Cooling today’s high-performance PCs is a complex task, and a single fan design can’t meet every need. The fan you use to exhaust hot air out of your case might not be the best fan to mount flush against a heatsink or radiator.

Static pressure is the measure of how well a fan can push air in this type of highly restrictive environment, and this is where the SP120 excels. Seven ultra-wide, custom-molded blades deliver high static pressure, and the customized fan enclosure helps airflow move in the right direction. The rubber mounts and the advanced hydraulic bearing system combine high reliability with low-noise operation. It’s an ideal solution for radiator and heatsink use, as well as drive bay intakes, and other locations where you’re mounting a fan directly adjacent to a heat source. Three included colored rings allow you to customize the look of the fan to match the rest of your hardware. The SP120 is available in single and twin packs.

  • newegg Strong but silent The seven wide body, low-pitch blades of the SP120 Quiet Edition fan combined with the custom housing provides up to 1.29 mm/H20 static pressure and 37.85 CFM airflow through heatsinks or radiators. With rubberized corners, a quiet and reliable Advanced Hydraulic Bearing, and an included step-down resistor for even quieter operation. The SP120 Quiet Edition fan operates at a low noise level of 23 dBA.
  • newegg Three colored Rings Three included colored rings (red, blue and white) allow you to customize the look of the fan to match the rest of your hardware.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for the money

Pros: Relative to some of the competition these are incredibly well performing fans for a very good price. Excellent on radiators and for any restricted environment (mini itx cases, cages in front of intake etc.). The ability to change a color on them between red, white, and blue make for some aesthetically pleasing results.

Cons: These do have some issues however. At full blast (12v) they do make a fair bit of noise and I do think that under volting them using either fan control software or some other means is a necessity. Fortunately corsair includes a voltage reducer in the box, otherwise this would have gotten 2 or 3 eggs.

Cables are relatively short and snaking them around added devices can be a challenge. Plan on purchasing a few 3 pin fan header extensions to keep cable management tidy to front case intake fans and anywhere else inside the case you plan on extending a fan to an extreme distance from the motherboard.

The rubber grommets require a fair bit of force to use the included screws to mount to the chassis. I ended up having to use a standard screwdriver (not phillips) to finish torquing the screws to the case.

Lastly, and the biggest problem for those that use these for what there designed for, the housing. If you notice these compared to standard fans they have a small opening that will exist when butted against a radiator, this provides a location for air to escape that won't cross radiator fins. In practice this doesn't result in much performance loss, but there is a loss due to a silly aesthetic choice. To regain that performance I have placed black tape along the edges to provide a "seal" and saw a small (3 degrees celsius) improvement in cooling temperatures after i did so. Higher density fin radiators this will become an issue.

Other Thoughts: Although these fans have there problems you can't beat the price and most of the issues can be solved relatively easily. I bought these to replace some dead Scythe GT AP-14's which are no longer being made and while they are comparable acoustically at 7v, at 12v a different story appears my remaining ap14's are much quieter and seem to move more air.

4 out of 5 eggsFairly quiet...

Pros: Sturdy build quality, relatively quiet, moves a good bit of air, two pack is super convenient.

Cons: Okay. So. These are quiet. Silent? No way. Are they very quiet? Meh. Also, in spite of the rubber insulated mounts, the fans still transmit some audible vibration to the case. They are just barely quiet enough to keep me from returning them.
Also, the power leads are ridiculously short!!! Had to order extensions AND use the provided resistor extension to make these work. Corsair should know better than this, especially since I bought these to work with a Corsair case!

Other Thoughts: I bought these to pull air in through a filter at the front of my Corsair C70 Vengeance case. I use be quiet! products for the rest of my cooling, but I couldnt bring myself to fork over the money to buy two more just to move air into the case.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Fans

Pros: I love these fans as they are very quiet for the amount of air they move. They also look good. There was only one snag with the fans and their installation.

Cons: The rubber mounts can be a pain. I broke the plastic surrounding the rubber mount on one trying to thread the darn thing in my case.

Other Thoughts: I would still buy more of these fans, just maybe next time use a little lube before i thread and tighten the screws.

4 out of 5 eggsNot a FAN of these rubber screw mounts..

Pros: The fan itself is quiet and pushes a lot of air, very good design.

Cons: The rubber fan mounts are the only bad thing about these fans. There's no contact with the plastic when you mount these, the entire fan is supported by rubber with a small plastic tube in the center for the screws to cut into. There's no resistance between the inner tube and the fan frame which means the rubber has to take all that force when you put your screws in. I actually had one fan mount tear. The screw mount separated itself from the rest of the rubber mount and that was it, no way to repair it. I was able to flip the rubber mount around and still get the screw in, but mounting these fans without destroying the rubber mounts wasn't fun.

Other Thoughts: I purchased 5 of these total, 3x pwm and 2x 3-pin. I have Noctua's in my main rig and I much prefer the mounting system that they use over this. It's just a rubberized sleeve that fits over the fan frame. You still get a metal to plastic mount with rubber in between.

5 out of 5 eggsPremium Fans

Pros: Quiet, if not silent. Attractive design. Rubber mounts to fight vibration.

Cons: expensive (at least in my mind). I bet my future self will be mad at me for spending $30 on fans for my computer

3 out of 5 eggsLube it, or lose it.

Pros: -Awesomely quiet fans, functions just as desired (minus install issue)
-The colored rings look awesome and enhance the ultra quiet experience.
-I have improved the case temps by replacing the stock fans with these bad boys.
-I like what Corsair is trying to do with the rubber isolation material at the mounting points.

Cons: I have one very major gripe about these fans. I have had a very negative experience while mounting these fan... Ugh!
So, like a few others that have posted about this same issue... I ripped the mounts from the rubber pad while threading the fasteners through the fan, on two in fact. A few pads ended up being a thrashed mess and I was forced to reverse them so I could actually mount them. Which brings me to my title.

USE A LITTLE LUBE ON THE MOUNTING POINTS AND PRE-THREAD BEFORE YOU INSTALL TO AVOID DAMAGE.

I did for the other sides and had no issues with them threading in after that. I really wish Corsair could have made me more aware that this could happen or design the unit not to be so easy to damage.

Other Thoughts: I was really disappointed by the issues I had installing the fans. After investing in a showpiece PC with these fans, just to have them be partially destroyed before getting to even run them does not go over with me to well. Sigh... I really wish I could get a couple replacement rubber pads to swap out with the broken ones.

1 out of 5 eggshonestly the worst fans ever

Pros: Interchangeable rings

Cons: These fans are extremely loud and make a buzzing noise off the bat. When screwing them in the rubber things get in the way causing the screw not to go in causing the rubber things to rip off. Then once I rma them the second ones blades fly off and go straight thr

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: These fans are quite. While running the fans at full speed I can't hear either of them even while gaming. I have a Bitfenix Comrade case and put both fans in front of my hard drive cages. There are very few vents to pull air through the front of my case and the HDD cages restrict air flow. These pressure optimized fans have helped drop my case temps from an idle of 32C to around 23C on my CPU and from an idle of 37C to 33C on my GPU. Great fans and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for pressure optimized fans.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I used CoreTemp and GPUMonitor to find the temperatures of my CPU and GPU.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice Upgrade

Pros: I bought these to replace the noisy stock fans on my h80i and also for better aesthetic. Instantly i could see and hear a difference. Also, the build quality is great like most corsair products and the interchangeable colored accent rings are an added bonus to a great fan.

Cons: The fan lead cables could be a little longer
