Quiet Fan
- Pros: Very Very Quiet
- Cons: None really
- Other Thoughts: If you want a quiet fan that will move a pretty standard amount of air, this is the way to go. Moves the same amount as my case's stock fans, with less than half the noise. Only works as an exhaust fan, just so everyone knows.
Interesting concept
- Pros: Quieter than previous fan works as I wanted and does as it's told
- Cons: odd to think that the rubber mounts are NOT the same on all AC's fan's some are slightly larger pieces of rubber than others...
- Other Thoughts: I used this fan to replace the fan in my Freezer 7, the thing runs at like 35+db (or .9 sone as they so kindly add, Google that... still too loud for me)
Tossed the mounting half of the frame and stuck it to the pro's original mounting frame, the rubber mounts stretch a bit but reach, its been over a month of non stop running and not only is it quieter, but it runs at near the same temp. Unfortunately the Pro's fan doesn't fit this fan's mount so both useless halves are shelved... probably for life.
Quiet but might not last long
- Pros: I bought this to mount on the side door exhaust port of my ATX case. I lay the case flat, so this fan was actually exhausting upwards. Very quiet, and considering the design and RPM, decent airflow.
- Cons: After about 15 weeks, the rubber grommet-plug thingies that connect the fan assembly to the mounting bracket started to fail. Since the fan was essentially hanging upside down, it dropped into the CPU cooling fan, causing an awful racket. Fortunately, I caught this before permanent damage!
- Other Thoughts: Nowhere in the listing for this fan does it imply that it will work suspended upside down, so I can't really complain that the connectors failed under the stress. Just thought others might want to know in case they had the same idea I did. I could have easily lost a CPU in my scenario.
