5 out of 5 eggsThe Perfect Heatsink

Pros: - Keeps Pentium D 805, overclocked to 3.8G, under 40c.
- The architecture. It is bending downward so airflow + 120mm fans = cool as anything!
- Pure unadulterated copper

Cons: - nothing, maybe a little loud at start up, but thats miniscule.

Other Thoughts: Dont waste your time looking for other CPU fans. If you have a dual core processor, then this is the BEST for the money. This even out performed my Zalman (the popular finned model). oh yeah

5 out of 5 eggsGreat investment

Pros: Compact, cools great for its size. Dropped my ridiculous 60oC idle (!!!) Athlon 3000+XP down to 45, on the slowest fan setting. Includes a fan controller which will vary the fan speed, for optimum noise/cooling benefit. The fan controller can be installed into an empty PCI slot.

Cons: As others have mentioned, can be a difficult installation. I hardheadedly refused to remove the mobo for this, but I did have to take out my PSU as it was very close to the installation site. On a Socket A (Athlon), can only be installed in 1 of 2 orientations. Because of my PSU, could only be installed in 1 orientation, which is the one NOT recommended by Scythe. Still works great though.

Other Thoughts: Includes a ridiculous amount of hardware for mounting on different CPU types. I think the socket A is probably the easiest, with just a latch bar that runs across the bottom portion.

4 out of 5 eggsAlmost awesome

Pros: Its gorgeous looking.Didn't think I'd say that about a heatsink. Its pretty big, alot bigger than I expected. It runs pretty quiet.I like the fan control knob. It only dropped temp 4-5 degrees over stock heatsink on my P4 2ghz 478 socket no OCd.

Cons: A real clumsy install. What is up w/having to use that little wrench? Even with the mobo out of the box it was a pain to install. The other thing is over tighten screws n u damage ur cpu, too loose n u wont have good contact n ur cpu will fry.

Other Thoughts: Instructions not bad, could be a little better. Main thing is they need to fix how the sink is installed. The other thing is that the cable that connects fan speed knob to sink is too short. It only stretches as far as my 4th PCI slot. It would help if it went down to the 5th opening.

1 out of 5 eggsForget it

Pros: Good cooler

Cons: The biggest con is with the 775 cpu adapter is that it has adhesive on one side of the plate. This adapter destroyed my motherboard when I removed it. I carefully heated the adapter with a hair dryer but as I slowly seperated the adapter from the motherboard it also lifter the traces on the motherboard, rendering my month old motherboard useless

Other Thoughts: Any cpu cooler installation that puts your motherboard in harms way is not the way to go, no matter how well it cools

5 out of 5 eggsGood Kooler

Pros: Lowered my overclocked Intel Duo E6600 from 42-47 deg celius (Stock Intel Flower Cooler) to 27-32 deg celius. Fan has nice speed control knob and I run it set to 2000rpm which is inaudible. You can run it to around 2700 and barely hear it. Very Good Cooler for the money

Cons: What a Bitc? to install. Don't like the bottom m/b adapter because it has adhesive which sticks to the bottom of you m/b. This a a fit all kit and it shows with some of the adapter parts. I wouldn't bother with this one unless you have a motherboard tray because the m/b does have to come out.

Other Thoughts: The instructions are very bad and almost no help at all. The hold down rails have steps on one side and if you try to install the fan this way it doesn't touch the CPU by .001" and you will fry your CPU> I was lucky because of my skill level and saw the problem. If your a newbie forget this one.

5 out of 5 eggsGood deal

Pros: Good cooler, keeps my e6400 at 30 idle and 48 load (and the artic silver hasn't set in yet!) with the fan on medium. It's still fairly quite on the high setting.

Cons: Mounting instructinos are pretty clear but it's still complicated. Much easier to install if you are building a computer rather than upgrading.

Other Thoughts: I had no clearance issues with my DFI 975 board.

5 out of 5 eggs2nd review, still pleased

Pros: Super cooling! I love how it will fit so many different MB's and CPU's! Fan speed control is a plus!

Cons: instructions are cryptic, but at least they include pics.

Other Thoughts: I just swapped it to a different MB and CPU for testing. This time a socket 754 from my old socket A....I was pleased with how easy it was to install on the 754 even tho I had to use the back plate for the first time...It all went together fast and easy...My Athlon 64 3400 is running at 36C even with the fan on slow speed. If you are looking for a great cooler that will fit many different MB's and CPU's and are tired of coolers that don't live up to their claims, then buy this one!

5 out of 5 eggsWow!....Works really well

Pros: A one-size-fits-all solution!..You will find it hard to toss this in the 'obsolete parts bin' cause it fits over 30 CPU's from both Intel and AMD..You can upgrade forever and it will still most likely fit. Comes with all possible hardware you will need to install on any of 30 different CPU's. Cools very, very well at low noise levels. PCI slot fan speed adjustment pot is a real plus!

Cons: Instructions suck, but if you ever installed a heatsink, you can follow the pics and figure it out. Test fit as soon as you get it to make sure it will clear cause the angled profile might cause it to interfere with nearby components.

Other Thoughts: When test fitting it, don't forget that you can easily reverse the fan air flow direction by flipping the fan over. The spring clips make this really easy. I had to flip my fan cause it was fighting against by PSU bottom fan. I did not buy this from Newegg only cause I found it somewhere else before I searched Newegg....My bad

5 out of 5 eggs2.2GHZ OC to 2.618 GHZ Under 45C at full Load

Pros: Just built a new computer and the stock heatsink broke so I got this one because it is copper. Boy am I impressed. I never OCd but I decided to push my ne AMD 3500+ manchaster (with one disabled core) to 2.6. Rock solid with this cooler

Cons: Painfull install if you are not buying it with a new motherboard because you have to remove the motherboard.

Other Thoughts: unbeatable with arctic silver 5 for casual OC for this price!
