Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: A good fan if you need one 38mm thick, or with a high static pressure at a low price. Relatively quiet, with sound qualities similar to an average-quality fan.
Cons: Some bearing noise that is obvious to a discriminating user -- clicks and some buzzing, and even a drone depending on how it is mounted. I switched out the 3000 rpm version in favor of this one; that older fan had a lot more coarseness to it, so I wonder how long this fan will stay reasonably quiet.
Other Thoughts: I mounted this fan in the rear of a mid-tower case with five other case fans, and run it at around 1000 rpm or even less, so there's nothing offensive about it.

great fan and how to keep it quiet

Pros: This fan blows a ton of air for only 2000 rpm. If you wish to quiet it down to almost whisper quiet, remove any obstructions to the front of the fan. I use this fan on my Corsair h-50 and I cut out the perforated area of the case where the fan mounts. It cut out most of the noise and left a nice pathway for air to enter. The main problem with large airflow fans is that when pushing large amounts of air through a small opening, the air will make noise. So make the opening as clear as possible and you will find that this fan is superior to most other fans. And it is not expensive!
Cons: The fan does not come with the correct screws so a visit to the hardware store is in order. 6-22 screws are needed and they come in 2 inch lengths. The 1 1/2 inchers are too short.
This fan is thick and will not fit in the front of most cases. It is ideal for side mounts and back of case and most top mounts. Just remember to cut out any obstructions.
I did not buy this fan from Newegg but wish I did. I paid $15 for it at a local store and I could have saved the tax and the extra $5 I paid.
Other Thoughts: This fan cut down my idle temps to 29C with an overclocked overvolted 955 from the standard Corsair fan which usually gave me 36C. I never go over 39C with this fan when running prime 95. Games never go over 39C also. The combination of the Corsair H50 and this fan makes for a killer cooler.

Pros: Great for water cooling, using them on a radiator CFM is correct in my book Silent on 7v
Cons: loud!! 7v 35-40CFM only wish it was higher..
Other Thoughts: using them with a Fan Atic controller 12v,7v,off water cooling my system with these with the above controller great fans but on 7v only pushes around 35-40CFM on less but very quiet. Just wish I would have bought the 3000RPM version instead using them on a 7v would have put me around 60+CFM would have been better on my rad.
