5 out of 5 eggsstrong after 10 years

Pros: I've had this thing cooling processors since the socket 939. it's seen an athlon 4000+, a phenom II 945, and most recently an FX-8320. it keeps my current CPU around 18 at idle and no more than 43 at load.

Cons: none I can think of.

Other Thoughts: a year or so ago the fan started making noise and stopped turning. because all of the lubricant had evaporated out of the bearings. so I got some 20w-50 motorcycle oil, peeled off the fan sticker a little bit to expose the bearings, poured a drop or two in, hand spun the fan until it loosened up, and now it's completely functional again and running just as strong. so if anyone is having that issue, there's your fix.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat AMD FM2 CPU Cooler

Pros: Update: Almost a year later and still going strong! I highly recomend this to any AMD users who want an great aftermarket APU/CPU Cooler!

Easy to Install, really quite, keeps temperatures way down. My temps with the stock AMD fan cooler when from 45 C to 23 C and at load for Games it went from 84 C to 45 C! I have an AMD A10-6800k for gaming, not super hign end but does the job. It allows to vent the air in any direction, I chose to push it out the back of the case. I have a very modded all Aluminum Mac G5 case fully converted to AMD with Windows 7 and LinuxMint. This cooler went above and beyond my expectations. But you'll have to find it 2nd hand now that it's been discontinued. They replaced it with the Arctic Freezer 7 v.2 but it only allows for AMD to vent air up or down. I wish Arctic would bring this AMD CPU cooler back as the Freezer 7 limits AMD users to blow up or down.

Cons: 6 months ago the fan had some issues but was still working. Called Arctic Support and they sent me 2 replacement fans! I'm good to go for a long time as long as AMD does not change their socket type. Thanks Arctic support!

Other Thoughts: You can find this AMD CPU cooler on a well known auction site for reasonable prices. You won't be sorry you purchased it!

5 out of 5 eggsUsing on an Fx 6300 after being way past 10 years old! Fantastic!

Pros: Tore this from an old Socket 939 system someone had handed off to me. I am using this on a GA-990FXA-UD3 R4.1 board with an Fx 6300 at stock clocks in a 1080AMG Performance Series case. It's whisper silent even with the fans at 100%. With the fans running at their stock fan curve the max I saw no more than 48 degrees Celsius. Which, on a very hot chip like the Fx 6300, is very good. But I always run all of my fans at 100% since I do not mind the noise, and I don't see it go a single bit above 41 degrees.

Beautiful.

Cons: Very small complaint, as it may just be my motherboard. But with this cooling fan, I cannot go into sleep mode. The fan on the cooler actually stops spinning upon wake-up. No matter what program I use, it still won't come back on until a full reboot. Which is fine, and for the performance and that being my only complaint on a near 14 year old cooler, that's fantastic.

Other Thoughts: If you find one of these, you're very lucky. It's a great cooler for chips up to 125w. I haven't seen it used with an 8 core vishera/bulldozer chip yet, but I assume it'd do an okay job given how well it handles this Fx 6300. Miles ahead of the stock cooler.

5 out of 5 eggsquiet, efective, long lasting

Pros: I have had one of these for 10 years now. I have used it on various motherboards and cpus over the years and it has always been flawless. For the last 7-8 years it's been in my HTPC machine. Right now it's cooling a Phenom 1045t. This cooler has really stood the test of time. It's still working as well as the day I bought it.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsstill good after 4+ years

Pros: Cools very well for only having a 92mm fan
very quiet
lots of copper

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Got this back in 2011 used and it's still in use on a OCed phenom ii 1045t. Still keeps it nice and cool, under 58c full load (OCed to 3.2 ghz). As long as amd keeps the same bracket I will keep using this (the current freezer pro 7 fan fits on this perfectly, i have one of those too but it's not quite as good)

5 out of 5 eggsOl' reliable

Pros: Lasts a long time, quiet, very effective.

Cons: It will die... eventually.

Other Thoughts: I've had mine for almost 10 years, it has done a fantastic job of keeping several CPUs cool but the fan has finally died. Why are they discontinued?

4 out of 5 eggsQuiet, Cool, and Durable

Pros: *Very Quiet and Low Profile
*Keeps higher-end CPUs cool
*Fairly easy installation
*Long Lasting

Cons: *Rather narrow space between aluminum fins makes for less than desirable airflow and can be very difficult to clean dust build up between slots.

Other Thoughts: Keep an can of air handy when cleaning the dust from this. Fan is mounted on a rubber/plastic clip-mount, giving it some play to adsorb vibration from the fan. I've owned this for over 5 years and used it over more than a few CPUs from Low-end Dual Cores to my current High-End 6-Core CPU.
