3 out of 5 eggsWork(ed) like a champ

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Efficient when both fans are running. Never had a heat issue, kept my CPU cool.

Cons: Went out after five months

Other Thoughts: The water pump went out on my H100i this morning after rebooting the PC for updates. I redid the heat sink paste and even changed cpus but it is the h100i that went out. Have to use a stock cpu cooler til I buy a new one. No heavy gaming for a while I guess.

4 out of 5 eggsCool but loud

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Performance of the H100i is capable of cooling my overclocked six core processor (i7-5820K) on loads. The fan noise at high setting is noticeable. The H100i has a very solid design. The LED Corsair logo brightens an case design. Link Corsair software a nice touch, but redundant. My ASUS Motherboard utility software supports temp display and fans speed better.

Cons: Better option using BIOS or motherboard software solution for temp gauge and speed display for fans. Link connection not necessary, adds to cable management. May want to replace stock fans with something better. Fans are loud at peak usage.

Other Thoughts: Overall, great product and easy installation.

5 out of 5 eggsCorsair H100i

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Very nice cooler with excellent build quality. Fans move ALOT of air without being obnoxious. Corsair provided 5 year warranty.

Cons: Not as cheap as a cooler master seidon 240m, but the $10 rebate helps.

Other Thoughts: This keeps my cpu idling in the 16-18 degrees Celsius range, and helps keep my temps in check when gaming. This is a very big worry for me as im running an unlocked and overclocked AMD FX 8350 with all cores enabled. I was forced to use the stock cooler after my seidon 240m cooler failed me. thanks to usps, I was hard forced into buying a new cooler and chose this(fortunately I will be recouping some of the loss as I had put shipping insurance on the package when I originally shipped it to cooler master for the rma, which USPS handily lost before receipt by cooler master), and its doing the job well. Rig is as follows
AMD FX 8350
Gigabyte 990fxa-ud3 rev 1.1
G Skill DDR3-1866 16gb ram
Gigabyte Radeon R9-290x
Cooler Master Haf 922
Cooler Master Silent Pro M850
Crucial m4 64gb ssd(soon to be a Samsung evo 850 250gb)
Seagate Barracuda 2tb hd
LG Super Bluray drive
Asus DVD RW
Aerocool F6XT fan controller
NZXT Aperture multicard reader
Asus 24" 1080p
AOC 22" 1080p
Microsoft Reclusa
Razer Lachesis 4000dpi
Razer Vespula

3 out of 5 eggsHigh pump fail rate

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Cheap, works great (when it's actually working), quiet.

Cons: Software to manage fan speed is beyond terrible, don't even bother to install.
Pump failed after 3 months, I've learned this is fairly common.

Other Thoughts: Time to RMA my unit, hopefully the next one will last longer.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: - Fans are quiet when running in silent mode
- Does an excellent job keeping the CPU cool
- Nice configurable LED Corsair logo

Cons: - The fan link cable are a tad short. Makes it difficult to tuck away the cables for proper cable management.

Other Thoughts: I have this installed in Corsair 250 mITX case. It's a tight fit but it fits perfectly once you have it in place.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad.

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Closed loop intro to water cooling with everything you need.
Bought it for my i5-2500k

At the time it didn't say but it does work with 4790k.

Love the fact I can set the LED on the CPU cooler to change color depending on temp. This was the reason for me to get this cooler.

My color temps are set at 40/60/80
Usually while gaming I am under 60 or 62. Every now and then it likes to hit 65 but that is rare even after 12+ hours of gaming or gaming and streaming.

Cons: Software sucks.

I have 4 corsair fans that I should be able to control with the app however I can't, only the two fans that came with it.

I have seen a few complaints about idle temps for the stock thermal paste running PC at ~40C+. Not really to bad considering what they where back in the day. But its a little discouraging hearing about all these people getting low 30C idle temps with the same CPU or CPUs that normally run warmer.

I have tired air directions every which way on the radiator with no change in CPU temps at all. My last configuration is what I left it at due just kinda being a tight working space with a 500R case.
I am running the two fans inside the case blowing out as any typical top fan would do, as well as the two on the outside of the case are blowing up. Thankfully I have a fan controller that I just plugged the inside fans to and max out

Other Thoughts: All and all it does keep my CPU cool. Software issues with their fans is a joke for sure, but the cooler does make up for that.

It's been about a year since I first got this cooler. I think around that time I will be doing some maintenance and applying my own thermal paste to see if that brings my idle temps down even more.

Also I wanted to state I have not OC'd my 4790k AT ALL. I am running stock and just recently within the last month unparked all my cores. That did not change Idle temps or load temps at all.

4 out of 5 eggsTrade offs

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: It cools very well

Cons: Noisy

Other Thoughts: Termaltake Over Seer RX-I Was a little bit of a pain to get mounted, the screws were about a millimeter to short to mount it the way i wanted it too in this case.

4 out of 5 eggsKirby Vacuum Cleaner for fans

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Easy Installation, dropped CPU temps 6c versus Cooler Master 212 EVO that was installed.

Cons: Stock fans sound like a Kirby Vacuum Cleaner has been installed in the case

Other Thoughts: Be prepared to replace the loud stock fans that come with this Cooler. I replaced them with 2 each Corsair Air Series AF120 CO-9050015-RLED 120mm Red LED Quiet Edition High Airflow Fan. Made a huge difference in the fan noise emission.
