1 out of 5 eggsnot worth it

Pros: after eight month of ownership.. nothing

Cons: cheap, cheap and cheap, it is quiet, but always had a slight shimmy, and today both fans started to make a plastic scratch sound, most likely due to the flimsy design

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome cooler w/ the bigger scythe 100mm fans.

Pros: This cooler has gone through several graphics processors and has not disappointed me what-so-ever on any of them, from a 8800GTS G92 to currently being installed on a HD 5830, it shows consistent performance. Mounting mechanism is easy enough to figure out, works with multiple sizes of mounting holes so you can take it with you from GPU to GPU. One-size-fits-all design is very handy.

Also, the design of the cooler lends itself to better cooling of all the individual components on the card, as the air that is blown through the fins hits the card directly, and I've observed better temps overall thanks to this.

With all settings stock, at 18C ambient temperature and with the new fans, the card sits at around 24-25C idle. Running furmark with 1920x1080 and 2x MSAA settings after 12 minutes, the card sits between 33-34C loaded. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 ran at no higher than 30C throughout a multiplayer deathmatch, and Race Driver GRID ran at no higher than 30C through a race.

Cons: The build quality leaves a little to be desired. The fins are somewhat thin and bend easily, as I've managed to mangle them somewhat while putting new 100mm fans on. The fins aren't soldered to the heatpipes, so this is to be expected, but if you don't plan on replacing the stock fans then don't worry about it.

Other Thoughts: Paired this cooler with a pair of Scythe Kaze-Jyu 1500RPM 100 x 25mm fans (SY1025SLN12M) for even better performance. This allowed me to run the fans full-speed, getting better temps while staying quiet.

As mentioned above, the fins bend easily, and the problem with installing these fans was that their edges are thicker than the edges on the fans that come with this cooler, so it was a tight fit with the included fan clips, as they're not really designed for these thicker edges.

I've experimented with numerous fan setups with this cooler, and even after the fins have been beaten up and such, the cooler still performs as well as it did when it came out of the box for the first time. I'm pretty impressed with the kind of temps that I'm seeing on my HD 5830 (XFX model).

Even with the stock fans this cooler netted great temps, but I highly recommend these scythe 100 x 25mm 1500rpm fans for the best mix of silence and performance. I definitely recommend this cooler!

4 out of 5 eggsWorks like a champion

Pros: Put this on my 9800GTX+ that kept overheating with the stock cooling and now this thing runs very nicely with this heat sink/fan. GPU stays cool on maximum load. Comes with instructions and thermal paste. I'll probably buy another one of these for my 2nd 9800GTX+ in SLI

Cons: Includes thermal paste, has adjustable fan speed controller that fits in a expansion slot on the back of a system. Cools nicely and great for the price. Highly recommend this to anyone having heat issues with a 9800GTX+

Other Thoughts: As mentioned the Glue doesn't stick well so i had to also use some super glue to hold one of the smaller heat sinks onto the card which made me nervous but no issues and its running fine. Also the fan controller is kind of silly to mount it to a expansion back panel slot because it will not fit out the back due to the Knobs on the controller being too big. Instructions are kind of vague but they do the job eventually once you figure out exactly how this works.

5 out of 5 eggsJust cool it

Pros: workes great, cool by 30 degrees
went from 45c idel to 28c and a 60c max to a 30c max

this thing is great and installed with little to no effort at all, it was kinda loose even after all the finger screw were tighted(didnt want to over tight) but its all good for the temps im getting now. And the extra heatsinks were a blessing i removed my old heatsink to find it wasn't even cooling the video ram or the power chips it was just the gpu cooler and nothing more, so now my card it going to last a very long time with all this extra cooling it now has.
and can you hear a thing. NO super ultra quite next to my stock coolers with the blower fans.

Cons: Thermal paste it comes with is a joke. just opened the package to see what it was like,....can you say watered down, cuz thats was its like it will just run off your board with easy like water not worth the wasted time of using it. just use artic 5. was a little loose even after tighting up everything but since temps are so low im going to wave that.

Size...these coolers are monsters in size almost gets to the other side of my Smart one case.

Other Thoughts: didn't come with pizza or drinks. fans don't push tons of air but even with them at full low its only a 1 degree difference.

i recommend this to anyone needing to cool off.

card was a ATI HD3650 AGP

4 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: It works well on the HD 4870. I had no problems installing the heat sink. fans run cool and quiet. brought the temps down on my core and v-regs buy 10-15c.

Cons: I had a little problem with the additional heat sinks for the other parts of the card. The adhesive thermal stuff would not stick to the parts on the board.

Other Thoughts: I had to use a tiny drop of crazy glue in each corner of the heat sink to adhere them properly. I have had the card working fine for a week now and the crazy glue has no ill effect.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful cooling solution

Pros: I am using on an AMD xfx 4890. It keeps the card around 45c in idle and usually around 60c-65c while gaming. It is very silent and having the fan speed controls take a space in the back is really cool. over all great product, I actually own 2. the other is installed on a 8800GT. Keeps that one on the chilly side also.

Cons: Not really a con since it does not seem to affect the cooling performance. But installed on a 4890, it will slide from side to side alittle but stays on GPU great to pull off the heat which is what it is all about. like I said. it worried me at first but after seeing continual great cooling my concerns went away.

Other Thoughts: inexpensive and a silent beast for a cooler. A+ in my book

4 out of 5 eggsBetter than stock

Pros: It's running 10 deg. C cooler than stock @ idle so far, hoping it'll lower some more once the paste cures on the sinks & gpu itself.
Installed w/ Gelid GC Extreme thermal paste.
Simple to install.

Cons: If thermal tape doesn't have the 3M logo on it....don't use it! This VGA cooler does not have very good tape. Use thermal adhesive for the h/s or they will fall off.
Fortunately I always keep some Artic Silver thermal adhesive for such occasions and was prepared.

Other Thoughts: Installed on a EVGA 9800 GTX & monitoring temps w/ EVGA Precision 2.0. - Fans @ 40%

5 out of 5 eggsGOOD FOR 5870

Pros: Shaved off 5C by using Artic silver 5 along with this cooler. I run the fans full and there is little noise. Ths Caveat is in my experience the fans wear out in about a year. no ball bearing fans this size are available to my knowledgge.I have them currently running on 3870,4870, and 5870.The 5870 loves this setup. The factory setup was missing heat tape and slurped coolant grease all over. I have cleaned and mounted 2 5870 coolers in Haf 932 cases and I'm currently a huge hero and the king of quiet to my family.

Cons: sleeve bearing fans get loud and croak after about a year. Well. 3 out or 8, 90000 % by my calculations. I have tried most if not all the new coolant pastes and Artic Silver still is my favorite. not a real test, just temps are all the same within 1c. I get samples.

Other Thoughts: Worth the extra work as cooler is longer running. Quieter, and satisfying knowing you have checked it out as oem vga cards should be regreased any way. Gun oil on the fan hub will quiet it for a while, use the best oil available.
