5 out of 5 eggsVery good for Socket A

Pros: Replaced the AMD fan/heatsink with this, dropped the temps on my Athlon XP 3200+ by 20C under load, 25 at idle. One of the few good fan/heatsinks that would fit on my Socket A m/b since it doesn't have any mounting holes. Really easy install for Socket A boards.

Cons: Instructions don't mention the protective coating, but its something you should always check anyway.

Other Thoughts: The LED in this is very bright. I keep my computer on 24/7 and with the window in my case it lights up the entire room.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well, looks nice

Pros: I'm going to miss seeing this in my all UV modded case (I just upgraded and can't use it anymore). It's worked quite well to cool my Prescott 3.2 while I overclocked to 3.6 (which is listed as the max for that CPU, I just don't think mine would go any faster, even with better cooling). I also ran two fans, both pointing up. Installation was not that difficult, other than having to pull out the motherboard completely. I would definitely buy it again.

Cons: When I got it I expected the lights to be darker blue, but this is a pretty light blue. No biggie, just not quite what I expected. Still looks great.

3 out of 5 eggsWatch your steps... This one hurts.

Pros: All copper, not as fat as my wife's Zalman 9500 LCD. I had to give it to her since the Zalman was too big. Sad for me since I wanted it but this one is all copper and lighter + more compact. I figured this was all well and good until...

Cons: Although it can fit Socket 939, the instructions mention K8 (Socket 754). That set me off that I thought I made a mistake. I had to use my 165lbs of body weight to get this thing to screw into my mobo and although I'm 200% sure it's secure [since I had to almost crush the ****ing retention clip], It's not worth the frustration so -2 eggs on that one. Shame on you Aerocool for making such a pain in the rear to install Retention clip. Socket 939 be worried, it'll fit... Just not easily like Zalman.

Other Thoughts: It's light, compact, all copper, and I KNOW it's doing it's job since it's VERY hot right now. I know that Arctic Silver 5 takes a while to set in but I used their cleaning system to buff out my DFI Infinity SLi chipset and my Opoteron cpu core. After the thermal grease sets in, I'm hoping it'll cool better. I'm idling 40C on my chipset / system and 50C on the processor. Wayy too hot from before but at least it's near pure Arctic Silver now... ^_^ Will cool in the future I'm sure.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter Cooling than Expected

Pros: Idle temps hover around 30C. Load has yet to get above 37C. Often times my system temp is higher than my CPU.

Cons: None to report. The install will take time and work, but the directions were spot on.

Other Thoughts: I am running a Asus P4P800E with a 2.6 Prescott. Under load my temps rarely get over 35C. I overclocked to 3.1 Gig and never went over 40C. This cooler works much better than expected. I did use two fans both pointing upward in my case toward a blow hole port. Ejects CPU air right out.

4 out of 5 eggs

Comments: I was running this on an XP 3200+ and overclocked it to 2.6GHz and there was no heat on the heatsink with 2 fans on it, the only problem i had was that it was a pain to install the clip just wouldn't go on, i was afriad of breaking my motherboard but it eventually got on, and then when i would take it off it broke some plastic off the socket that holds the heatsink down, otherwise it was a nice heatsink.

Comments: I bought one of these and had a computer savvy friend install it for me. He said it was a *#%$ to install, but like many of these monsters - patience pays off. It's a little loud, but I'm running a total of 5 fans so what can you expect? After 2 thermal blowouts, this unit is just what the doctor ordered.

AS Rock K8Upgrade mobo
AMD 2800 Barton
1GB Corsair dual channel
ATI 9600XT

Not the newest system on the block, but this things screams over my old system. Just get it! Newegg is off the heazy!

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet, very nice.

Comments: I didn't bother running the stock P4 prescott heatsink/fan combo for comparison, but I do have this installed with Arctic Silver 5. Both my load and my idle temps hover between 48 and 52 on a 3.0e P4 Prescott. MOBO temp stays at 34 C. I could honestly get the temp down lower, my case comes with a BIG 120mm fan in the front but it makes too much noise for a DAW used primarily for sound recording. I use an Asus p4p800e Deluxe mobo and am using ASUS's probe app for temps.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat HSF

Comments: I was looking at this HSF and a Thermaltake Spark7+, and I bought this one. It just looks cooler. And, from what I can see, it cools better. I haven't run it with just the stock AeroCool LED fan on it. I use that to exhaust air my Tt SmartFan II (75CFM) pumps through the heatsink. I turned down my overclocking to get a reading of what it'd be for the average Joe. My CPU temp idle is 34C and Prime95 tops it out at 47. Whooptie doo. Not very hot. Yay. I like it. And it's pretty:)

Comments: I must say this thing is awsome. the bad part was to take the mobo out....but the best part is now I have a idle temp of 34C and full load of 52C with a 3.0E GHZ OCed to 3.3GHZ. My last cooler didn't do really much but with this I'm Happy with dual fan. A must buy product!!
