The new Kama FLEX 120 PWM fan can be automatically controlled when used on a PWM enabled motherboard. Fan is equipped with S-FDB bearing which carries a surface contact mechanism for improved anti-shock. A lifetime of 120,000 hours is achieved by using sealed structure and high-quality materials.

  • newegg S-FDB Bearing The noise of ball bearing lies in a frequency range where human ears recognize them as unpleasant, but dynamic pressure based on non-contact bearing eliminates sliding noises and reduces unpleasant noise level.
  • newegg Anti-Shock Ability Conventional ball bearing carries a point contacting structure for the rotation, which gives point supporting situations at dropping impact leading to damaged ball surface allowing cause of irregular noises. The S-FDB carries a surface contact mechanism for improved anti-shock.
  • newegg Long Life The S-FDB has an exclusive sealed structure which gives improved oil carrying ability for 120,000 hours long life.
  • newegg PWM Function The new Kama FLEX 120 PWM fan can automatically regulate its speed in response to the CPU temperature when connecting to a PWM enabled motherboard.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat case fans

Pros: provides plenty of air through my Rosewill Wind Knight
pwn controlled although i use the molex connectors to prevent overloading the motherboard.
very quiet at 1500rpm

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: helps with overclocking my cpu and keeps it cool in case. i have one in front and one in the rear. using Thermaltake Frio. push pull configuration and fans that come with Frio are set at 1600rpm. i have learned if you even out the rpm with all your fans it provides continuous and cool air flow with no heat blowing inside the case. i have Q9650@4.14ghz and idl@34c and load at 67c when i run intel burn test.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty much perfect

Pros: Perfect range of speed for a cpu fan. Silent at idle but gets up to a healthy but relatively quiet 1600rpm. Will never ever die.

Cons: No sleeving on wire but not quite a con. Just would have been nice on a higher end fan.

Other Thoughts: Anything higher than 1600 rpm is just plain loud. This fan has everything just right. No gimmicks, just build quality and the right specs for a moderate overclock on a nice tower heatsink in a "quiet within reason" performance build. Hovers around 700-900 rpm at idle on my i7 920 which basically can't be heard and ramps up in a logical way as the heat builds.

3 out of 5 eggsNot worth the extra cost

Pros: Works with both 3 and 4-pin connections
Includes molex adaptor

Cons: No instructions or specifications sheet included in packaging.
Not much quieter than cheaper models

Other Thoughts: This fan is almost as loud as the bargain-basement models you can get for 2/3 the price. If you're looking for a quiet fan, jump up to the Logisys SF series. You'll pay quite a bit more, but you definitely get your money's worth.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Case or CPU Fan

Pros: This fan moves a good amount of air.

I haven't found any clicking or other odd noises from anywhere in its full range of speed.

It uses a Sony Fluid Dynamic Bearing, just like other Scythe S-FLEX fans, and is a bit cheaper than the 1200 and 1600 RPM versions.

No louder than most other 120mm fans out there for the speed range.

The 4-pin connector still works on my 3-pin fan lead on the motherboard. My motherboard controls the speed of the fan from there.

Cons: When it does reach 1600 RPM, it can be a bit noisy, but it's no more noisy than my XIGMATEK 120mm CPU cooler fan, when it's at the same speed.

It only comes with a 4 pin connector, and a molex adapter.

Other Thoughts: If your motherboard doesn't support PWM, meaning, it doesn't have the ability to control fan speeds based on the temperature of the case or CPU, then it will run at 1600 RPM, unless you use a fan controller.

May get another one to replace my Xigmatek CPU cooler fan, as it seems to push more air, and the noise at 1600 RPM is not quite as annoying.

Currently using it on the front intake in a 2 push, 3 pull fan setup on a CoolerMaster CM690.

As long as it doesn't get above 1300 RPM, it's just as quiet as the Noctua 120mm I have.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat fan

Pros: Silent, 4-pin PWM, black.

Cons: Would have liked the wires to be sleeved, but no loss of egg for that.
