5 out of 5 eggsGreat fans!

Pros: QUIET! These still move quite a bit of air for being quiet edition fans. I swapped to these from SP120s and don't regret it one bit even though I did lose a little bit for low temps, but not much.

Cons: None. Although one of my 140mm fans (same as these just bigger) had a squeak not too long ago but has seemed to resolved itself.

Other Thoughts: I didn't feel this deserved to be a con, but these don't keep my system as cool as other fans, but I was tired of it sounding like a jet. So, keep that in mind. They don't move as much air as other options, but they really are quiet. Silent? No. Quiet? Yes.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat Support, Terrible Product

Pros: Corsair has unparalleled customer support! Easily submitted an RMA.

Cons: Who the hell thought up these rubber corners? I ordered a twin pack and a single fan - the screws, even though perfectly straight, stopped screwing in as soon as they hit the black plastic piece. Guess what? They spun freely in place and I actually had to cut and pull out the rubber, then use pliers to get the screws out. I couldnt even secure these to my case out of the box because the screws are honestly way too big.

Other Thoughts: Honestly if I didn't love other Corsair products as well as their awesome customer support I would suggest everybody stays away from these products. I had no problems installing my AF140's in the case - but I decided to flip them around to see what would happen. Guess what? One of the fans installed fine, but the other one had two screws get stuck and it resulted in my having to do the same thing. Had to rip the rubber out and use pliers to get the screws out. For the AF140s though, I just used some ingenuity and flipped the rubber corners around so that the holes that were undamaged were on the side I needed them to be on...

Still....1/5 Eggs for this product and that's because Corsair is a kind company.

They just need to changed it so that the part the screw goes into isn't connected to the rubby.

5 out of 5 eggsCorsair as usual.

Pros: nothing in depth will be discussed, the fan performs higher than 80% of the market, it delivers what corsair always does, excellent build, and excellent quality.

Cons: Corsair. release. a. proper. sealed. fan. housing.

Other Thoughts: the rubber feet are nice, but tightening down too much can cause the whole cooler to actually shift.
user created issue, not upon corsair.

5 out of 5 eggsVery quiet fans!

Pros: Very quiet fans, but still manage to move a lot of air. I ended up getting three of these fans to replace the two stock AF140L fans that came with my case. While the AF140L's were good, swapping out that pair for this new trio further reduced noise and increased airflow, and theses ones look better too (the stock AF140L's had grey fan blades in comparison to these black ones).

The swap-able colored bands are a nice touch.

Cons: The rubber boots can be a trick to work with, especially if you've never had these fans before.

Other Thoughts: Seriously, to make your life easier, pre-thread the fans before you try installing them. Get yourself a good sized Philips head screwdriver (preferably with a magnetic tip) and try threading a screw into each boot before you try to install the fan itself. Whenever you do get to installation, the screws need to be tight, but don't torque on them like a Gorilla. Once the screw is tight and flush, back it off about a quarter of a turn to relieve tension in the boot. You should see it noticeably relax back into place (you can also feel it too, for checking boots you might not be able to see once installed), while remaining snug and firmly installed.

I currently have a Corsair Carbide series Air-540, with three of these fans on intake, one of it's larger AF140 Quiet Edition fans on exhaust, and a pair of SP120 Quiet Editions on my Corsair H100i liquid CPU cooler (setup to exhaust out the top in a pull configuration, for easy radiator cleaning). Everything is controlled nicely with the UEFI BIOS on my ASUS Z97-A motherboard. At idle the system is nearly silent, and is still barely noticeable even with my i5 5690K Devil's Canyon @ 4.4GHz and EVGA GTX770 Dual SuperClocked under load.

2 out of 5 eggsMeh they are pretty

Pros: - Looks

Cons: - Terrible air flow i replaced my fans on my H105 for these and i couldnt do anything without going up to 70 celcius or higher!
- Hard to install the rubber bits make these very tricky as one of mine tore off the fan! so one fan down the drain

Other Thoughts: idk i would probably have gone with other fans if i would have known about either of these 2 cons i know that they are about being quite but still they suck

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We're sorry to hear that you're suffering performance drops while using our AF120 fans. We suspect that the reason that your system is getting hot is because of the type of fan that's being used. Air flow fans, such as the AF120, are meant to be used to move as much air through unrestricted spaces, meaning it's best used as a case fan for intake and exhaust. While static pressure fans, such as the SP120, are used to push air through highly restrictive environments and are best used on radiators, heat sinks, drive bays, etc. We suggest if you're going to replace the fans on the H105 or any radiator, that you switch over to the SP120 if you want better performance.

Also, feel free to contact us by submitting a ticket at or call us directly at 888-222-4346 and we'll be happy to replace your fan.

Thank you,
Corsair Customer Support
