Scythe offers high end features and performance at value prices. The MUGEN-2 SCMG-2000 has options found on many more expensive coolers. The four-sided high-density aluminum fins offers installation for 4 fans if you need, which will maximize its heat dissipation. It has 4 large exposed pure copper heatpipes at its nickel-plated copper base which has direct contact with the CPU for efficient thermal conduction.
Designed to attach easily to the motherboard of all Intel LGA1366, 775, Socket 478 and AMD Socket AM2, AM2+, 940, 939, and 754 CPUs, the MUGEN-2 SCMG-2000 is ready to go right out of the box. No tools are required, nor do you have to remove the motherboard The low noise cooler radiates a maximum of 26.5dB so it will be barely noticeable in your system. It is a great choice for overclockers!
Pros: This Heatsink is a cooling beast that comes with a 120mm silent fan. It fit just fine in my CM Centurion 5 Mid tower with an inch to spare from the side panel. You can set this up any way you like with the assembly kit that allows for various arrangements. Impressive cooling, allows my Core2Duo E8400 to reach 4.1Ghz and keeps my temps at 27*C idle, 48*C under load! I would probably be able to go higher but my RAM becomes unstable at higher speeds. 4.1 is good enough for me :)
Cons: The heatsink is huge and the fins bend easily which I knew beforehand but the installation is not easy and causes you to grab it by the fins by accident. An extra hand would help tremendously but if you are by yourself, I suggest putting the heatsink upside down on your table or work area and the attach your appropriate socket clips. Apply thermal compound to the CPU and then bring the Motherboard to the heatsink. Place the backplate onto the Mobo and then line up the holes to the heatsink clips and put the screws in. So basically I had everything upside down becuase the screws go in through the bottom of the motherboard and the bottom of the heatink. Plan ahead accordingly with the way you want the heatsink to be attached to the motherboard, otherwise it will take you a very long time to complete this installation when you have to keep applying thermal paste over and over because something doesn't go the way you wanted it to.
Other Thoughts: I was going to buy it from newegg but instead I decided to go to my local computer store to pickup additional items as well. The price is better at newegg but you have to wait a couple of days for shipping :P

Pros: I have AMD Phenom 9850 2.5GHz with stock cooling. I never cared about the CPU temperature since the stock cooling was big, had 4 copper pipes and the base is made out of copper. When I played games in Summer for an hour or more, the computer would slow down and freeze from time to time. Then I went to my mother board website and downloaded the temperature regulator utility and got a reading of 50C CPU temperature in IDLE. Now I know 70C is where I should worry about so 50C is not a problem, but still I did not like it at all. So I bought this cooler and installed it (1 hour process). When I turned on my computer and went to the BIOS the CPU temperature was 25C . I wanted to get my eyes checked by the doctor but I asked my bro to take a look at it to verify that my eyes were not deceiving me. Then I went to windows and the temperature went down to 23C at IDLE and the operating system is running more stable with no freeze up in game. How could a simple cooler do so much!!!
Cons: Installation is a little hard but it's fun. For AM2+ I started from the Heat Sink then worked my way to the mother board. If you have extra set of hands then it becomes easy to install. You will have to take out the entire mother board in order to install this heat sink. Also if you want to upgrade your CPU then you will have to take out the mother board again for AM2+
Depending on your case you may not be able to close it if you have a side fan (Full Tower). I took off the side fan from the inside and installed it to the outside and the problem is solved :)
Other Thoughts: The heat sink secures very nicely and tight. After you install it you get the secure feeling that you can not take it off easily unless you take out the mother board. Since its all screw in, you get to choose how tight (making it very tight is not recommended) or loose you want it. And the screw are long enough to reach every ends. The Arctic Silver thermal past is not high quality (not Arctic Silver 5) but hey 23C is more then what I asked for from air cooling (I am not complaining).
I most definitely recommend this product because its worth the effort after seeing the result and the price is just right.

Pros: Very efficient heatsink. It has adaptors for a large variety of CPU sockets.
Cons: The side-mounted fan won't clear some memory sticks. The heatsink is very large, and its size does need to be taken into consideration during a build. It's also a bit of a pain to install.
Other Thoughts: Other than its sheer size, it's incredibly efficient and it does its job very well!

Pros: My Phenom IIx4 965 idles at 22°C! This thing works like a charm! The fan is extremely quiet, although I doubt I could hear it over the others I have in the case. Installation was only hampered by the shear size of this thing, but nothing too difficult, and totally worth it.
Cons: Hmm... the size? Yep, make sure you have a case big enough to fit this beast.
Other Thoughts: I was originally going to use liquid cooling on my CPU, but this thing does just as good of a job for a mere fraction of the cost/hassle.

Highlights
Superior Heat Dissipation and Cooling Performance The copper base and 5 copper heatpipes conduct heat fast; high-density and innovative designed nickel-plated copper fins maximize heat dissipation area, plus a 120mm 1200PRM sleeve bearing fan to deliver optimal cooling performance.
Universal Compatibility and Reliable Installation The latest developed F.M.S.B. (Flip Mount Super Back-Plate) improves the compatibility of the Mugen 2 cooler, which is compatible with all the current sockets, including the new Intel Socket LGA 1366. Plus the new system supplies a back plate mounting set for more stable installation.
New Designed Fan Mount Structure The new design enables it possible to mount the supplied fan in four different directions. So the user can arrange the air flow at will without taking the whole CPU cooler off the motherboard. A total number of 4 fans can be mounted for the maximum performance.
Multiple Airflow Pass-Through Structure The new lamellar structure realizes the airflow generated by the Scythe Slip Stream being used completely and perfectly.
