Awesome!
- Pros: Used it on my AM2 CPU for 5 months and it worked great. Just bought a Q6600 and it cut 25 degrees celsius off the stock cooler! Being able to use this heatsink on AMD or Intel is awesome.
- Cons: Fins are a little sharp, but no big deal. I kind of like staring at the little cuts on my knuckles the day after wrestling it into place. :)
- Other Thoughts: I applied Arctic Silver 5 according to the instructions perfectly (one thin line on the cpu) and my Q6600 cant break 50 celsius with prime95 small FFTs on all cores. Sweet.
Best mid HSF out there
- Pros: - Cools really well! There is a face-off article on hexus that puts the Mine up there with the big boys!
- It's easy to install using intel's push pins - Not as wide as other HSFs - Fits most MOBOs - Very Silent
- Cons: - Apparently it doesn't fit some small GA boards (DS3R)
- It is still big, case clearance must be checked. - "Manual" is poor
- Other Thoughts: Q6600 G0, Abit IP35 Pro, Mushkin 2x2gb, Corsair 620HX, CM690, MSI 8600GTS
My Q6600 OCed to 3ghz is running 30C idle and 51 under load! Using AC5 thermal compound (not the one included).
Quiet and efficient
- Pros: Mounted on my Gigabyte P35 DS4P motherboard and Intel Core Duo E6850 without any fuss. Not overly large, runs very quiet. Quiet was most important for me. Processor running at about 39C.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: I did a LOT of research before choosing this CPU cooler. It was not rated the absolute quietest or lowest temperature cooler, but it seemed to be very good in both categories without being the height of a skyscraper. I am extremely pleased.
