5 out of 5 eggsGreat Fan

Pros: Quiet fan, inexpensive, great airflow and cooling.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Just over a year ago, I built a PC, and I decided that I wanted to try to make it a silent one. I bought an Antec 300 case and put in fans from several manufacturers including Silen-x and the Red Sc*rpion. The other ones were a tad noisy so I did a 7-volt and 5-volt mod, but the Scythe that I bought to cool my HDD was silent as advertised, so I bought a second one for an exhaust fan. On a side note, the fan I put on my hard drive dropped the temp by 10 degrees C. This fan is especially good if you're looking to keep your hard drive cool and prolong its life.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Scythe Fan, Not sure about PWM

Pros: Quiet and affordable Sleeve-bearing fan

I run the fan at 900rpm according to ASUS AI Suite, but it also says the max is 1250rpm so Im not sure how accurate it is.

Would be great if this came with a fan controller

Cons: I use my ASUS's fan control utility, sometimes it doesn't start the fan up. You can see it twitching, not getting enough voltage to start. Not sure if Im supposed to use the mobo header or a regular molex with the fan.

Other Thoughts: I use this as my sole exhaust fan in my Antec P182
My Scythe Mugen 2 cools my Phenom II 720BE @ 3.4ghz at 34c idle and 45c load.

5 out of 5 eggsNinja stealth fan?!

Pros: I didn't even know this thing was running until I opened up the case and physically saw the blades turning. That's how quiet it is at its lowest speed. Even when it picks up due to system load it still isn't very loud at all.

Cons: Not really the highest airflow for its size... I bought another Scythe fan at the same time, and it has a much better blade design that pushes more air.

Other Thoughts: There are quieter fans, and there are cheaper fans, but this fan works, and it plugged into the additional 4-pin PWM fan port that my motherboard happened to have, in addition to the CPU fan port.

5 out of 5 eggsGood fan

Pros: Good airflow from this fan. The noise doesn't bother me at all compared to my old e-machine's; there is a little but what fan doesn't produce noise? It's very tolerable and I can hardly tell that I have three case fans hooked up.

Cons: You have to pre-screw the screws into the little holes before installation. That was the most annoying part about it. Make sure to point the sticker towards the back of the case if you want airflow outbound. My girlfriend argued that facing it with the sticker being visible was the right way, but in fact a visible sticker means air blowing into the case, which greatly conflicted with my tower's airflow. Just something to keep in mind since there aren't really any directions with this (and why should there be?).

Other Thoughts: Considering buying a second one to put in front of my HDD bays. Then we'll see whose computer idles at 38C

2 out of 5 eggsA little weak...

Pros: Quiet, free shipping...

Cons: These fans do not operate at the advertized CFM rate, I'd say 45-55% of the specs. In a side-by-side match against a 120x120x25 Jamicon HTLS bearing fan of aprox the same stated output, the Scythe was doing about half of the work of the "real" fan. Taking the monetary brody and requesting an RMA#..

Other Thoughts: Even with the extra wires sent along, no 3 pin female connector; you have a 4-pin female on the fan proper, and a male and female Molex that connects with a 3 pin male: Not motherboard friendly unless for the cpu.

3 out of 5 eggsScrew warning

Pros: Very quiet! I replaced the fan on my OCZ heatsink/fan and this thing works great.

Cons: Knocked down 2 eggs for the following reason. The screws that came with it are too short. This is a closed chassis fan so you need a screw that is longer than this fan is deep. Since this fan is 25mm deep, you would need screws that are about 30mm long. The screws that came with this fan are only 10mm long which would work just fine with the open chassis fans. So don't plan on using the screws that come with this.

Other Thoughts: I was able to use the rubber screw mounts that came with my OCZ heatsink/fan. They are not long enough to go all the way through so I had to use string to pull them in. Luckily they are fat enough to hold themselves in.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: quiet, moves lots of air

Cons: no leds?

Other Thoughts: works great with my nvidia 680i, works as advertised, pwm fan, inaudiable most of the time unless its set to 100%, which it is moderately quiet

set to 60%-80% for best results
