5 out of 5 eggsScythe DFS123812-200 120mm case fan

Pros: I have two of these in a push pull on my Corsar HS 50 and they keep it real cool.

Cons: a little loud.

4 out of 5 eggsFairly quiet but rough around the edges

Pros: A good fan if you need one 38mm thick, or with a high static pressure at a low price. Relatively quiet, with sound qualities similar to an average-quality fan.

Cons: Some bearing noise that is obvious to a discriminating user -- clicks and some buzzing, and even a drone depending on how it is mounted. I switched out the 3000 rpm version in favor of this one; that older fan had a lot more coarseness to it, so I wonder how long this fan will stay reasonably quiet.

Other Thoughts: I mounted this fan in the rear of a mid-tower case with five other case fans, and run it at around 1000 rpm or even less, so there's nothing offensive about it.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat fan and how to keep it quiet

Pros: This fan blows a ton of air for only 2000 rpm.
If you wish to quiet it down to almost whisper quiet, remove any obstructions to the front of the fan. I use this fan on my Corsair h-50 and I cut out the perforated area of the case where the fan mounts. It cut out most of the noise and left a nice pathway for air to enter. The main problem with large airflow fans is that when pushing large amounts of air through a small opening, the air will make noise. So make the opening as clear as possible and you will find that this fan is superior to most other fans. And it is not expensive!

Cons: The fan does not come with the correct screws so a visit to the hardware store is in order. 6-22 screws are needed and they come in 2 inch lengths. The 1 1/2 inchers are too short.

This fan is thick and will not fit in the front of most cases. It is ideal for side mounts and back of case and most top mounts. Just remember to cut out any obstructions.

I did not buy this fan from Newegg but wish I did. I paid $15 for it at a local store and I could have saved the tax and the extra $5 I paid.

Other Thoughts: This fan cut down my idle temps to 29C with an overclocked overvolted 955 from the standard Corsair fan which usually gave me 36C. I never go over 39C with this fan when running prime 95. Games never go over 39C also. The combination of the Corsair H50 and this fan makes for a killer cooler.

5 out of 5 eggsLeaf blower without the TOXIC fumes

Pros: Great for water cooling, using them on a radiator
CFM is correct in my book
Silent on 7v

Cons: loud!!
7v 35-40CFM only wish it was higher..

Other Thoughts: using them with a Fan Atic controller 12v,7v,off
water cooling my system with these with the above controller great fans but on 7v only pushes around 35-40CFM on less but very quiet.
Just wish I would have bought the 3000RPM version instead using them on a 7v would have put me around 60+CFM would have been better on my rad.

3 out of 5 eggsshould have gone for more

Pros: dropped my cogage i7 cooler 4deg.

Cons: sleeve, low life rating from sythe.

Other Thoughts: I could have gone for more, but did this one because I have an 80mm tornado that is a few years old and never implemented due to noise. The specs were similar but noise was minimal on this one. side by side, the tornado seems more, but could just be due to high velocity, low volume. anyway, I could have gone with one that blows more, since this is way audibly acceptible.
I'm not so happy about the life expectancy rating from the company, nor the sleeve bearing.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: If your even considering this fan then your not worried about noise. If you are then look for another fan because this one does make a little noise but not unbearable.

It moves air very well and is a very powerful little fan. Mine has a DIY filter in front of it and it has no problems sucking air thru at all.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Scythe fans have always worked well for me. I have several going strong after years of constant use.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Great Great

Pros: Put 2 of these in NZXT BETA for my new upgrade. They work perfectly and the noise is easily tolerable. My old case had the 3000 Ultra Kaze in it so this is a very nice compromise with the high airflow still there and the noise is considerably lower. If I could fit 2 more on the side I would do it but my Kingwin XT-1264 cooler is to tall.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Scythe will always be my case fan of choice. High airflow and the reliability is 2nd to none. Great job Scythe!!!!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Fans!

Pros: Great flow and pressure.

Cons: At the rated 32db, still somewhat noisy. Need to use silicone mount to minimize vibration.

Other Thoughts: Have 9 of these in system- 5 in case and 4 back of desk to remove exhaust air. Best tolerable noise high performance fan out there. Pressure does make a difference when using filters. Buy em!

5 out of 5 eggsgreat for watercooling

Pros: I have 2 of these on my watercooling radiator. They push a lot of air when on full speed. The positive pressure effect works as advertised.

Cons: Just plain black

Other Thoughts: I had two other fans with the same size and RPM but they didn't push the air through the radiator proberly. These fans do the job perfectly.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Fan!! A+

Pros: Moves a lot of air. Installed 3 of these and my load temps dropped about 5C. A must have if you have an i7 setup!

Cons: They weren't free, but you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: I can't say enough about these fans. I originally bought the $1 cheaper Sunon 3K RPM fans, and those were EXTREMELY LOUD. These however, are not. I am seriously considering replacing 2 more fans in my case with these!

They are 38mm thick, I was still easily able to get them to fit in my case. Some people with mid-towers and big air coolers might have problems, but I'm sure you'll be able to get around it.
