On the fence for this rating
- Pros: It really is a good fan. It moves a lot of air, but still remains fairly quiet. It isn't dead silent, but its not something that overwhelms or even hinders normal conversation while near it.
- Cons: The only problem I have with this fan is that it seems you will be taking chances on whether you get a good fan or not. I bought two of these and while the first one works perfectly, the other one did not. It was very loud and died on me after just two and a half months. One thing that was nice is that even so, both of the fans pushed about the same amount of air.
- Other Thoughts: As usual, newegg's customer service is good. I complained about it to newegg just after receiving the purchase and asked for an exchange. While they did not give me an exchange (the total cost in shipping made it not worthwhile apparently), they did refund me the cost of the fan. Its not what I wanted, I'd rather have the fan, but it is way better than what some other places have done for me.
Amazing Fan
- Pros: This is an amazing fan! It pushes so much air!
- Cons: Its VERY loud. Get a fan controller if you do not have one!
- Other Thoughts: It says its a 140mm fan, it is a 140mm fan, but it can only screw into a 120mm fan screwing hole thingies.
Scythe Standards.
- Pros: - BIG 140mm. Still may fit on 120.
- REVOLUTIONARY DESIGN in every aspect of functionality, STRONG, BIG MOTOR and round so you don't get bored. - For its speed it is quite quiet at full 1900rpm but it will make your computer sound like hovercraft craft at full speed due to the aerodynamic of the CASE just keep it at 1000rpm. - Very good Screws included, NO issues to install.
- Cons: - No LEDs, but come on it is all about the performance here.
- If you only have 140 mounting holes there is little you can do, but that is the System Case fault.
- Other Thoughts: (120mm mounting holes) I don't know if this is a CON or not I think it depends on you but it is truly not if you know you are getting a different fan that is round to begin with.
Get the @ 1000rpm model if you don't need that much air anyways and want to have a low noise profile PC without a fan controller.
And remember every fan has its application. You have to do the math to get exactly what you want. I did replace this fan later with LEDs fans but I feel no regrets for this I will keep them around maybe for a special setup in the future. Now I have a PC my mom calls "LasVegas".
