4 out of 5 eggsNice pur at max output...

Pros: - Great air movement (110 CFM)

- Pleasing air sound at max output (in my opinion)

- Long lifespan (3.75+ years for me)

- Solid black (looks good in any rig!)

I used two of these Scythe 120mm "Slipstream" case fans as intakes to feed air to my GPUs from outside the case. I chose them because I like my fans to be able to push a lot of air and 110 CFM is very respectable. The volume and quality of the noise made by the fans at max output is surprising tame in my opinion--they kind of puuuuuuur, which is more than can be said for many higher CFM fans. But this perception is coming from somebody many would (rightfully) consider a fan-atic. (sorry, I couldn't resist).

My computer is always on, so getting 4 years out of a case fan is totally acceptable to me, especially at the price they used to be (an Alexander Hamilton denomination minus a George Washington denomination).

Cons: - Noise. For some, especially those without the ability to control fan speed, these will seem too noisy. This is no fault of the fan, as any fan pushing 110 CFM is going to make noise. At least these puuuuurrrr!

- It's a matter of perception how long a case fan should last, but 1 out of 2 of my Slipstreams died at around 3.75 years. The other is still hard at work. As I stated earlier, this really shouldn't be seen as a con because my rig runs 24/7, but I have had fans last longer.

Other Thoughts: At the current price, most people would probably be happier with a Delta fan, but this is only if maximum quality/airflow and no standard for how much noise the fan makes are what is sought. In my experience, this is the quietest 110 CFM fan.

Note: I'm pretty extreme (or, what others might call, "ridiculous") when it comes to air cooling for my PCs. I have a 3 fan controller, which I use for my primary intake/outtake fans. These Slipstreams were split on one of my controller channels. So, I control the speed of two fans on on channel. My tower has 9 fans. I'm pretty much what happens to a rig builder if they want maximum performance/overclocking, while at the same time are resisting liquid cooling. Perhaps one day I'll give in to the liquid.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Quiet, at first

Cons: Started getting noisy after about a year until one day the fan blades and pin fell out of the hub.

Other Thoughts: I don't think that these fans are worth the premium prices.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat but sad

Pros: The fans are really great and quiet. I have 6 in a 4U rackmount case and the PSU is louder then they are.

Cons: Sadly they have slowly been freezing up and require replacement. I've gotten about a year and a half out of them so far.

3 out of 5 eggsGREAT for 3 years....

Pros: Purchased 3 of these to go in my Silverstone Raven RV03B.
They worked just fine for 3 years.. then they all burned up in the same month one after the other. Exactly 3 years from purchase.

Cons: All of the standard case fans that came with my case are still running & these $30-40 extra special case fans have all died. Expected the opposite for the $$$.

Other Thoughts: Disappointed they only lasted 3 years.
Disappointed they got out lasted by generic fans that came with the Case.

3 out of 5 eggsNot so good fans

Pros: The fans are good for your basic needs of cooling. Runs quiet.

Cons: I bought 4 fans, and after a while I had one start making noises, then another one started making noises. I replace those fans with a different brand after I checked them out to find out that the fins had cracks in them.

5 out of 5 eggsREREVIEW

Pros: Excellent fan wish i would have bought more when they sold for 8.98 each now 37 bucks..... My opinion still worth every penny moves massive amounts of air....... Purchased in April 2011 still running today like champions April 2014.....

Cons: The cost today is a bit over inflation being i purchased these in 2011 for much less..... would still pay the 37 dollars for one thou.....not much of a con ... you get what you pay for

5 out of 5 eggsGreat fans, but not for the price anymore....

Pros: Great product. Moves good amount of air, even with a fan controller. Have had 6 of these running in my rig for just about 3 years!

Cons: 2 died right around the 2 year mark. But then again, I do have my machine running almost all the time. Even with a fan controller to bring the speed down these are still noisy.

Other Thoughts: Have a Thermaltake Element S, 3 case fans and 2 for a push/pull design on a Corsair H50. 2 died and a good thing I bought some extra when these were $8.49! I don't think they are that great for the price being sold for now.

3 out of 5 eggsStill Kickin'

Pros: Push a lot of air, last relatively long, and WERE quite cheap at the time.

Cons: One has developed a slight whine to it. Cleaning and re-lubing helped a bit. Wouldn't recommend these fans at the current price. Overall, they're quite loud. Even with a fan controller at 40-50%.

Other Thoughts: I bought 4 of these almost 4 years ago to the tune of about $11 each. Even at that price I don't feel these were worth it.

3 out of 5 eggsNoisy but moves air

Pros: Using 2 of these in a Cooler Master CM690 for the almost the past 3 years OFF and ON while gaming in the hot summer. Neither have died yet. They're usually on only about 1-2 hours 4 times a week for the summer months. Total use of about year.

Cons: Expensive and very noisy. Even with the case (CM690) on the floor about 4 feet from me, these fans are loud. Both are place on the bottom of the case. I suggest a fan controller which makes this setup even more expensive.
