5 out of 5 eggsAir movement? This monster does it!!!

Pros: I was skeptical at first, but given the price i couldn't turn it down. Very high CFM with sufficient RPM capability. I took a chance and man, was i impressed!!! If you are looking for cool looking fan to showcase your system, this is NOT it. Plain looks, but it does everything a fan is supposed to do, move air.....and boy, does this fan move it!!!!

Cons: The only con about this fan is the noise factor, which is clearly stated both in the description and on the packaging. If you are noise conscience with your rig, than look elsewhere. Its more quiet than the fan it replaced, which was on its way out the door, but not by much.

Other Thoughts: If you are not worried about flashy looks or the fact that your tower will sound like a 747 jet landing, then this is for you!!! It does exactly what a fan should do....move a ton of air as fast as it can. I'm purchasing another one just to have one on hand in case any of my friends need one!!

5 out of 5 eggsScythe is a great name for this monster.

Pros: -Ever had to slow down a fan? This bad boy can really push some air. I actually had to slow it down because it has the capability of working like a barn fan in your tower.
-easy to control in bios
-did i mention this thing is powerful?

Cons: When at high speed it can put off some serious noise, but if you'e purchasing this you know that ahead of time.

Other Thoughts: If you need to get some buildup to bleed out of your case grab this thing. My temps stay ambient even during high graphic power house games.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes exactly what it's supposed to do

Pros: This fan moves an incredible amount of air. Fastest RPM and CFM rating for a case fan I have ever seen.

Cons: Loud. Like can't-hear-myself-think loud at full speed. But I expected as much with the stated decibel rating on the product page. Just know what you are getting yourself into.

Other Thoughts: I put this into a 8-bay storage tower with 6 hard drives after the stock fan for the tower failed and I realized that the original fan was too quiet for me to notice that it failed and I wasn't actively checking the hard drives temperatures because they were long term storage that was only occasionally accessed. Boy was I wrong. I could have cooked food on those hard drives they were overheating so bad even on idle. While I was fortunate not to have any fail on me, I bought this product so that I would 1) hear it so I could easily tell if it failed and 2) would never have to monitor temperature because it is the most powerful I have seen by far. And that is definitely true. I copied many TB of data between drives in the array and none of the drives have cracked 90 F, well below danger thresholds. They are at least 25 F, probably 30 F away from being in the danger zone. While I don't know what the temps were at while the stock fan was working, I highly doubt they were this low, especially under heavy use loading data between drives.

It's crazy loud though, so I only turn on the array when I need it because unfortunately my tower only has a two pin connection (I used an adapter for this product) so there is no speed regulation. When it's on it sounds like a jet engine in my room and I fear my tower will try to take flight one day.

4 out of 5 eggsstarting to die

Pros: its moves a lot of air

Cons: bought it in 2009 and its starting to die. Not too bad value considering I paid 10 bucks for it. For some reason, 6 years later the price is now twice that??? also very thick fan!
I used a fan controller so it wouldn't sound like a hair dryer (cause it does)

Other Thoughts: I'm buying another even at this price.

5 out of 5 eggsRunning since 2011

Pros: Has been running for 4 years without a hitch. Pull fan on my Scythe Mugen 2, with the Scythe Slipstream on push. Has supports because the weight of the fans and sink weigh quite a bit.

Fan is on a regulator with some foam bits to dampen vibration. Don't think I've ever turned it above 40% speed, but this combo has kept my superclocked Phenom II 955 cool as ice for almost half a decade.

Cons: At 100% can sometimes suck small mammals into PC case.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Fans

Pros: Very well built!
Moves alot of air!
Works well with controlers.
Is almost Silent with a controller!

Cons: They are 5 years old and still work so none

Other Thoughts: I used 4 of these in a server build 5 years ago. I have not had a single failure! This is even with the server sitting in a small closet. They are connected to a fan controller and they only spin at 1100 RPM most of the time. This seems to be less then half of their operation speed. Even at a low RPM they move alot of air. This is good because it is almost silent!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome investment!

Pros: All the things.

Cons: Can be loud without a way to moderate the RPMs, recommend a controller panel if you use these bad boys. I have 3 in mine and when I kick them up, hardly ever, sounds like a tornado is about to be formed underneath my desk.

Other Thoughts: I have two of these guys in a push pull system on my heatsink, I've never had a problem, not a once, with even coming close to overheating. Highly recommended, if you can find em.

5 out of 5 eggsThey still work!

Pros: Durable HIGH AIRFLOW! Bought these back in 2009 for my water-cooling setup. Using 4 of these on an XSPC quad radiator, very good airflow keeping my temps below 23 Celsius

Cons: Because of its high airflow they are huge dust collector's, which need to be maintained every month or so.

Other Thoughts: 5 Years later they are still working strong! Very good investment.

5 out of 5 eggsCrazy CFM/noise

Pros: Moves are completely insane amount of air

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: When I have some talking to me that I want to ignore I simply reach over and slap these bad boys to 100% and BAM, no more listening to someone nag. On the other hand you're now listening to nothing but the equivalent of a 747 taking off.

3 out of 5 eggsStrange rattling sound

Pros: Moves a great deal of air, thats honestly about it just look at the rpm and you will know what you're getting into

Cons: Strange rattling sound when you run them on low rpm, clearly they were not made for low RPM but at high RPM its sounds like you're in a wind tunnel.

Other Thoughts: I'd use these but the rattling is just a bit annoying I have to find a way to dampen the sound. Im looking into fan silencers maybe that will do the trick. Until then I'll use my headset.
