2 out of 5 eggsFailed after 6 months use

This review is from: Corsair Hydro Series™ H110i GTX 280mm Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

Pros: -Fits well in Corsair 450D case
-Looks nice
-Corsair 1-800 Call Support is not outsourced (refreshing) (2 eggs just for this reason)

Cons: -Failed after exactly 6 months of use on an i7-5820k at stock speeds

-Sudden pump failure nearly fried my CPU, fortunately the Intel thermal safeguards kicked in and saved me.

-Ran at 30C idle and 50C during gaming (CS:GO) when it did work, which, come to find out is actually horrible for this cooler. I think this was a sign of a poor quality pump, since the newly installed RMA replacement runs around 20C-22C at idle and 30C-35C under the same load.

-When your CPU cooler fails, it's extremely inconvenient because it essentially renders your PC useless. That's why I opted to do an Express RMA with Corsair, in which you pre-pay for a new CPU cooler up front (at over retail mind you) and then the charge is removed when they receive the old one. The problem I had is that they couldn't complete an Express RMA for me until my RMA ticket was approved, and my ticket sat in a pending status for 2 days. When I called a second time to expedite this process since it was now Friday, and their customer support closes for the weekend and actually EARLY on Friday as well, they still said that despite trying to "force it through", they still couldn't do it, which meant I would have to wait until Monday to start the Express RMA process. To add insult to injury, my RMA ticket was approved at 5pm Friday, but customer support closes at 3pm, and calling is the ONLY way to do an Express RMA. Very frustrating, because this means more downtime, and in my eyes, unnecessarily so considering I was willing to pay over retail for a new unit to be expedited to me.

-Again, to add insult to injury, I was required to pay for shipping for the defective unit back to Corsair. 6 months of use out of a CPU cooler I paid $139.99 for, and I have to pay for return shipping? That's extremely poor form. With my reviews, I try to be fair to all parties, and assess the situation from both sides. I would have overlooked a lot of the RMA issues considering the people I spoke to on the phone were very polite and courteous (something I hold in high regard), and chalked it up to a busy schedule for them. However, to find out after the fact that I also need to pay to return the defective item back to Corsair tilted me the opposite direction. It was $12, not life altering in any way, shape or form, but it's not about the money, it's the principle of the matter. I'm already inconvenienced with a defective unit, I'm inconvenienced again by being delayed an extra 2 days because of their processing formalities, and I'm inconvenienced having to tear apart my system replacing an item that I didn't think I would ever have to remove, and then my cost of ownership for said item goes up because I get taxed another $12 to send the broken thing back? That's the straw that broke this camels back, and really left me with a sour taste in my mouth about the entire experience.

Other Thoughts: In hindsight I'm glad it failed, because otherwise I would have unknowingly had to live with a sub-par CPU cooler that I paid a premium price for. Of course I'd rather just have the product that I purchased work out of the box as advertised the first time, but I think that's asking a bit much these days. Besides, a company couldn't guarantee a 0% failure rate, just like they couldn't stop the weather from raining, but what they COULD do is at least hold an umbrella over your head if it does rain. Corsair failed to do that in my eyes. Maybe on the next one...

4 out of 5 eggsEasy Setup/ Worth the extra Money!

This review is from: Corsair Hydro Series™ H110i GTX 280mm Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

Pros: -Easy to install, this was my first DIY PC.
-Works great.
-Corsair Link is easy to use.
-You can change the LED color if you're into that.
-Thermal paste comes pre applied(other reviewers state just to leave it on, seems to work the best)

Cons: -None
-Others suggest swapping out the stock fans for noise concerns. I don't notice the noise. Using thermaltake suppressor F31.

Other Thoughts: - Would recommend to all, was going to buy the EVO but decided on liquid cooling instead.
-First time building my own PC and I had no trouble whatsoever.
-Worth the extra money if you will be turning to a liquid cooling solution later on.

Using on an Skylake I-5 6600K

4 out of 5 eggsGreat cooler vary clean look.

This review is from: Corsair Hydro Series™ H110i GTX 280mm Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

Pros: Keeps my AMD FX 8350 vary cool tubing looks nice and the Corsair logo looks great. I also like the link software it allows me to keep tabs on all of my temps.

Cons: Installation manual sucks I took one look at it and threw it away for someone that didn't know how to install one of these this manual would not help them at all.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this to my friends as this is how I ended up getting this in the first place.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

This review is from: Corsair Hydro Series™ H110i GTX 280mm Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

Pros: - Keeps my 5820k temps at bay (overclocked to 4.2ghz)... never goes above roughly 55c even at 100% utilization during video rendering.
- Easy to install and use. No complex setup needed.

Cons: - This thing is HUGE; I cannot overstate this.
- Make sure it will fit in your case before buying.
- Stock fans are garbage and loud... i mounted two 140mm Cougar fans instead that are much quieter.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Cooler

This review is from: Corsair Hydro Series™ H110i GTX 280mm Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

Pros: Very quite, works great with an AMD 9590, the Corsair Link interface is pretty cool when also paired with the HX1000i.

Cons: None so far!

Other Thoughts: Cool LED color changer for the Corsair light. First liquid cooler I have used. Super easy install and setup. I would buy again easily.

4 out of 5 eggsNice all in one cooler

This review is from: Corsair Hydro Series™ H110i GTX 280mm Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

Pros: Looks great, somewhat easy to install and quiet. Adjustable lighting is a nice feature. A bit pricy in cdn$ compared to us$.

Cons: Hardware not really clearly labeled for your cpu type. It says stainless for Intel yet everything was the same colour hardware. But easy enough to figure out. The standoffs that mount to the motherboard will be loose once tightened, this is NORMAL.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet (for a dual fan radiator)! Keeps my CPU ~40 C under full load!

This review is from: Corsair Hydro Series™ H110i GTX 280mm Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

Pros: For a dual fan radiator, this unit is quite noiseless. I can not hear the pump at all and the fans, well they sound like fans. It doesn't sound like a jet trying to take off from my office, it sounds like 2 fans!

Cons: The USB is in an awkward place! Corsair, if you actually read these, move the USB port somewhere else! How awkward is it to have the USB head shoved right up against the I/O panel on an ATX-E motherboard!?! Nothing worth losing an egg over or saying I wouldn't recommend this product to others, but definitely an annoyance and bad design.

Other Thoughts: This is a great closed loop cooling system. The radiators are large and deep enough to provide a good heat transfer rate, yet they're small enough to still fit inside your case. Excellent function design! Poor ergonomic design with the USB port! Nowhere near enough to remove an egg though as it does what I bought it to do: cool my CPU! And it does its job well!

2 out of 5 eggsThis beast is loud. LOUD.

This review is from: Corsair Hydro Series™ H110i GTX 280mm Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

Pros: The cooling performance is great is really does push good temps and looks very very good in any case very sleek well finshed look.

Cons: EXTREMELY LOUD. For the price we pay for units like this these fans are outrageous. this thing sounds like a turbine under my desk. while idle its perfect. but anytime i play any games like battlefield4 or diablo3 after about 15 mins of gameplay it sound like a car reving its engine over and over up-down-up-down-up-down for the rest of my gameplay time... during all of this temps are ok as well... Ive tried everything all the different settings in corsair link and even made custom fan profiles which helped but it still does this and whn it does it is loud. like insanely loud... i can hear my pc over my games even with a headset on.

Other Thoughts: tried to make contact with corsair and seemed to hit walls so if i dont figure something out soon im just going to replace it with another company and take this old unit out back and shoot it for youtube!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat plug and play liquid cooler

This review is from: Corsair Hydro Series™ H110i GTX 280mm Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

Pros: This is a good liquid cooler for those who don't want to mess with building their own. I like the clean look. It is easy to install and get going.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This thing is big. Make sure you have a case that will fit this unit. I went the safe route and bought the Obsidian 350D case. I went to their decoder ring page and looked at all the case that they specified would fit.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Product

This review is from: Corsair Hydro Series™ H110i GTX 280mm Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

Pros: Easy to install AIO
Fans are quiet
Lowered CPU temps (by a small amount; but still) after using a Hyper 212

Cons: I could see the tubing being a bit short for larger cases. I have a Fractal Design Define S case and it fits well at the top and at the front of the case, however it is 'stretched' (as far as I would like it to go without causing issues) so a larger case could run into issues as to wear you are able to mount the radiator.

Other Thoughts: For first time computer builders wishing to have water cooling, I would recommend this product but if you are wanting to use this as an in-between from air cooling to water cooling then just go straight to the custom water cooling (as I will be doing). The H110i GTX is an exceptional product but it doesn't offer the same satisfaction to installing a custom water cooling loop. It basically has the same satisfaction as mounting an air cooled CPU heatsink.
