5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Cooler esp after 5 years

Pros: Excellent Cooler - has been running strong since 2008 with a AMD X2 5000+ BE OC to 3.1Ghz

Cons: None at all except I am probably the only person who ran this backwards for 5 years. I never used an OEM cooler so I never had anything to compare temps to. It did an OK job even backwards inside an Antec 900 at 50C idle, 60 load but I turned it around today and I'm getting 34C idle, 50 load. WOW!

Other Thoughts: Antec 900
ASUS M2N-SLI DELUXE
AMD Phenom x4 940
4GB Patriot DDR2 RAM
ASUS 7850HD Video Card
Crucial M4 256GB SSD

5 out of 5 eggs7 years and still going strong!

Pros: This thing is fantastic!
I bought a new fan just in case about a year ago.
Keeping the original which still works good as new as a spare :)

BTW you can buy the spare fans for around $8 shipped as far as I seem to remember directly from Arctic and other places too.

No reason to get a new cooler while this thing keeps on rocking!

On it's 4th or 5th CPU now, going to be getting a Phenom X6 next and no plans to change fan ;)

Cons: Lasts forever, quiet, effective

3 out of 5 eggsDangerous

Pros: It keeps things cool, and installation was easier than the stock fan. I bought this 8+ years ago, for the sole purpose of cooling my first build. And it's still lasted.

Cons: It broke the mounting bracket on two of my boards. Eventually we purchased a metal bracket, which cost ~5. Maybe I did something wrong, but my comp was out of service while the brackets were broken. Maybe the brackets were faulty, but since it happened across two boards, I have to dock eggs for that.

Other Thoughts: I know it's been discontinued, but it's worth reviewing anyways. Mine is on it's last leg, the fan is almost dead because I failed to clean it properly. If you can find it, good for you.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Fan

Pros: Easy to install; quality components; keeps CPU cool.

Cons: Large size makes removing RAM modules difficult.

Other Thoughts: Great fan; does a great job cooling my Athlon X2 Regor 3.3Ghz. I recommend wiping off the stock thermal paste from the heat plate, cleaning the surface thoroughly and replacing it with Arctic Silver or other quality thermal compound.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing product

Pros: Easy to install (compared to some others I've had)
Keeps my CPU cool
Easy to clean (important)
Low noise
Seems to last for-freak'n-ever!
Fan pops off heatsink easily when you want to clean things

Cons: A little large
Could interfear with RAM slots
Base isn't polished!@#*)!@#_!^&$@#(!!!1!1111!!!!!!

Other Thoughts: I'm using this on my Phenom II x4 955 running at stock speed of 3.2GHz. At idle it runs around 45° and under full load (read as, 4+ hrs of ArmAII), it gets up to about 50°, maybe a bit over.

The biggest problem I've had with this product is that the base on mine wasn't polished at all. It was a machine finished surface. I need to sand and lap it but I've been too lazy lol. THIS is the reason mine runs a bit warm. My lazy fault, not the product! But, it DOES knock a star off for me because the surface is quite rough. I've done machine tool and die work and trust me, this thing came right off the fly cutter.

I have to also clean mine rather often because of the redonkulas ammounts of dust in this house. This is made much easier because the fan unit simply clicks on and is easy to pop off to allow me to get at the HS unit with a can of air and shop vac....a small shop fac :P

5 out of 5 eggsArtic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro

Pros: Mine is so old. 7-8 Years. I have a 3 pin conector on it. I using it on a Phenom II 955 OCd to 3600 mhz. Very quiet. It cools CPU properly to 32C idle, 39C on high load. I'd like to buy a new one but newegg does'nt have it anymore. I hope they'll have it soon.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: This a through AMD CPU cooler. Sets up to blow to the back side of the computer. It cools AM3+ processors properly too.
I ask NewEgg to get them back on the list of CPU fans.
We want to buy it.

5 out of 5 eggsLegendary

Pros: Quiet. I have this in an Antec Skeleton, which is an open case, and it's as near silent as anything can be.

Very effective cooling. Originally, I had this on an Athlon 64 2.0GHz (don't remember what model that was) and it was kept consistently under 40C. Currently, I have it on an Athlon 64 X2 4850e - what that is is a dual-core version of the original Athlon 64, but on a thinner process so the TDP is only 45W. It's a very low-power design basically. With that CPU and some Arctic silver, my temps are typically 17-19C. On a warm day at full load, the warmest I've ever seen this rig run is (I kid you not) 24C. On a cold day with windows open, I've seen it hit 10C. Yes, 10.

The biggest pro, though, has to be longevity. I do not know the exact date, but I bought mine some time in 2005, and it has been on 3 different CPUs. I bought it partly because of the 6-year warranty it carried at the time, and it's even outlived that warranty. No signs of trouble, even now (05/16/2012).

Cons: Wut?

Other Thoughts: I know it's not actually available here anymore, but I just realized how old mine is, and that it's still working perfectly. So I had to leave a glowing review for posterity. And it looks like other reviews have been left recently as well. 7 or more years after it was released and this thing is STILL getting 5-star reviews. What does that tell you?

Arctic Cooling gave this a 6-year warranty when it was new, as a sign of their confidence in its ceramic bearing. Roughly 7 years after buying mine, I can tell you they weren't kidding around.

5 out of 5 eggsRuns cool

Pros: Works great on my Athlon II X3 445. The AMD bracket allows me to orient the cooler to blow out the back of the case. This cooler is shorter and wider than others so I could fit it in a case with a large side panel fan.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsCool As Can Be

Pros: -Beefy heatsink
-Fan is very quiet

Cons: -Fan protrudes a bit if your ram slots are positioned too close to the CPU and could possibly get in the way if you have some crazy RAM heatsinks (looking at you GSKILL)

Other Thoughts: Love this thing. CPU temps barely over 30C at Full load (1050T Phenom which runs kind of cool anyway) and hovers at about 21C idle.

Very quiet and still going strong even after 2 years of use.

As stated in the cons you *may* have problems with the fan if you have RAM slots too close to the CPU. The first DIMM in my block would be a problem if I put one of the GSKILL Ripjaw modules in with those funky heatsinks.

5 out of 5 eggsBest cooler.

Pros: Very effective, It keeps my CPU at usual a low 20C.

I've had this at least 4 years. No problems!

Cons: None, I've had no problems. Though if you wanna clean it cause a bunch of dust over the coruse of time. It was kinda hard to figure out how to take it off and put it back on.. haha. All good though, quality parts.

Other Thoughts: Only around the summer time does it ever get around 30, I've never seen it go past 40C. I've overclocked my CPU and AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Brisbane 2.3GHz Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Processor to a 2.6 and 2.8. And yes, I used arctic silver.
