The Air Series AF120 fans let you have it all. Nine ultra-thin, custom-molded blades push ample air volume. Rubber corners dramatically reduce vibration. The advanced hydraulic bearing system is quiet and reliable, and you can customize the look with the three included colored rings.

Air Series AF fan models perform best in unrestricted spaces with at least 3cm of clearance, and they’re ideal for mounting at the rear or top of your PC case as exhaust fans for your PC’s motherboard and CPU, graphics accelerators, and other components that fill the case with heat. They work equally well as unrestricted intake fans for areas like side panels or bottom intakes. The AF120 Quiet Edition is available in single and twin packs.

4 out of 5 eggsAs least equally as quiet, and moves more air

Pros: I own a Cosmos 1000 case that already includes Cooler Master case fans. I recently bought a Mac Pro (used circa 2009) and was jealous about how amazingly quiet it is, so I embarked on an adventure to make my Cosmos 1000 and Windows PC as quiet as possible. My heat generator is the 125W AMD CPU in my case (as well as my Radeon 5870 GPU).

I replaced two of my Cooler Master fans with these two Corsair AF120 Quiet Edition. I can't say that these are any quieter than my previous Cooler Master fans (I think my old fans were already good quality since this was a 'quiet' tower case), but, I do feel that the Corsair move more air for the same dBA noise level.

More air seems to mean keeping the inside of the case a few degrees cooler, which means my CPU fan doesn't have to run as hard, which means a slightly quieter computer.

I did give the voltage reducer plugs a try but didn't reduce the dBA but a smidgeon.

I start out giving these 5 stars because I can't seem to find anything quieter. (If they are the quietest then don't they deserve 5 stars even though it didn't really improve my particular situation?). They are quiet (but if you already have good quality fans, you don't need these... if you have a cheap Chinese case with loud fan on it then you will love these Corsair fans). They come with the fan, four new screws and an adapter cable that I think is used to slow the fans down by reducing the voltage.

My next job will be to connect all fans and CPU fan to PWM splitter. My understanding is that by using this particular smart splitter, the motherboard will send PWM to the splitter and the splitter will increase/decrease RPM's not only on the CPU fan but all case fans connected to it. This way when my setup is not running hot it can ramp down the speed on all the fans and hopefully get things a bit quieter.

My other goal will be to upgrade to a 95W process and try a fanless CPU heatsink. I think that at least 50% or more of the noise I am hearing right now is my older Zalman fan.

Cons: The power cords on these fans are way, way, way too short and cannot reach the fan headers on my mother board. Extensions would be recommended and for another 10 cents I have no idea why they did not include longer power leads on their fans. Definitely knocking off 1 star for this (arguably you could knock of more stars, since if you can't connect it to your motherboard, you have to use MOLEX, and then the fans will run 100% RPM's whether it's needed or not).

I did not experience any issues with the rubber grommets reported by some of the other reviewers. Maybe this issue has been addressed already, or I received a "good batch" of fans.

Other Thoughts: Overall if your fans are noisy and annoy you, the Corsair Air AF120 are a good buy, and are probably the quietest case fans possible, while also providing great air flow. Beware the short power cords on the fans.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat fans, no threading.

Pros: - Looks great in any setup
- Moves enough air and is silent as heck
- Build quality is great (except the rubber mounts)
- Rings can be painted

Cons: The mounts are (rubber) rubbish. Corsair does NOT thread them, so any forcing of the screws WILL BREAK the rubber mounts. Trust me, one of my fans has a broken mount because of this. I dont understand why Corsair doesnt thread them themselves but I cant do anything at this point. If youre mounting them, go slowly and screw it, unscrew midway, screw it, unscrew, and repeat this process until each mount is threaded. Be patient, and dont rush this.

- Could use rings on both sides.

Other Thoughts: Im quite happy with them, besides the mounting problem.

3 out of 5 eggsQuiet

Pros: Quiet as advertised
Color rings are aesthetically appealing

Cons: Screw holes are cheap and flimsy.

Other Thoughts: Overall I'm pleased with this fans as they are quiet and pull good air these were my main concerns. For the price I'm a bit disappointed in the build quality of the color ring inserts as well as the screw holes. Using the supplied screws resolved in 2 of the plastics pieces becoming bound up on install. I installed 5 fans so take that for what you will. I would still buy them again however due to their performance and looks.

4 out of 5 eggsThose screw holes... eurgh

Pros: - Nice and quiet at 7V
- Includes 7V adapter cables
- Cool customisation touches with the coloured bezels

Cons: I will echo many of the other reviews and say that the ONLY bad thing about these fans is the horrific mounting holes for screws. Impossible to tap them without damaging at least one hole per fan. And don't even think about removing / repositioning... make sure you mount them in the right place on your first attempt!

Other Thoughts: Corsair, please improve the screw holes!

2 out of 5 eggsInstalling is a bear

Pros: Very attractive and sleek design that would instantly make any case look good, very quiet.

Cons: These very well may be the most difficult fans that you will ever install in a computer in your life. The rubber grommets on the corners makes it incredibly difficult to install. During the initial installation, I effectively destroyed two rubber grommets on each of the two fans that I installed. Then, realizing that I did not have enough clearance in my case, I had to remove them. That's when
I realized that trying to get these things out once they are in is even harder to do without destroying them than putting them in was. During removal, I destroyed one more grommet, and decided not to try again.

Other Thoughts: Looks great, but that's about it.

1 out of 5 eggsCan't give it 0 eggs!

Pros: They look pretty. That's about all I've got right now.

Cons: Absolutely impossible to put in. These have rubber "anti-vibration" mount which are soft rubber with an insert made of some harder material for the mounting screw to hold on to. As far as I can tell that "harder material" is adamantium or some similarly indestructible material as I have no completely rounded out on philips screw head just attempting to cut some threads.

This this in a nightmare and what terrifys me is that this is screw hole #1 of 40. I'm going to loose my sanity on these.

Other Thoughts: They're pretty so buy them, frame and mount them on the wall because you ain't getting them in your case.

5 out of 5 eggsCorsair Quality

Pros: -Silent, even when set to turbo
-The 3-pin Voltage step-down cable that comes with them is a great idea.
-Easy to change color rings
-Fit well in my case, no cable issues
-Black cables are easy to hide in most builds.

Cons: -Harder to mount, the rubber fittings for vibration control is nice but it was tough starting out to get the screw in without twisting and fighting a bit. Did not cause any issues once going.

Nothing big enough to take a whole egg off

Other Thoughts: I've never had a single issue with a Corsair product, these fans now included. They work, they look good when used as exhaust, and they are as quiet and smooth as you could expect from Corsair.

Would definitely buy these or other, larger Corsair fans again in the future.

3 out of 5 eggsGood airflow. Short Cables.

Pros: Moves lots of air.
Not too loud.

Cons: Cables are short.

Other Thoughts: I have these installed in a Define S.
I wanted to use these as front intake fans, but as I said in the cons, the cables are short. even using the 3pin connectors I couldn't mount these on the front of my case AND plug them in.

I had to re-position all of the fans in my case because of this. I put one of these on my cpu cooler (hyper 212 evo), and the other fan as rear exhaust.

These fans move a good amount of air. just beware how short the cables are.
