all 4 RAM slots then you better look at a different cooler.

Other Thoughts: This is a very well built heat sink. I do not know how loud the stock fans are as I'm using a couple of Noctua NF-P12's. Really like the front Corsair plate. It definitely looks better than my old Hyper 212 Evo.

Pros: Keeps my i5 2500k at 4.5ghz stay really cool.

Cons: very big in size but i knew that before buying. Also the fan connectors are only 3 pin connectors so the motherboard keeps the fans running at 100% all the time

Pros: Too many. To start off, the size is right. It's big, provides excellent cooling performance, but not overwhelming. I have tried it on several motherboards, and there is ALWAYS enough space underneath the fans to install ram sticks with medium size heat spreaders. If you use the G.skill ripjaw X series, the bottom of the fan will touch the top of the heatspreader, but it's a nice fit. The installation is a breeze, pop in the backplate and tighten 4 screws and you are done. Two fans are included. Fans are housed in two plastic shrouds with rubber studs to reduce vibration, and those plastic shrouds snap on to the heatsink nicely. They are secure, yet easy to remove. At 1600rpm speed, the fans are fairly quiet. Finally the price is decent for a mid-range air cooler.

Cons: Doesn't match the cooling performance of Noctua NH-D14, but it's also not oversized or cost 90 dollars. Fans are extremely noisy at 2000RPM, make sure you use the included resistor cable to reduce that speed down to 1600. Applying thermal paste on heatpipe direct contact cooler is always a pain.

Other Thoughts: Bought tons of those for many builds, they were cheaper back then. There were 4 black rubber / plastic rings in the package I never used, and I still no idea what those are for.

Pros: this CPU cooler has half the noise and twice the cool, it moves more air than my case can even try and let in and keeps my CPU right wear i want it with no effort.

Cons: Alot bigger than i expected, now i need tu buy a bigger case
