5 out of 5 eggsGreat cooler!

This review is from: Corsair Hydro Series™ H100i GTX Extreme Performance Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Fits perfectly in my Thor v2 Black Case. Changed my CPU operating temperature from high 90's Celsius (I know, way too high) to a maximum under full load of between 38 C and 40 C. If you are having choppy frame rates it may be due to heat like mine was. I have the i5 2500k and it works great on everything now. Max graphics on a totally modded Skyrim (200+ mods) 60fps constant and Bf4 max graphics 60+fps. Great purchase! I just had to remove the top panel while installing the radiator and then it was in!

Cons: Instructions are lacking in detail, watch a youtube video.
I had to not use the washers for the screws that attached the radiator to the top of the case, so an improvement would be to make the screws longer.

1 out of 5 eggsCools Well, but noisy

This review is from: Corsair Hydro Series™ H100i GTX Extreme Performance Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Works as advertised and keeps the CPU cool.
Easier installation than the Corsair 110. On this model, you install the fans to the radiator then mount the radiator instead of trying to do both with one long screw.

Cons: The fans are NOISY. I took a reading with the fan speed at 100% and they reached an alarming 61.4 decibels. This is nearly DOUBLE what they advertised. And this isn't the soft whirring noise of a fan that you would expect. This is a soul wrenching grinding sound that could wake the dead.

Other Thoughts: Like others here, if you purchase this product, please take head and purchase a set of fans. Being able to hear the grinding noise of a fan through a door and down the hall in the bedroom is not acceptable in my opinion. I really wish I could upload a recording of it to fully capture what I mean.

Also the Corsair Link Software is pretty atrocious.

I would recommend the Corsair 110 despite the installation difficulties on that one. Or buy new fans to install with this.

5 out of 5 eggsKeeps CPU cool

This review is from: Corsair Hydro Series™ H100i GTX Extreme Performance Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Easy install. Good quality radiator, fan and block. Corsair Links imo is cool enough for what it does.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I own a few of these as well as other water cooling products. Once you install one of these you will realize that gone are the days of heat sinks and heat sink fans. These products run quietly and keep your CPU cool under load. What else could you want.

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Corsair Hydro Series™ H100i GTX Extreme Performance Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Looks great and works great. Some people say theirs is loud, but mine isn't noticeably louder than anything else. The LED Corsair logo is cool, and the things you can do with Corsair Link is cool too, but......

Cons: - ..... Corsair Link isn't available for Linux! I should have looked into this before buying, so it's really my fault, but I'd still buy it anyway.
- One of the screw holes was poorly threaded, no big deal though. Still works once you force a screw threw it.
- Some of the fins were bent. There was no damage to the box, so I believe it was done pre-boxing or was owned and returned before I got it. This is the only reason I'm deducting a star.

Other Thoughts: This isn't really a con, as most people probably realize this before buying, but it doesn't fit well in my case (Corsair Obsidian 350D). It extends into the top CD drive slot, meaning you can only have one drive (idk, maybe there are super short drives available). Also, depending on which side you install the hoses on, they either block off the other drive slot or press against the rear exhaust fan (just find a way to space them off though). Other than those things, it fits fine.

This is a great cooler and I'd recommend it to anyone. It's quiet, cools well, install is easy, and looks great - what more can you ask for? Wait for a sale and a rebate, though. At the time of writing, it's $79.99 so I'm kind of bummed I didn't wait.

4 out of 5 eggsGood product

This review is from: Corsair Hydro Series™ H100i GTX Extreme Performance Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Works great and looks great. My temps were already fine, but I wanted to see what all the fuss was about - and I'm glad I tried it out.

Cons: - Arrived with some bent fins. No damage to any packaging tells me this was done before boxing. It's not a big deal, but this is the only reason I removed a star.
- One of the screw holes was badly threaded. Again, not a big deal.

Other Thoughts: Didn't fit extremely well in my case. I have the Corsair Obsidian 350D. The cooler extends slightly into the CD drive bay. Also, if the hoses are installed on the fan side, they press against the fan. If they are installed on the CD drive side, they limit you from using the lower CD drive bay as well. I installed with hoses touching fan and spaced them off the fan so that I could still use one CD drive (which is all I need).

2 out of 5 eggsGreat cooling, but AWFUL software

This review is from: Corsair Hydro Series™ H100i GTX Extreme Performance Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Fairly easy to install.
Seems to cool really well, temps are pretty solid.

Cons: The Corsair LINK is the WORST software
Often doesn't seem to know how to check my temperatures after rebooting, so it just puts the fans to 100%.
Has to open every time on start, just terrible to use, look at it.

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend this product, just because of the software that you have to use with it. Plan on buying another air cooler to replace this pretty soon.

Pros: -Easy Installation
-Looks awesome

4 out of 5 eggsHot and loud, but it doesn't have to be

This review is from: Corsair Hydro Series™ H100i GTX Extreme Performance Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: If you're lucky enough to get it in working order, it cools very effectively.
The SP120L fans included do some heavy lifting.
The RGB lighting on the block is a nice touch.

Cons: The backplate has an apparently very known issue of not being tight enough to motherboards to create good contact with the CPU heat spreader. Corsair will say that it's normal, but the temperatures don't lie. If you buy this cooler and your temperatures are too high, get some rubber or nylon washers and put them on the backplate.

The stock fans are very loud. Effective at moving air, but loud.

Other Thoughts: I have an Asus P8Z68-V pro/gen3 motherboard and I had issues with the block not making contact. I suggest researching your board to see if other people have the issue before purchasing this cooler, or just going to the hardware store and putting $2 towards some washers just in case.

Getting some quieter SP120 fans might be a good idea if you are willing to sacrifice a few degrees for less noise.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat product, enhance the appearance of my build

This review is from: Corsair Hydro Series™ H100i GTX Extreme Performance Water / Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Radiator looks great in black
great performance from it. Temperature stays around 30 c
It's doing the job
Intel i7 6700k stay calm no problem
I have not download the link yet, I don't see the reason why should I. When I can control the fans from bios or software.
Looks great once installed

Cons: Noise!! This thing comes with some cr*ppy fans
Can't make fan noise to go out
Fans stay at a high speed even after fixing them in bios
Fans are horrible!!

Other Thoughts: Here is my only problem with this cooler. For $130 I expected better fans, with this I am not saying this system should have come with top of line fans but, at lest with a pair of decent fans. My newly built sits about a fit away from me. Of course I want to see my GTX 980 TI all the other components but, this fan noise is atrocious. This thing blades sound like if they are beating the hood ganstas. Of course I'll replace them with better quality one. Come'on Corsair, at least add some AF in there!!
