3 out of 5 eggsStill problems with Link SQ

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Sound design, good sealing - fans quiet - keeps temps exceptionally under control.

Cons: Corsair Link software still broken badly. Was hoping two years later that it would be better. Installed into my case, working fine, quiet fan speed. Then saw where pump and fans were listing a firmware upgrade from 1.05 to 1.07. So I let it do it's thing. One listed as successful, one listed as failed. After that, fans and pump no longer showed up in the Link software, therefore no more control of fan speeds or temperature listing. Ticket placed with Corsair, they advised to delete a hidden directory and reinstall with older link software. This also was unsuccessful. Let with fan speeds stuck on high (loud) and fans and pump no longer showing up in link software. Basically, I have to RMA it all back to Corsair at my expense.

Other Thoughts: One other BEWARE. If you do need to RMA it back to Corsair, they only have REFURBISHED units to give you. Mine was brand new from NEWEGG. Refurbs COULD be older model with different hoses and pump. Therefore, warning - if you are still determined to buy one of these, DO NOT FLASH FIRMWARE. I wonder why it is taking so long to get this Corsair Link software working as it should. Very frustrating to have to go through all of this.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Mounted to my fx-8320 with ease. Did a custom low profile top mount install on my thermaltake overseer which looks great and leaves plenty of room between the fans and the mobo. While idling my CPU temp was >30c. Ran prime 95 and it was running pretty cool at 46c which is great considering 125watt tdp of the CPU. managed to overclock the 8320 to 4.3ghz and ran prime again with the temps around 50c.

Cons: None

just make sure it fits in your case.

Cons: none i can think of at the moment

5 out of 5 eggsCool-Quiet

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: -Cheap
-Performing very well
-quiet mode ftw
-Amd and Intel ready

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: As long as you have enought space in your case, It's mounted in my 600T but I had to mount the fans in the top compartement because my motherboard has a heatsync at the middle top of it, keeps my intel cpu at under 40 C in quiet mode

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Well built, excellent design, didn't feel like I was going to break anything, easy installation, good stock thermal paste. Generally perfect in every way. Keeps CPU (Intel 5930K) icy. <30 centigrade on idle and <60 centigrade under decent loads.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Upgraded from a CoolIT ECO ALC, one of the first closed-loop Liquid Cooling Systems like this.

Installed in 2x2 push/pull configuration with some NZXT stock fans in my case. Pushes air like a madman and keeps this sucker very very cool.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't bother with this garbage

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: I looks nice.

Cons: - Horrible temps

- First one was DOA

- Terrible Corsair LINK software is terrible. It can't even update itself properly

- Terrible customer service

- Why would you make software that barely runs control the cooling on the most important part of my machine.
- Price is high, for the price of the H100i I was expecting better cooling than my previous H80 cooler. Not only was cooling worse, but the noise went up and I had many more problems than the one that had no software.

- For the price of this you could build most of a custom CPU cooling water loop with entry level water cooling parts.

Other Thoughts: I've been buying corsair pretty much as long as I've been building PCs, which is over 10 years now. Up until this point I've had no issues with them, but this build not only was my Corsair Vengeance RAM bad, but my case fans went out, and my H100i pump went out after only a week of use.

After my pump went out I sent it out for replacement via Corsair's RMA process and it took over two weeks to get a new one back. I didn't have another cooler to use in the mean time so I was stuck with the stock Intel cooler for that time.

Now that I've gotten the new one back and running. I've tried runing Prime95 benchmarks on it. During that time my CPU temps go from 40c up to 90c and the corsair cooler doesn't even ramp up fans. I haven't been able to even run Prime95 for more than a minute.

I've tried reseating the cpu, reapplied the thermal paste. I even tested temps with CoreTemp and HWMonitor just to make sure I wasn't crazy. Corsair's software shows around 30c idle when everyone else shows 90c. I don't know what is wrong with their software but I"m not willing to let it fry my CPU.

It's pretty clear to me that the quality of Corsair has gone down while the price continues to go up. So they've lost me as a customer. I won't be buying any Corsair any longer.

I would like my money back, but Corsair doesn't stand behind their terrible products enough to even offer money back. And I'm outside of the return policy on Newegg becuase they took so long to replace my first one. I guess I'm out $100 for nothing.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat cooler for the price

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: This cooler is compact, fairly easy to install. And very good at what it does for the price.

The corsair link software is pretty cool.

Cons: Unfortunately, If you have a small case, you don't have very many mounting options. Other that, for the price you cant beat it.

Other Thoughts: I am glad company's are making small/cheap high performance closed loop water kits. compared to the 400$ i spent building my own

4 out of 5 eggsMake Sure it Fits

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Keeps CPU cool and is relatively quiet.

Cons: Tried to install in a full tower Zalman GS1000 case with Asus X99 Deluxe motherboard and cooler does not fit. Due to the dual fan configuration have to install at top of case, but there is not sufficient width for both the fans and radiator above the power connector and shrouds on the motherboard. Ended up mounting fans on outside of case with case housing removed to make it work. Louder fan noise than I would like with the fans on the outside of the case. Also the radiator mounting holes to did quite match up with the holes in the case, so had to leave out a few screws. In fairness, some of the problem with the fit is the Asus motherboard shrouds which project from the face of the motherboard. But, if your going for looks and have a similar motherboard/case combination, this is probably not the cooler for you.

Other Thoughts: Took a few minutes to figure out that the fan extension cables have pin covers over the male connection. At first glance it appears they configured with female/female connectors.

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed Customer

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Shipped within 3 days.
Nice packaging.
Slick looking.

Cons: It did NOT ship with the two square screws required to attach it to my AMD+ CPU Socket on the mother board. SO I CAN'T DO ANYTHING NOW.

This is super annoying because I was ready to build this tonight.

Will update once I hear response from Newegg. But right now, I have nothing to work with...

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: None

Cons: 1) When mounting the provided fans with the provided screws, the screws dig into the radiator. Luckily no leakage.
2) The provided screws are too long, I had to add 5 washers per screw just to get the fans to fit.
3) The Corsair Link software doesn't work. Can't control the fans. After a year of waiting, Corsair is still trying to produce a piece of software that works (see the Corsair forums). The fans are stuck at high speed all the time.

Other Thoughts: Running Adobe After Effects pushes my i7-3930K 3.2GHz and this cooler can't keep it below 72C. And yes, I have replaced the thermal paste but no joy.
