4 out of 5 eggsFans Blow Air

Pros: If silence is your goal, it can be hard to find reliable reviews on fans. One person's whisper is another person's lawnmower.

I'm happy to report that, after several months of use, I haven't replaced this fan as I have virtually every other fan in my case, multiple times, due to false noise or flow ratings. At ~1050 RPM, this fan is audible but produces no odd tones like some other fans. At ~900 RPM, it's inaudible over my other fans.

The price is quite agreeable as well!

Cons: It uses sleeve bearings. They're cheap, and they WILL break, it's only a matter of time. I am surprised at how long this one's lasted so far though, with no signs of squeal, judder or seizing. Unpowered, it still spins as freely and quietly as the day I got it. I count the bearing type as only a marginal con considering the price, giving this fan 4 eggs.

Other Thoughts: Beware unbelievable CFM or noise level claims by manufacturers. If it seems to good to be true in the fan market, it absolutely is. This fan has the thickness to back up it's claims, and it actually does deliver. For a heatsink fan, to be used in a silent computer, this is an excellent option. I say that with some surprise, as I'm a huge noise snob and this is a low cost fan!

5 out of 5 eggsHappy with it

Pros: Quiet.... Blows.... do you really need anything else

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: This fan is thicker than the usual case fan (as description and other reviewers have said). This did make installation in Antec mini p180 more difficult, but since I was removing the lower HDD bay anyway (a nice feature of the case) it wasn't a problem.

1 out of 5 eggsIs Everybody Deaf?

Pros: None

Cons: These things have a very annoying whine, I put all the covers on my case and could still hear it. I tried 4 and they all had the same annoying wihine.

I tried slowing them down but the whine persisted... just a different pitch.

Other Thoughts: More for the useless junk box.

5 out of 5 eggsBIG and quiet

Pros: Quiet but moves a lot of air.

Cons: The size? But I wanted a fan that was quiet so size was a secondary concern... plus the specs are listed. Cannot deduct an egg for that.

Other Thoughts: I bought these to use in a push/pull configuration to cool the radiator on a Corsair H50. Unless you mount that type of setup in the 5.25" drive bays it will be too big to hang on the rear exhaust. But even one fan is superior to the included corsair fan with that package.

5 out of 5 eggsGood fan - watch the depth.

Pros: Moves a decent quantity of air without making a lot of noise. Mounted easily. Uses a deeper blade at a lower speed to move air quietly, so watch the depth! (38mm)

Cons: None. This is a great fan, with 12 ***** ratings, and only 2 **** ratings, both of which subtracted a point for the size of the fan (depth) which is listed in the specs. Not fair to criticize the product for an inherent trait, disclosed in the specs but overlooked by the buyer.

Other Thoughts: My fault for not paying attention, but this fan is 38 mm deep, not 25. It will not fit in the bays meant for cooling a hard drive, such as on the front of an Antec 300. Again, it was my fault for making a quick order without reading all the specs. I just moved the Antec rear fan to the front bay and used this fan for the rear exhaust.

5 out of 5 eggsLOVE LOVE LOVE

Pros: These fans are fabulous. They move a ton of air for the sound they make. Replacing two of my old Thermaltake 2018's with these really made my case dead silent, however they do move less air (still plenty though).

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: These things really are huge, do yourself a favor and actually measure the space available inside your case before ordering them. I had to re-arrange my case to accomodate them.

4 out of 5 eggsWarning: a bit thick

Pros: Cheap, free shipping when I bought it, very quiet but moves enough air. Basically everything I wanted in a fan.

Cons: Unfortunately, this fan is a bit thicker than most others; it's a hefty 38 cm. I didn't notice this before I bought it, so the fan won't fit where I intended. Still, I fully expect to find somewhere else to fit it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Fan

Pros: Quiet, Easy Install, Powered from my motherboard

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Make sure you check to see if you have room for the width around 36mm. So far a nice quiet fan.
